Footprints

Strange things usually happen uncommonly. Once can be a fling, the second a coincidence, the third...not so much. But for all of it to happen to a group of kids? That is very suspicious indeed. (I am an amateur writer and English is my second language. So, I am very sorry if you encounter any errors in my novel...Happy reading)

Chapter 4

(Taylor and Tarot's POV)

The sound of splashing waves permeated to hit the land, kind of like a series of practice moves. The ocean was blue tinged with a litter bit of green that is a bit farther from the land, while it is so, the water was clearer than most beaches. Unpolluted and beautiful. While the sands were white and there were no big rocks in the ocean, it made it more easier for walking and swimming at the same time.

Beyond the ocean there are lush greens of trees and streams of water. And near a waterfall, a 3 story mansion painted in white and blue with vines sticking on it and a beautiful garden in front, there lies a couple of people inside the mansion. But 2 particular kids are currently up and running with mischievous smiles in their faces.

They went to the hallway with a lot of doors that all has the same design but a name written on a wooden plaque hanging on each door. They looked at each other and nodded their head. They then separated and goes off to their own destination. Taylor and Tarot places items on each bedroom, items that they invented or just made out of fun. This particular items aren't just items, they are made and given to specific people inside those bedrooms. In short, each item are unique to a person.

Taylor and Tarot meets up in the hallway at the same time closing the doors that are facing each other. There was one bedroom that they haven't entered yet, and that was their parents'. They both slowly goes to the last door with a little bit of fear and more of excitement. They've always taken it as a challenge whenever they're mother always seem to know what they're doing, but they had planned this before even the year started Watching their moves, putting cameras on each room... This morning might just be the one that gives them the biggest surprise in their whole life.

They stopped in front of the door and kneeled. Taylor turns the knob slowly and goes inside with Tarot in tow. While crawling inside, their mother made a noise. They looked for a minute in waiting, then continued.

There was a sound of creaking of the bed. The woman sleeping was up.

'Uh Oh' they said in their mind but they were relieved when she was blindfolded for sleeping.

They then quickly went to the other side of the bed where their father was while their goes to the bathroom on her side.

They left items on the floor near their father and then they put one on her mother's favorite vanity. They then quickly and silently left.

They quickly changed their clothes and goes to the kitchen to prepare their meal. They looked at the clock and waited before 6 am to go to the front door.

Tarot hands her a metal box with a big red button enclosed with glass.

"Well, let's get the show going" Taylor takes it and opens the glass. She looked at her brother smiling. And then presses it.

There was a lot of noise behind them as they closed the door and confidently walked out while smiling with mischief.

They took off to a clearing near the mansion where a private jet is waiting for them. There was a woman dressed as a flight stewardess and a man clothed in a pilot's uniform. When they saw Taylor and Tarot, they nodded in greeting and let them inside the private jet. While they were seated and given refreshments by the stewardess, Taylor took out a black tablet. The tablet's screen shows what happened inside each room before they left the house.

"Hahahaha....look at this" Taylor holds out the tablet to her brother while laughing.

On the screen, it shows a person in their mid thirties screaming his ass off when he saw clowns in his room, but then suddenly a clown popped off in a small box on the foot of his bed and then he screamed in a high pitch voice like a girl.

They both slowly watched others screaming in the screen. But they stopped laughing when they're mother was looking at one of the cameras and saying something.

"Turn up the volume." says Tarot.

Taylor turns up the volume and they both listened to their mother talking.

"You LITTLE DEVILS!, if you don't show up to me in a minute I will seriously have you all listed off in the wills. And I'll-" Before she could continue, Taylor shut the tablet off.

"Why'd you did that? I wanted to hear what she says" Tarot tells her.

"There's no need to listen. It's always the same fake blackmail sh**, she better be thankful that she's rich or else we could've gotten out of this hell of a family." Taylor says to him angrily. "It's her fault were like this."

Tarot looks at his sister, although she wasn't crying, her heart was breaking. "And I like the way we are" He tells her in comfort while holding her hand.

They stayed like that for most of their ride, comforting each other and waiting for the private jet to land so that they can go to their real family.

So.... if you think about it, the signs are there.

The twins are the way they are because of what they've experienced and how the environment made them be who they are.

I'll give more signs in later chapters about the twins and other characters of this novel.

I guess you guys already know who they regard as they're real family right???
