Chapter Three

Blurs that were shaped like humans ran frantically around me. I breathed in deeply, letting my vision clearer as I slowly exhaled. The blurs were definitely actual humans. Instinctively I shut my eyes, hoping that no one had noticed me waking. I slowly opened my eyes open a little just enough so that I could take in my surroundings, I was squeezed inside a glass tube in the middle of what appeared to be a giant hospital room filled with overworked scientists and doctors. I was annoyed that no one was watching to see if the girl who almost died in a fire was still alive. so I cleared my throat. A girl with a lab coat that was much too big for her overly skinny body came running over to me. Her dirty blonde hair was pulled into a tight yet messy ponytail, there were small squares pressed into her pointy nose, to keep from falling.

Giving me a crooked smile she asked gently, "yes? "

"where is my family?", I demanded.

" dead. "she said in a matter of fact and even slightly bored tone. She turned sharply and was engulfed by the hurried crowd.

For some reason I could not cry it was already at the back of my mind somewhere, I knew the terrible truth. instead my bitter distaste for the ponytail girl grew. How could anyone be so unfeeling? Then I realized something: all the "scientists"in this room were robots made to look like humans, there were red and blue pupils dancing around their eyes in a way that was sort of menacing. Goosebumps Rippled down my arm whenever one of them looked at me.

"Experiment 82394, we have some questions to ask you. "a cold voice demanded.

"EXCUSE ME?!?! "I yelled, breaking out of my tube, and angrily throwing my head in the direction of The Voice, "I am a human , not a play toy, I have a name!!!".

The robots all turned my direction, perfectly in sync, creating a loud mechanical noise, and revealing 2 human shapes in the shadows, on the other side of the Glass Prison.

Coming from the taller of the shapes, the cold voice returned. It laughed emptily, "Oh, really, Take a look at yourself experiment 82394 ".

Both figures stepped into the light , the tall one was smirking, he had Sleek brown hair, and Tiny eyebrows, that you could barely see, around his huge eyes. He had a round nose, and his chin looked like the corner of a triangle. His spotless white lab coat covered his entire body, so that besides his face, the only things you could see were the shiny black boots, peeking out from the bottom of his coat. And his clear gloves, that barely fit his bony hands. He looked a little older than 40. the shorter one looks my age (15) .He had ruffled brown hair, and bright blue eyes, with deep rims under them. He was tan, and had an excessive amount of freckles. He looks well-fed, but not too well-fed, and looked very solemn. His lab coat had lots of stains, and only reached his knees; his black boots had spots of brown on them, and looked way too small.

The Tall man spoke again, annoyed, " Look At yourself,".

Reluctant to listen to the cruel man, I slowly looked down at my arm.
