Chapter 1Prologue

Blood slowly dripped down my head, as I stared at a flexible parabolic monitor in front of me. It was changing colors and shapes as I repeatedly clicked on its screen to check for something. Finally, I found what I was looking for, the last log on the computer, I clicked on play and waited a second for it to play. The pixels faded in to make what seemed like a familiar face. The smirk he had on his face gave an impression he enjoyed his time while making the recording.

"I've been dreaming of changing this stagnant world for a long time now, living every single day growing tired of this sick world! Hey, Victor, tell me, aren't you also wishing for the same thing, destruction, progress, change… A GOD'S JUDGMENT?!"

Those were the words coming from the double stereo speakers below the desk echoeing on the curved walls of the room, it was addressed to me and spoken with a menacing ring to it. The words fell into me like a cascade of water falling into a plunge pool, eroding its bottom when its already filled up. The screen slowly blacked out as the video stopped, showing a white double sign on it.

"What did this asshole do, fuck! I have to… huh?"

A low creak behind me grew louder and louder, stealing my attention from the blank screen. Followed by a loud crack sound coming from the metallic walls of the room, the debris flung around my back in an uneven dispersion. I stood up straight from my bent position and made a quick turn back, bracing myself for an escape.

That was when my gaze caught onto it and remained unbroken for what felt like a minute, it was something to be expected in my line of work yet it took every ounce of thought out of my mind, a monstrosity, something like that should not exist here in Arkanyra.

It stuck out its intertwined uncountable arms everywhere around the room, filling the room with darkness, it became obvious there was no way for me to escape anymore.

"This is… more than a monster!"

Upon snapping out of the trance, I quickly clutched at the 9-clip draskalov automatic pistol in my lab coat's pocket, the thin rectangular indicator light above its grip glowed blue in the low light to signify its safety catch is off, making it a contest of speed, a desperate last minute attempt to give meaning to my life.

A dark green blur spiraled towards me, aiming for my left hand still in my pocket, I quickly twisted my waist inward left to create more time for me to take out the gun. I was lucky, it missed. With my hand on the trigger, the pistol now out of the pocket, I had a little hope of putting some damage onto the monster standing before me.

Before I could shoot, 4 more branches followed dashing for my neck, both arms and my left lap, it was too late to demostrate my inferiority.

"I am done for…"
