The Grind part 1

Vex POV

as I stare down at my brother I then look to my right after a few minutes I saw a group of skeletons and zombies my brother saw them two got up grabbed his hammer and looked at me with a look that says permission to smash.

" the hell why are you looking at me go break them the part."

my brother charged like a battle of Hell at them I couldn't help but wonder if I really should let my brother decide what we do then I remember he is just a knucklehead it also could be his intelligence that being weak hence why he didn't ask for a plan he just wanted to hit something. I started to use my wings to begin to fly I noticed my brother didn't have wings then I remembered that not all dragonborns are born with wings. actually only those with a pure dragon bloodline are born with wings which meant me and Lucas are half brothers in these bodies. well it doesn't really matter regardless of her brothers are not he's still my dork of a brother.

I noticed there was approximately 12 zombies and about 16 skeletons only two of the skeletons had bows as the rest of the undead we're using their bare hands. but I also noticed there is a small group of goblins about five of them and one orc. they seem to be approaching my brother's location I stayed silent as I drew my Katana from it's Scabbard. I then decided to cast life tether from the 5 goblins to my brother. that way they would lose their HP will also healing him.

I decided to stay in the sky and wait for the perfect time to strike. watch how the fight progress seeing my brother clean house of the undead they didn't really stand up much of a chance against him one good swing from his hammer or one good swing of his Whirlwind ability and he took them out easily. but I didn't notice the Goblins were practically half dead already. my brother then noticed right then and there that he was being healed by something's life force as he looked around he saw the five goblins and the orc. once they saw he noticed them they started to charge him. as I waited for the orc to be right under me while my brother dealt with the goblins I made my wings snap to my back closing them completely as I started to fall towards the ground I ready my Katana to cut the Orcs head off.

when I was about 10 ft above the ground I open my wings suddenly casting a shadow over the orc by the time he looked up it was already too late I had already swing my Katana and cleaving his head off from its shoulders. as I looked up I noticed my brother had finished the last goblin. he quickly looked over to me with a huge smile I couldn't help but sigh at this point. he seems like he was about to say something but before he could speak I lifted the lantern off of my hip and used raise dead on the corpses of the 5 goblins and the one orc. when all 6 were raised I received six notifications.

" congratulations you have created Undead Goblin Archer."

" congratulations you have created Undead Goblin Archer."

" congratulations you have created Undead Goblin Warrior."

" congratulations you have created Undead Goblin Warrior."

" congratulations you have created Undead Goblin Scout."

" congratulations you have created Undead orc Berserker."

I looked at them with a smile as I link my Lantern back to my hip then I heard my brother began to speak.

" brother I don't really like the idea of raising the dead are you sure we have to resort to this."

I looked over to Lucas with a sad smile on my face.

" little brother and this world the strong survive in the weak die because of this way of thinking we have to become the strongest we have to put fear into everyone who dares opposes if we don't then how are we going to complete your dream by uniting all of them under one Banner."

my brother looks remorseful but nod his head. my brother is then decided to ask me another question.

" can skills and spells upgrade?"

I'm nodded my head as I began to speak.

" yes they can most abilities can be leveled up to level 10 when they hit that they will evolve into a new more powerful variant of that ability you get to choose the evolution as well for spells as an example my raise dead spell when it hits level 10 it could evolve into a spell called create Undead and any spelling ability can only Evolve three times. oh and just so we get this over with there are five categories of threat levels when it comes to monsters."

my brother nodded his head just like when he was little I swore if he had a notepad and pain he would be riding this down.

" those five threat levels of monsters categorized by color gray is the weakest threat level of a monster it means it is at least 10 levels below your current level. the next is green which is the second weakest Threat Level being about at least either equal to your level or 9 levels below. next we have blue which is the middle ground of the five categories they are at least 5 to 10 levels above your current level. the next color is purple which is the second strongest of the categories this Threat Level is at least 15 to 20 levels above your level. last but not least is orange or some people call it gold this Threat Level is at least 25 to 30 levels above your current level. defeating these threat levels will ultimately change how much XP received say you defeat a orange level Goblin you will get approximately eight times the experience that you would get from a green level Goblin."

my brother continued to nod his head as he was busy thinking I looked over to the Undead goblin Scout and gave it a mental command to search for a cave for us to set up a base. it quickly ran off following my orders then my brother started to speak.

" do you get an experience if you're Undead kill an enemy?"

I nodded my head as I began to speak well I simultaneously noticed there is a group of Undead heading our way this time it was much bigger and it was being led by a ghoul.

" yes they no longer count as their own entity they count as parts of me so any XP they gain will automatically go to me. also say no brother we got some enemies inbound to our West."

I said this as I began to fly up into the air my brother quickly got up and grabbed his hammer I gave a mental command to my remaining Undead in the area to fight by my brother's side. the undead quickly grabbed their weapons and got into a formation with my brother I noticed there was a lot more powerful Undead than just the ghoul there were two armored skeletons with swords and shields and one spellcaster skeleton. as soon as the undead got close enough they began to charge at my brother and my little group of Undead I quickly use life Tedder to link as many Undead as I could to my brother to keep him healed which was about 20 which seems to be about the maximum of tatters I can create. not that I have a aerial Vantage I could see there's about 40 skeletons 45 zombies those two armor skeletons the ghoul and that one spellcaster skeleton. all together it was 89 Undead. suddenly I felt my inner Locust speak to me.

" it's time for the Grine"

I nodded my head at that statement as I decided to destroy the spellcaster skeleton first I began flying over the battlefield with my Katana removed from its Scabbard. I swing my blade a little bit using wind blade slash to launch wind blades at the skeleton caster luckily for me the Caster like most casters were squishy considering it was a skeleton it was even more squishy since it didn't have much in the terms of Defense compared to a standard living caster. so with two air blades the Caster was down. I started to swing my blade again launching air blades at the skeletons and zombies since I didn't have a spell like magic Missile I can only do this I started the thing to myself if vipers Fang was a good idea for an ability. then again I did choose it for when I'm facing living beings since I know for a fact poison will not affect Undead.

as I looked over towards my brother who was taking on the ghoul and the two armored skeletons with the help of the orc Berserker. mainly the orc Berserker was handling the ghoul and keeping it from attacking my brother. well the two skeletons were being manhandled by my brother whenever one of the skeletons go for a swing he would swing his hammer and hit the blade nearly sending it flying out of their hands. and if one of the skeletons try attacking when he's defending himself against the other he would use the bottom of his hammers handle to block their strike.

my brother always had good instincts which were heightened and developed from our lives as Street Fighters. then I could tell my brother also had some military training just like I did back during my tours in the military. I quickly shook this train of thought off as I started to continue firing wind blades at the rest of the undead though I did have a curious thought if I could turn them into minions. after a full minute of fighting or rather me firing windblades at the undead horde before us my brother beating the brakes off of two skeletons with armor and the orc basically dodging all the ghouls attacks and then my brother coming up from behind and crushing its head like a watermelon. as I landed on the ground I pulled out my Lantern and attempted to use raise dead on the undead I could only get it to work on the skeletons and zombies the skeleton caster the two armored skeletons and the ghoul could not be raised as minions. which made me a little bit sad but then again they were evolved monsters with that thought that reminded me I had to teach my brother about evolved monsters.

" little brother come over here it is time for your next lesson and that lesson is evolved monsters."

my brother immediately sat down on his legs with his hammer in his lap and looked at me was intent that if I was a maid and I would be blushing.

" monsters naturally get stronger over time just like the Civilized races but they have the capability of evolving in the case of Undead they had killed a lot of people and absorb the energy created from people who just died. because of that they had evolved into a higher form of Undead in the case of four of our enemies from our last battle that was the ghoul the two armor skeletons and the skeleton spellcaster. not before your ask yes my Undead can evolve but it will take them double the amount of negative energy to evolve since they are connected to me a living being."
