Chapter 4

As soon as I entered the room, a heavenly scene entered my eyes. Miss Shiorra had just came out of shower and her voluptuous body was only covered by a thin towel. Her long wet black her along with her fair skin was a sight to behold.

I just cannot help myself as I kept staring at her half-exposed breasts, And seeing my stare she responded,

"Wait here for some time, I'll be back." She said and went inside her bedroom.

After she left, I held a huge sigh of relief.

'Calm down buddy, we have a girlfriend . . . . . . .'

'Wait, I shouldn't know this and now that I think about I cannot remember having a girlfriend, or rather I shouldn't have in the first place. So that leaves only one possibility, it happened because of the contract and I think that it will come back slowly on it's own if I become a Vicer.'

After finishing my thoughts and setting my direction for the future, I looked around the room of Miss Shiorra, It was a bit larger than my own room and it also had luxury furniture. The rest was the same except for the absence of the pod.

After some time Miss Shiorra entered and sat in front of me. She looked exactly the same as the day I first saw her in the white room.

"Do you feel any changes in your body after you woke up?" She asked in a serious tone.

"My physical appearance and abilities became much better and I can feel my heart now. Those were the only changes I noticed. . . . . . . . . . . Aah! and I found this thing stuck on my chest.", As I said this I showed the clayey thing to Miss Shiorra.

Taking a look at it she said,

"Listen kid!, this thing will be very important to you after your procedure is completed. Think of it like a guide for your progress and also your most trusted companion. As I said in my note, your procedure of contract is still ongoing and when it finishes the thing in your hand will turn into an accessory or a weapon which will be attached to you as a part of your body. The powers of the Nitros need an outlet to come out and the 'Case' comes into play"

"As for your body growth, it is the because of the pod and the contract. Now your body is stronger than a normal human and it gets upgraded as you move up the ladder of evolution with your nitros."

"And finally about your heart, When a contract is formed with a nitros, it will divide itself into two parts - Case and Mana Organ. The case stays outside of the body. And Mana Organ goes inside the body and binds itself with an already existing organ. For most of the cases and also yours, the heart is chosen and turned into mana heart. For very rare cases, the senses are chosen and for ultra rare cases the mind is chosen. By the way the one who sealed your memories also had his mind chosen."

After answering all of my questions in one breath, Miss Shiorra stood up and once again went inside her bedroom and came back right away with a couple of thick books.

She looked at me and as if she remembered something important, in a hurried tone she asked,

"By the way, did I mention anything about 'Synchronization' in my note?"

". . . . . . No." I replied.

As if expecting my reply, she said

"Haaaah. . . . . . . Alright listen Rey, Since you have a Mana Heart now, concentrate on your heart and close your eyes and then say Synchronization. After that tell me what comes to your mind."

I did the same as she said, closed my eyes, focused on my heart, and said

"Synchronization."

Suddenly a number flashed in my mind and I opened my eyes and said, "23%"

"Hmm . . . . it's faster than I expected but not at their level. . . . " Shiorra mumbled to herself.

" Okay , before you ask me anything more, take those 3 books, it contains everything you want to know and you should know at your level. Now this is your temporary ID card, keep it safe and always with you." She handed me a card similar to hers.

"And in one of those books, there is one with a method for increasing the synchro. Use that technique and when the number reaches 100%, come back here using the card that I gave you before, until then do not leave your room."

For the first time she looked at me with a little warmth and said, " Actually, you were only supposed to get two books from me but I gave you more, do you know why?"

I shook my head as I genuinely did not know why. From our first meet, she was always nice to me. At that time I thought that she is like that to everyone but her question now changed my mind.

"Because knowing your personality, the next time we meet you would've bombed me with several questions and I am too lazy to answer those. You always had that outpouring curiosity inside you. That's why I gave those extra books."

Hearing her answer, I felt like she is someone I used to know. I asked her right away,

"Do I used to know you?"

She smiled and answered my question.

After hearing her answer, I took all the books and my card and entered my room in the same manner as I entered her room.

After coming back to my room, the first thing I did was to check my synchro again. After nearly two hours of chatting with Shiorra, the synchro only went up by 0.12%. I have to start using the technique given to me by tonight, only then I will be able to move forward at faster pace.

I went to the kitchen and opened the fridge, there was enough food for 2 meals. According to the discussion I had with Shiorra, the fridge will fill itself up everyday with new food. So, the only work I have to do now is to increase my Synchro to 100% and then take the next step.

Thinking about all the books I have to read and the technique I have to practice tonight, I decided to sleep for a few good hours and start a fresh.

There was only an alarm clock inside the room and there was no calendar or digital device to see the dates, so it was impossible to see the current dates and since we are on another planet, there are 40 hours a day here. I set the alarm for 10 hours and slept for the first time since I was brought here.

After I woke up, there was still 18 hours left for the day to end. The first thing I started doing after waking up was to make a timetable for my daily routine till I complete the synchro. After half an hour of hard thinking I came up with my timetable.

EVERYDAY TIMETABLE:

0 to 8 [sleep]

8 to 9 [fresh up]

9 to 12 [reading books]

12 to 13 [meal 1]

13 to 18 [synchro increase practice]

19 to 29 [ afternoon sleep ]

32 to 35 [ reading books ]

35 to 36 [meal 2]

36 to 40 [synchro increase practice]

After making my mind I rigorously followed the timetable each passing day and after a week I started getting a hang of it.

The 'Mana Heart Breath' was the technique I started practicing for the growth of synchro rate. This technique not only increases synchro but also strengthens the body further. This technique contains 12 sets of different breathing styles, and at my stage I can only do the first one.

After a week I already read all of the given books and obtained a lot of information. The first book talked about the abilities and ranks and powers of vicers and their history. The second book was all about 'mana' and it's uses. And the last one was an overview of all the rules and regulations of the Star Sect.

Since I already completed reading my books, I used that time slot to practice the basic hand-to-hand combat manual of the sect which was mandatory to all.

On the 24th day my synchronization rate reached 100%.
