Divorce date
"Good evening maa. Did u call to ask for your birthday present" he said as soon as he picked up the call."
"Yes, I want my daughter in law and that stupid contract to be burnt, that's my birthday wish this year. So, fulfill it. I just called to remind you that tomorrow is my birthday and I can't stop Anaya after that. So you have just a day to fulfill my birthday wish" a stern voice came from the phone.
"I know maa. We are already on it and everything will be over tonight. Don't worry. I won't let your daughter in law escape" Dheer said in a soft voice.
After he hung up the call, Dheer got even more anxious. His mom managed to pique his anxiousness to another level. He was literally quivering from being all nervous.
"Stop it Dheer. How will you execute the plan if you behave like this? We are here and won't let this plan to misfire, just believe in us and stop fretting." Eva almost scolded Dheer to spruce up his head. "Anaya will soon arrive and everything is settled. We are going to the venue to double-check all the arrangements. Aisha, Sam, and Rehan are already in their positions. So get ready and just follow the plan okay. Believe us, we will unmask that b**ch today no matter what" she assured him.
Dheer calmed down a little following Eva's words. He took deep breaths and nodded.
After assuring that Dheer was fine Elisa, Arav and Eva left his apartment to recheck the arrangements. They would have gone earlier but knew that Dheer would be fretting so they came here to calm him down while Rehan, Sam, and Aisha went to check other arrangements.
Soon after they left Anaya arrived at their apartment and slumped on the couch of the living room. She looked beyond exhausted. But Dheer had no other option than to take her to that party if he wanted to unmask Anshika.
"Welcome back Anaya. You look exhausted." Dheer handed her a glass of water seeing how tired she looked.
"Yeah, I had back to back surgeries scheduled today because the other gynecologist resigned and my mentor has yet to join." She accepted the glass from Dheer and said in a weary voice. She quickly gulped the entire glass and as she was about to put the glass down, she noticed him all dressed up.
As he noticed her questioning look he answered "I am invited to a gathering but I need a date. So I was waiting for you to come so that I could ask you to be my date. But you look exhausted" he almost mumbled the last part of the sentence.
"I will. I mean I'll be your date. Let's consider it as our divorce date. I mean tomorrow is mama Oberoi's birthday banquet right So we'll be busy with it after our work and day after tomorrow we'll tell them everything and get our divorce. So we only have today, mean tonight left. So let's go to this gathering and consider it a divorce date" Anaya said smiling. These past few days that they investigated the case they grew closer than ever and by now Anaya had successfully accepted everything. She now clearly see Dheer as his friend and wanted a proper closure to end this relationship of husband and wife properly. So she agreed to go with him.
Dheer on the other hand was dumbstruck. Her words pierced through his skin and struck the deepest part of his heart as if someone had shot him. He cursed himself once again for coming with that ridiculous agreement. He couldn't utter a word and only watch Anaya as she went to her room to get changed.
The event was organized by the owner of the casino that Anshika frequented during this time. And another invite was sent to the CEO of the S.K group. In his latest reports, he came to know that Anshika got in contact with her ex-husband after his company's shares rose so he was sure that they would attend the event together.
But what Anshika didn't know was Dheer too was invited to the event. Not only invited, he was the actual organizer of this event. It was the event that was planned by Dheer and his friends just to bring out Anshika's true face in front of Anaya. Luckily, the owner was someone they knew. Besides, it was a free promotion for his casino too so he agreed to it at once.
