The Record 2

""Anterograde amnesia" Have you heard about it? You see, it's like you remember what your friend wore when you two first join campus journalism back in highschool..."

"Of course, I remember, what was that again? I'm pretty sure she wore her purple shirt and denim skirt paired with neon orange flipflops." Maia halted reading just to think about it again out loud but got herself together again, "No, no. Let's focus, Maia" she shook her head and continued reading.

"... But you can't even remember that it's already been a month... Or a year since you have been into an accident. 'Cuz I don't know how long will you become like this. The doctor said this is just temporary tho, since it's just a minor head injury. This notebook contains the necessary and basic informations you can't but have to remember ever since the day you knocked your head for real. Be it work or personal life."

"Oh no!... I don't kinda like what's going on right now..." Maia mumbled to herself, "Is someone pulling a prank?" She thought out loud as she flipped the second page to continue reading.

"No one is pulling a prank, cut it out. Kitty knows, and she's next to you when you wrote this. You might not believe it but some questions you will be asking her will be the nth time for her to answer."

"Heh? If that's the case... I still want to ask her things..." Maia said to herself.

"I repeat, some questions you might ask her will be the nth time for her, if you're just going to ask what's already written in here, you'll be like some of your students who still ask if they are just going to encircle the correct answer when you already indicated it on their test papers."

"Okay, fine..." She pouted.

"Don't forget to write every necessary information you will gain today here in this notebook, 'Cuz girl, you'll get your head on a reboot when you sleep. -Maia." The first two pages ended that way.

"Why do I feel like I just nagged myself? This is terribly weird..." She shut her eyes and groaned. In a moment, she opened her eyes and springed from the bed and went to change. "Oh right! I forgot, I have class today! Oh no! I don't have time to digest these glitches in my life!" She exclaimed as she slides some hangers while looking for something to wear.

Maia went out of her room and entered the kitchen and her eyes landed first on Kitty's back profile. "Ki-Kitty..." She stammered a little.

"You're awake." Kitty said before turning around and looked at Maia. "Come, have some loaf." Pointing the bread with her head.

Maia isn't sure about what's going on again and is internally struggling of whether to ask Kitty or not, *Ughh... I wanna ask her, I wanna ask her!* So she just pulled out one of the wooden chairs and spread some peanut butter on top of a sliced bread as she sat down and inconspicuously look at her friend who happens to be gazing at the wall clock mounted at the top right middle part of wall behind Maia. "Uhm..."

"What happened, right?" Kitty butt in before Maia could start a conversation with that question.

"Huh?!" Maia was caught by surprise to hear the question she wanted to ask coming from her friend's lips. "Y-yeah..." She lowered her peanut butter sandwich and looked down at it. "How d-"

"How did I know?" Kitty cut off again and finally looked at Maia in the eyes then stared at the clock once more.

Seeing this, Maia could only give a deep sigh with pursed lips.

"Guess we still got time." Kitty said as she gulped the left amount of coffee in her cup at once after stirring it.

"Y-yes?... Time for what?" Maia begged for clarification.
