Celine came to her father's study but she can already guess the topic of their conversation.

Just as she thought Duke Alfred talked about her engagement issue.

In truth they haven't decided on her partner but most girls gets engaged around 12 to 13 so they were just nominating candidates.

"Should we include Kian?"

Celine thought she misheard her father's words.

Kian? He's more like a troublesome little brother.

"Father would you have included sister Rosie as your fiancé candidate when you were younger?"

Alfred's face darkened as such thing would never have happened and will never happen. Rosie was his battle comrade

"No, never! Alright it's your fiancé so you think about it."

Then Celine left the study like nothing happened as she has no intention of getting married.

And she already thought of a way.

That is to study at imperial academy.

Entering the Imperial academy basically means joining the Imperial military.

If you have a talent it doesn't matter who you are or what status you have, the academy will welcome you, but after you graduate you must work for the empire for at least 5 years.

it means Celine can do whatever she wants without worrying about fiancé or family matters.

After serving the military she thought of joining the mage tower.

She can become a high ranking mage and live for hundreds of years anyway.

Now the problem is how to tell Kian. Knowing his personality he will surely snap.

I can't always babysit him if I enter the Imperial academy he can become more independent she thought for her own comfort.

Actually Kian's personality problem all started with Celine, she was the trigger and Gavin was the one to teach him.

When she was 7, a romance book was published.

It became a hit, the mischievous and sunny but also caring male lead became all girls crush.

At that time 2 years have passed since Kian came and the 6 years old Kian was like Celine's tail.

So he heard all of her talks about the male lead. How cool he was, how caring he was,

basically it was a bad boy syndrome.

It became one of Celine's embarrassing dark past.

Kian wanted Celine to like him so he told Gavin about it.

At that time Gavin laughed till he turned red and told him about how he used to pull girls when he was young.

Then Kian tried it on himself. He was like a blank paper, once painted it was impossible to erase it so it was too late to change his personality.

Kian already established his own personality different than that male lead,

he was colder.

People might think he's approachable due to his bold personality but when you get to know him he won't let you in his heart no matter what unlike the sunny and gullible book protagonist.

Trauma is not easy to heal. In fact his trauma never healed.

Celine and Gavin was just lucky enough to enter his heart early.

Now that he has his own thoughts and purposes it's almost impossible to enter his heart.

And despite his trauma the reason why Kian seems okay is because Celine has yet to abandon him.

If Celine leaves him to where she's not there. Then Kian will become just like a lost puppy.

More than Kian, Celine was afraid of leaving Kian.

Only she understood how much Kian emotionally depended on her.

"Ahhh! Fine I will just secretly sign for the academy with Kian. I'm sure he will fuss for a while then go with me. "

Thinking like this she went to the training ground.

The first thing she saw was not Kian or the apprentices training but bunch of teenagers crouching down and in the middle of it was Kian holding something like a book.

This made Celine truly curious as they looked too serious to be fooling around.

Some of them were looking so serious that their faces were turning red. And she heard some words like big, small pink or brown.

Celine crouched beside a teenager around fifteen.

"hey what's happening?"

"Shhhh commander Gavin brought another limited edition book, Kian took it secretly we have to return it before we're found out---"

Silence—

The bunch of teenagers heart almost stopped when they realized it was a girl's voice.
