Forest of Doors

A young man gets lost in the woods and stumbles into the Forest of Doors. (Idea taken from A Nightmare Before Christmas where the trees have doors on them leading to the other holiday worlds. But in this one there are doors to all worlds from fiction within the Forest.) He finds a beautiful entity that grants him a power up and a reliable but quirky companion. With his newfound abilities he begins to explore new worlds and makes powerful enemies in the process... There wont be a Harem but maybe 2 or 3 girls. [Disclaimer: I do not own any of the characters or stories that appear in this story. MC is original but takes the appearance similar to a trademarked character which I also do not own. This Fic is for my own amusement so updates wont be consistent. Please enjoy it for what it is. Thank you.

After the defeat of the chain magic user, Thomas and the nobles took the unconscious man to the guard shack.

Of course, Thomas pilfered the man's coin purse before that. The noble brats didn't dare to rat him out after seeing him use the same magic as that villain.

Yuno and Asta had stayed behind to once again confirm their bromance. Thomas wasn't interesting in staying there as Yuno had been giving him suspicious glances.

"Why did that guy look at me so weirdly...?" Thomas amused to himself.

(It's probably because he feels some kinship with you master! That and you hid the whole fight while they got beat up.)

"I wasn't hiding out of fear! I was waiting to see if I could copy Asta's anti magic spells! Eh whatever! Doesn't matter because I still got two good ones... wait what was that you mentioned before... about kinship?" He had gotten to defensive about his actions and nearly overlooked her statement.

(I meant kinship, as in being of similar kin. Since you are both part elves.)

"Both what now? I'm a human."

(No master. You are now technically half elf now, since you became a fairy hero.)

Thomas quickly reached for his ears and realized he hadn't yet noticed till now...

"They are pointier than before..."

It wasn't a huge difference but to a trained eye, one could tell he was in fact, a half elf. The conversion done at The Great Fairy Fountain had altered his race. A fact the Great Fairy didn't even bother to mention because in her opinion it was an improvement.

It wasn't a huge deal to Thomas. In fact, a part of him thought it was cool. But another also realized that in many worlds half elves are treated poorly or despised. Something he will need to keep in mind while traveling.

"*sigh* It doesn't matter... I also would like to stay in this world and get more spells from powerful wizards like the captains in the capital, but the Magic Knight tryouts are six months away... I'll have to come back later. Savi, what do you think?"

(Well master, there's another world of magic that we recently lost control of. If we go there you can probably get some more good spells.)

Thomas was indeed intrigued by the idea of getting more spells. He now had four spells. The two newest were [Magic Iron Binding Chain] which is a bind/seal spell, and [Dance of the Pitless Viper] which uses chains like snakes to pierce or whip a target. They are very versatile almost like tentacles.

Thomas didn't think it was enough to fight powerful enemies yet but with his currents spells he wasn't an easy target. He still needed to train his abilities and a new world might be a good place to do so.

After enjoying a warm meal and rest at the small inn of Hage Village, Thomas and Savi left for the Forest of Trees in the morning.

Back in the forest, things were still as dark and eerily quiet as before they left.

(This way. Over there is the door!)

Savi led Thomas to the next worlds door. This was one was outside the territory of the fairies and inside he would have to face an enemy guardian of the enemy faction.

They approached the door and Thomas tried his best to guess which world it was based on the doors design but couldn't figure it out. It looked familiar though.

It was four pictures again but this one had a griffin, a snake, a raven, and some other weird animal.

"Oh well. Let's just see for ourselves." Thomas once again opened the door, and they were whisked away to another world.

A setting sun in the backdrop behind a magnificent castle like structure created a beautiful view as Thomas arrived via tree door.

Stuck in a daze at the edge of a place known as The Forbidden Forest, Thomas couldn't break free of the majestic sight of a place he had once dreamed of going as a kid.

"Hogwarts..."

(...mas! Thomas! Listen!)

Thomas shivered hearing that word again coming from a fairy.

"Please don't say that anymore Savi. I don't want to be traumatized again..."

(Well silly master I was trying to tell you... we are about to be forcibly teleported.)

"Huh?!"

A light suddenly flashed around them and their view changed drastically. Thomas and Savi both turned slowly to meet the smiling face of the person that brought them there.

"Dumbledore." Thomas muttered in disbelief.

The old wizard with a flowing white beard and a wise countenance stood before the pair with amusement in his eyes.

"It seems you know me, young man. How about you introduce yourselves before explaining how you suddenly appeared on school grounds, completely bypassing the security enchantments."

Thomas sweat dropped and nervously thought how to answer. But the thought of lying to this guy was ridiculous as if he suspects him, he could just read his mind with magic anyway.

'The truth shall set you free... I hope.' He mused to himself.

"I... am Thomas. And this is Savi, she's a fairy. We have two purposes for coming here. One is to learn magic. And two is to defeat an enemy that feeds off your world."

"Our world?"

'Crap! I fucked up. I shouldn't say world!'

Dumbledore noticed Thomas didn't want to explain further so even though he was the curious sort, he decided to let it go for now.

He was also able to tell Thomas was speaking truth and also for his own amusement decided to teach the boy some spells.

"You wish to learn magic? Well, you have indeed come to the right place for that. But first tell me more about this enemy of yours."

Savi decided to finally speak up and explain. Both for Dumbledore and Thomas as well.

(Sir. The enemy in question is more like an anchor that absorbs luck and fortune from the world. These anchors send the essence of the world's luck back to its master.

This, in the end, can alter the fate of a world and cause it to meet its destruction much earlier than it was supposed to.

Thomas here is the hero chosen by the Great Fairy to restore peace to the myriad worlds. And I am his fairy guide!)

The little fairy was almost puffing her chest out with pride at the last part. Except she was just a ball of light.
