Day 6

The sixth day was more refreshing. Waking up with more energy to continue, she jumped to the fourth floor, where she would discover the truth of the mentioned war.

Little Mara didn't take long to go to the fourth floor. Not wishing to get more confused with the books, she searched and searched, considering which book titles could benefit her knowledge the most.

As she continues to search, she found something else strange on the level. The books move on their own. She had never even heard of that, let alone seen it.

The Guardian saw her little Master's expression. The corner of his lips lifted.

"These books are not that they have a life, it's just that some have the baptism with the aura of a high-level vampire commander and the aura got soaked in the book, making it develop a non-human consciousness, but like an instinct..." Heinrich explained, seeing the little Master's astonishment.

"I don't understand. The vampire's aura attached to the books and these have a kind of spirit that has no consciousness, but reacts by instinct and because of that is that they can move?"

"That's right." This time it is the Guardian who affirms him.

Heinrich explains in a complicated and roundabout way with his words and likes to use incoherent sentences...

"But... Why couldn't I see the movement from the second floor?" Little Mara narrowed her eyes.

"That's because of the seal that this level has, you can see the normality of the tower from inside the first level, but you can't see the abnormality, because of a spell made by a witch friend of the Supreme Leader from that time." The Guardian explained.

"Witches? They exist?" Raising her eyebrow, little Mara asked with disbelief.

"They are to us, what we are, to humans, myths, fables, legends that are not true, but in the eyes of the imagination we exist, so why can't Witches exist in the same way?

Witches are more human; they can blend into the human world, which does not have much direct connection with the supernatural world."

The Guardian spoke, but specified little about them. And little Mara didn't ask more when she saw he didn't want to talk about it any further.

'All in good time.'

Said a voice from deep in her soul...

Yes, all in time, she may know many more things than she has read about until today, she may know about the existence of the other supernatural creatures, but that doesn't mean that she will have encounters with them in the next ten or twenty years...

Or that's what she thought...

As she reached for one of the moving books, the book dodged her hand, leaving her frozen at the moment.

Heinrich saw the little girl's expression of discomfort and laughed loudly.

The Guardian shook his head in response to his laughter.

Little Mara frowned and pressed her lips together, staring blankly into the spot where the book was.

"Use a small part of your aura to trap the book, then use a drop of blood to open it, it works like the books on the third level."

"Oh!" little Mara's eyes opened wide as they lit up.

The aura surrounding her grew by a centimeter, thinking it would be enough to make some books stop, but... It was too much...

The books, sensing the aura coming from the little girl stopped, ALL of them, stopped. But that was not all...

~BANG BANG ~

~ CLACK CLACK ~

~ SWOOSH ~

The books fell to the ground, one after the other.

Little Mara stood there, dumbfounded.

The Guardian opened his eyes wide and was speechless.

Heinrich... If only he could show a serious expression of shock.

When she came out to her senses, little Mara did not hesitate any longer and read the titles...

After searching for a while, she found one that makes her body shake.

[ WAR I ]

The book caught her attention because someone wrapped it in reddish furry leather.

When she opened it, she got immersed in the reading.

During history there have been two wars, the first was at the time of the founders of each clan, it's said that each founder was human, but because of their greed and pure evil in their hearts they fell under a curse by a witch who made a deal with humans.

Planning crimes against humanity, one of them betrayed them, giving their whereabouts to the witch, as well as something that each of them possessed, in exchange for being excluded, but the witch did not let him aside, and included him in the curse, because of the contract he had with the humans.

Each curse differed from the other, depending on the crimes they committed they got sentenced to create a new race, having nine races. The recorded ones are Vampires, Lycans or Werewolves, Forest Spirits, Elves, Fairies, and demons, leaving in mystery the other unknown races.

The power-hungry, the violent, the cowardly, the arrogant, the disdainful, and the ones harming, influencing humans to do bad things, each race represents a feeling that made them commit crimes against humanity.

Unleashing hatred between themselves because no one knew who was the traitor in their midst, but it is said that the traitor received one of the unspeakable races.

Not knowing it, the discord between them was born and grew every day, as did their territories and their descendants, who were not only their sons and daughters but also those they transformed, sharing the curse.

As the years passed, the conflicts with each race grew, discrimination murders, humiliations, kidnappings, the races used the others as pets; they tortured them to the point of killing in public, there was no law among them, the only law that existed was that the strongest devours the weakest.

Being at the height of each, creating armies of their own races, they all clashed.

The war began not only for territory, but also for the hatred sown in their hearts that grew to a point where they could not even hear that the others were alive...

Avenging old and new hatred, they killed each other, there was no end.

Red, black, green, blue, yellow, and brown blood ran through the nine territories, until two races, which were the weakest, disappeared, leaving the triumphant ones alive and ruling.

But when they saw they could reach the point of extinction, they accomplished an agreement.

The agreement, called 'GATE'.

Which allowed them to live in 'Harmony', one with the other...

When the war ended, the direct descendant of each clan founder, the one cursed by the witch, agreed and chose their territories, leaving aside the two races that perished.

"Wow, so that's what happened back then? They choose the shape of the territories that way?" Little Mara's eyes sparkled as she discovered information she didn't know.

"Yes, and no," Heinrich answered before the Guardian did, thinking that the Guardian would tell him all at once. He wanted to play the mysterious card.

But the little girl didn't have time to let him be, so he asked the Guardian.

"They chose the place of the territories, but they didn't choose the shape, because no one thought of doing it..."

"Oh..." little Mara got discouraged when she heard the answer, but after a few seconds, her cheerful mood returned...

"If I find the War II book, I will probably know more, this story is interesting, not like the ones I read before, I just hope to read more... But for today, I think I will keep looking for other books to read..."

"These kinds of stories are fun!" She screamed in excitement, and continue running through the books on the floor.

Neither Heinrich nor the Guardian stopped her from continuing reading. The thirst for knowledge is not latent in her, but the thirst for tales...

'She hasn't changed at all!' They both signed in their hearts.

Oh... so close... She is getting at the bottom of some stuff... forbidden stuff...
