Again?

Lora and I were walking down the street. We had left the police station a while ago and we were both disappointed. It was another dead end.

There had been many efforts in the past few weeks, and many leads, but it was always a dead end. The security cameras had nothing and the security guards were taken out before they could notice anything, making their statements useless. I hadn't said anything to Lora, I didn't want to upset her further, she was already scared. When detective Weils called me this morning I had a good feeling about it.

But when Lora said that none of the voices sounded familiar I felt all hope leave my body.

"And lastly," Detective Weils said, "number Five state your name and repeat the phrase as well, please."

"Patrick Lewis. Stay still." the man said and both Owen and I looked at Lora waiting for her response.

"It's not him. None of them is..." she said and shook her head. I touched her shoulder to comfort her and I felt her flinch under my touch.
