Zycoria

I looked outside the window as I kept pacing around the room, going over the plans I had in my head .

To be honest my plan wasn't exactly full proof, and I wasn't sure if I'd be able to pull it off today without any hassles.

I didn't know the time since there wasn't a clock in the room, but by seeing the bright orange sky outside the window, I could tell it would be night soon...finally.

I felt scared that if I fall asleep again in this place, I might have another nightmare,so it was best for me to escape tonight.

Just a few more hours, and I'll be able to get my escape plan into action.

Thinking about it I realized my plan of trying to search for that key thingy is stupid, because I had no clue on where to even start looking, but it's not like I had a choice.

I just had to get it,but to do anything I'll first have to leave this room.

But I remember earlier when I tried to leave, the door was locked from the outside,so how am I supposed to get out now?

It couldn't be Kiara who locks the door because I've been studying her, and she never carries a key.

It's probably that Devil...

Right now the door isn't locked, but I can't go anywhere because Kiara could come back any moment, and she'll notice my absence.

So I'll just wait for her to come, and immediately she leaves while the door is unlocked,so will I.

A few moments later Kiara returned with a bowl of soup for me and some cleaning supplies to tidy up the mess I made.

I ate in silence as I watched her, waiting for her to leave so I can carry out my plan.

But after she was done with the cleaning, she didn't go, she just stood there, waiting for something.

At first I thought maybe she was keeping an eye on me because she found out about my escape plan, but when she took the empty bowl from my hand after I'd finished eating, I realized she was just waiting for me to finish before she left.

Finally, she was gone, and I rushed to the door immediately she left.

I peeked outside, checking if the coast was clear. And when I didn't see anyone, I slowly came out.

I looked around me in awe. The place was huge! And fancy! And mesmerizing! And...and ...and just... Everything! It was just...Wow!

Was I in heaven? I never thought I'd open that door only to meet heaven behind it, but I just did.

I mean this place is...

'Arie snap out of it and focus! You're here on a mission not a tour to some wonderland', I said to myself.

I kept on walking down the magnificent and spacious hallways.

Seriously this place is too huge!

How many people live here? A million?!

How was I supposed to find a single key in this country of a mansion?!

I didn't even know what this key thingy looked like.

Oh God, please help!

Suddenly I heard footsteps heading my way, and I panicked.

I searched around me for a place to hide, and I spotted a large door.

Without wasting time I opened it and entered. Thank goodness this one wasn't locked.

I looked around the room.

Wow this room is really big, and it was filled with books arranged neatly on the antique and expensive-looking shelves.

Is this a library? Seriously this mansion had everything; it even had a library.

Why did a library have to be here? I love books, and now I'm tempted to stay here a while longer and see the books in here.

I couldn't help but be distracted by all the books, and I roamed around to check them out.

Even though most of the books looked ancient, everywhere was neat, and the books weren't dusty or in bad shape.

Almost as if this place was frequently visited, and cleaned.

Strolling down the aisle I saw the word 'Zycoria' written on top of one of the shelf passageways.

Zycoria? What a strange name...is it a name of a place on earth,or was it a person?

I neared the shelf and just observed the books on it...

All the books looked ancient, and mysterious... but there was one particular book there which took my interest: it wasn't as huge as the others, but it was still big though. It had a shiny golden book cover, with black shiny diamond-like strips at the sides of it. I wondered;

Is it real gold? If so how expensive is this book?

I took it off the shelf and examined it. Strange,it didn't have a title on the cover.

Intrigued at the mysterious vibes the book was giving off, I opened it.

'Zycorian History' was written in bold at the first page, with a picture of two dragons,a black looking one and a gold looking one, breathing fire at each other. Both dragons seemed angry, but neither of them was winning in this fight.

The dragons looked life-like to me.

Was this seriously a history book,it looked more of a story book to me.

I mean if I remember correctly dragons don't exist, and we don't study them in history,so this is probably a story book.

What's Zycoria even supposed to mean?

I flipped to the next page, and this time the word Blane History was written at the top in bold.

What's a Blane? Is it some sort of mythical creature?

I continued to read the book.

According to the book Blanes were powerful were- dragons with exceptional abilities like mind reading. Wow.

In their human form, it was hard to tell who they really were, but each category of Blanes had their own unique feature in their human form.

The turned Blanes had dark grey eyes and pale skins, they were the least powerful.

The half blooded ones had a brighter shade of grey and dark long hair, and their skin was less pale.

The pure blooded ones had shiny yellowish eye colors, and no pupils.

They mostly had bluish blonde hair, and a dragon mark on their chests since they are the only ones who could turn full dragon...but when they turn after a short while their power drains, unlike the royal Blanes.

The royal ones had bright green eyes in their human forms, but after turning their eyes become golden. They had a large dragon mark on their back and another one on their chest.

They were the most powerful of all Blanes, since they could absorb power from any source near them.

This story is cool and interesting and all, but it sounded too mythical to me,and I couldn't help but chuckle.

Whoever wrote this has a really big imagination.

I flipped to the next page, interested to know more about this mythical book.

This time Artian History was written at the top of the page, and I suddenly remembered something.

Artian... I've heard that word before...but where?

Then it suddenly hit me...

When that Devil came in to question me...he called me that...but why?

I'm not some mythical creature... I'm human.

I decided to read more to quench my curiosity.

But looking back at the book now, I got confused.

There was a picture of a star,with a backward S beside it.

I was stunned by what I saw,and I gasped,so loud that I'm sure someone heard me.

Wasn't this the same mark I have?

I couldn't continue reading, because at that very moment, I heard the door knob turning.

Oh no! Someone's coming inside.
