Chapter 1

Sometimes, I don't understand this world, almost everything never goes as planned. I've been crushing hard on this guy for a long time but he never notices me, almost like I'm invisible. He is the hottest guy in my grade and a real player. People say he's never had a girlfriend for more than three months. Every girl wants him but he pretends like he doesn't notice it. He flirts with them all but never me because I'm a nerd who wants a nerd?-the only guys I attract are bullies. Sometimes I want to fight back but I'm small and weak. I also hate my body. I have really big boobs and butt which every one noticed first and I'm short, like really short and people made jest of me at first because of that so I try to hide it all under clothes making me look ugly and shapeless and the fact that I can barely see without my glasses makes it worse. I have them flung around by bullies' most especially the girls. My worst enemies are Riley and Kate, I have no ideas why they hate me so much. They hate each other but they have one thing in common which is hating me. I love being alone drawing and listening to music. Those are the only things that keep me happy love spending time with my family but it only happens rarely. My dad lives out of the country and it's almost like my mum is never home. Well, she isn't. I lost her when I was five. I cried myself to sleep for more than a week. Even though I was just six' my mum was my best friend. She always read me bed time stories and sang to me. She was the one I would always run to when I had a nightmare. She was everything to me. My dad was not always around then. But, when she died, I felt my world was turned upside down. My dad was worse. Even though he was never around, I could tell he really loved my mum. He was broken, shattered but I was destroyed. Mum's death really wrecked my family. I still cry sometimes when think of her. My dad stayed with me for about a month before he left again. A nanny was employed for me, with two maids. I really love my nanny, Gertrude. She's getting old now, but I still her to stay. She's the one I tell about my day after my mum, you know. It took a while for me to get used to her but she was patient with me all through. Even when I would throw tantrums, scream for my mum, she would hold me and comfort me till she was sure I was okay. Sometimes, I feel bad when I think about how I treated her at first. My two maids, Naomi and Norma are the best. I try to treat them as friends but sometimes, they are too modest. I was on my way home from school after a terrible and embarrassing day. That day, at the cafeteria, I got shoved onto the floor by Riley in front of Sean and Kate "mistakenly" poured her noodles on me. I didn't want any trouble and everyone was laughing at me. I ran to the bathroom to get myself cleaned up and spent the rest of lunch getting noodles strands out of my hair. My shirt was stained so. I had to my sweater on and it was hot so I was sweating like crazy. I was feeling dirty and sticky throughout. I was walking home then I heard someone call my name. I turned back and immediately, a car zoomed past, splashing muddy water on me. I didn't want to cry. I was done with it. Kate's head popped out through the window and she smiled when she saw what happened to me. I got home angry. My house is extremely big with twelve bedrooms. It's more like a mansion. The first floor is cool and heart-warming. The dining features a large marble table which sits up to twelve persons. The fully equipped kitchen includes two large fridges and has an open atmosphere with a view to the rear garden through a 1m high window. In the master bedroom, there's a four-poster king sized bed with Hessian drapes but no one uses it anymore. My bedroom has a blue ray-satellite flat screen TV access to the pool area. Each bedroom is air-conditioned with en-suite bathroom and each bedroom consists of bathtub, shower and at least one sink. My room also has a fantastic open wooden sealing, a special 3-fold mirror and a king sized but with fantastic light effects. WI_FI high speed Internet connection is available throughout the house. It's really incredible. And oh, did I mention how rich my dad is? He is the C.E.O of a multinational business empire that owns and runs almost every business in the country. More than half of the companies in the country are registered under his company's name. From the modelling industry to the acting, music, fashion, textile production, name it, he owns it all but nobody knows that. The people at school think I'm poor, and I that I only got admitted on scholarship. Well, I'm not about to change that mind set.
