Amnesia

There was Commotion in the room as Alicia was being rushed into the ward. The doctor told them to wait in the waiting section .

"Mom..please calm down, she will be alright". He said trying to Console her even though he was not convinced.

Charlotte was told to stay at home but she disagreed. She agreed after a lot of persuasion.

"Are you sure she would be fine?". She had asked Alex, looking really worried.

"I promised she would be fine". He had assured her with so much confidence.

Bella ran inside the hospital looking really worried. "How is my sister what happened to her.. what did you guys do to her?. She asked, looking worried.

"Calm down Bella, she will be fine". Alexander said dubiously.

"What do you mean she will be fine?". She yelled at the top of her voice gaining attention.

"My sister is in that room fighting for her life and you are here telling me she will be fine tell me what did you do to her just tell me please". She said crying .

Alexander was still looking for the right word to use when the doctor interrupted them.

"Doctor please how is she?". Bella asked him.

"Can we talk in my office ? I'm talking to sir Alexander". He said looking at them.

"Sure". Alexander said following the doctor to his office.

"We are going together". Bella said following him. They were now in the doctor's office.

"How is she please". They asked him.

"She's alright but she needed rest".

"Thank you doctor but please why did she pass out?. Bella demanded.

"Well it seems your sister is suffering from amnesia". He said simply.

"What!". They exclaimed in unison.

"What do you mean by amnesia doctor?". Alexander demanded.

"Amnesia is an abnormal degree of forgetfulness or inability to recall past events. Sometimes it can't be cured but the one that your sister is currently suffering from is curable". He said and they breathe in and out a sign of relief.

"What do you think caused it?". Alexander pressed further.

"Something hard was hit on her head so she lost her memory and now someone tries showing her something that she has seen before she had amnesia which led to headache. She is actually trying her best to remember but that's not the best way you guys did it. She can lose her memory permanently. We can try getting her to recover it again so please guys we can do this in a medical way rather than putting laws in your own hands by trying to make her recover her memory?". Bella glared at Alexander.

"What did you do to my sister Alexander Blake!?". She asked in gritted teeth.

"Bella, just calm down, can we talk in a private place please?. Bella stared at Alexander for minutes.

"Okay...". She said finally. Alexander called one of the drivers to come pick his mum.

"What did the doctor say?. When asked, looking worried.

"Doctor said she will be alright just that she needed rest".

"Alright son what should I do now". Courtney asked.

"Well Mum you can go home and tell Charlotte to prepare food for Alicia and probably get some rest huh?".

"Alright son". Courtney waved Alexander goodbye and went home with the driver.

Alexander and Bella are currently in a restaurant outside town, he wore a nose mask and a spec to avoid the crowd. He ordered French Fries and they ate quietly and slowly with no one saying something.

"First I want to say I'm sorry for not carrying you along all this while. But please Bella I want you to be honest with me who is Alicia like who is she really to you?. Bella's heart raced at the question. Should she tell him the truth? She thought.

"Of course she's my sister". She answered, trying to hide her nervousness.

"Is she really your sister? I mean blood sister? I'm sorry for asking all these questions but I badly need answers".

"What sort of question is that?". Bella demanded.

"Let me tell you a story maybe you'll understand. I once had a sister, her name is Valerie". Alexander told Bella everything that has happened about the disappearance of his sister.

"So you see,since then we haven't seen her". Alexander said sadly.

"So what you are saying now is that Alicia might be Valerie". Bella muttered.

"Exactly please Bella just tell us who Alicia is to you". Alexander replied .

"This is really hard for me to say and I know you have the power to sue me to court so just go for it". Bella said, looking at the floor guiltily.

"I promise not to try anything funny or stupid". Alexander assured Bella and she nodded.

"Alright three years ago my mum was kidnapped. She woke up the next morning and found herself in a dark room,not only her but the ladies were also there. They were sleeping with their hands and legs tied.She went to the door and tried to eavesdrop but all she heard was that they would be sold out. The youngest in the room was Alicia so she woke her up and loosen her rope. It wasn't easy but they escaped through the window. My mum was shot when they were caught but they still managed to escape. When we got home we asked Who Alicia was and discovered she couldn't remember anything not even her name so Mum named her Alicia. Bella finished the story.

"Wow thanks Bella but how come her face changed because I can never forget my sister's face. Did she go through plastic surgery?". Alexander asked, overwhelmed with joy.

"When they got home, mom told us the story . We thought of Alicia's safety first so we bought a face mask so you see that Alicia inside that's not her real face she's under a mask". Alexander was so happy his sister still has her real face.

"Thanks so much Bella I don't know how much I can appreciate you thanks for saving her".Alexander replied really grateful.

"You're welcome. Had it been my mum was alive you would have thanked her and not me". Bella replied sadly.

"I'm sorry". Alexander replied.

"It's ok I'm happy Alicia is going to meet her family again so can we talk about what you did to her that landed her in the hospital?". Bella demanded.

"Well we were trying to see if maybe she will remember anything then we showed her our pictures she was trying hard to remember and when she could not she winced in pain and passed out".Alexander said.

"Oh okay". She said and nodded her head.

"So the doctor said she will go through therapy".

"I just hope she remembers you guys". She said sincerely.

"I hope so too". Alexander said.

"Let's go home and tell them the latest update".

"Mum will be so happy that Valerie is back". Xander said and she smiled.
