Chapter 48. Doflamingo's realisation

Doflamingo and Ace stopped their fight, as Doflamingo's face turned towards the big tower in the centrum of the island, his face showed reluctance while he was panting.

Ace looked fine, only a few sweat drops on his forehead but no damage taken. He enjoyed this fight. Doflamingo had much, much stronger Haki than Crocodile.

Doflamingo's glasses had fallen off his face as he had a burst lip. He also had a cut on his forehead that would most definitely leave a big scar.

Doflamingo seemed to understand what's going on as he started remembering hundreds of people he had ordered to be turned into toys, if not thousands.

All around Dressrosa, people starting crying as memories of their loved ones came alive. Toys suddenly puffed into human beings while crying out of pain and joy.

Somewhere on Dressrosa, a lady with pink hair and armour, fell to her knees as she started weeping like a child. Her name was Rebecca, and she was the former princess of dressrosa when the Riku family was in sovereignty.

She remembers how she had seen her mother die, then she was saved by a toy that took care of her from that point onwards.

The toy took care of her, protected her and taught her how to fight.

It was at this moment that her memories of her father came alive, and she realised that all these years, her father had protected and sheltered her while carrying the pain of being forgotten, yes, the toy that protected her, was her forgotten father.

She continued sobbing while hugging her knees.

Below Dressrosa was an underground factory, the same factory that was creating SMILE's, artificialdevil fruits.

The same underground factory was right now in chaos as midgets and toys rebelled, led by pirates.

There was a huge battle going on, and in the forefront of it all, Cavendish, Spikewards, Bepo and Gaga was fighting with their all.

Cavendish was fighting Diamante, one of the 3 elite officers of Donquixote pirates, and they were pushing eachother to their limits.

The others were holding their own against other strong army officers such as Buffalo, Machvise and Giola. The midgets and toys were battling against the army.

Suddenly, amdost the battle, to the surprise off everyone, the toys started puffing into human beings.

Everyone got surprised and started understanding what was going on.

The battle raged on.

On top of the Tower, JoJo Pojo jumped up and then used the force of his fall to punch down towards the tower, where Pica had hidden himself underneath all the stone bricks.

As he fell down clouds appeared in the sky and a thunderous lighting struck down towards the elbow of JoJo and then traveled down his forearm and down to his fist.

And as his fist collided with the tower, a mind boggeling force of lighting traveled through the tower and hit Pica right in the chest, blasting him out of the tower and shooting him towards the center of Dressrosa.

This move was essentially seen through all of Dressrosa as lighting suddenly struck the tower out of nowhere.

Ace and Doflamingo was about to start round two, but Doflamingo suspended their fight as Doflamingo saw lighting strike hit his tower.

More and more things were going awry, which made him boil in anger. The veins on his forehead were about to burst!

Suddenly, after the strike of lightning, something flew through the sky like a bullet.

'Huh, is it a Bird? Is it a canon? No, it's, it's PICA??!' Doflamingo realised. As his eyes widened.

He used his strings to catch the flying Pica.

Ace just looked on with a smile, happy that his crewmates where treating the Donquixote pirates like unwanted toys.

Just as Doflamingo caught Pica, a flash of lighting flashed towards them.

Before Doflamingo could react, the flash of lighting struck Pica, blasting him further away from them, as the lighting materialised beside Ace.

"CHAHAHA Sorry captain for disrupting your fight, I'll be on my way then!" Then in a flash of light, JoJo Pojo was gone, following the flying Pica that had been blasted away once again.

Doflamingo stood there, not quite following what had just transpired.

He looekd at his burnt strings then looked in the direction that Pica had been blown away in.

"Lightning Logia?" He muttered.

Doflamingo was aware of that legendary fruit.

But that fruit hadn't been seen for so long that it had become just that, a legend. It wouldn't be completely wrong to call it the only mythical Logia devil fruit out there, because that's what it essentially was, a myth.

Yet right in front of his eyes he had seen someone use abilities that could only be described as lightning logia-like.

Doflamingo had realised the many layers to Demon Ace Pirates by now.

Their captain was certainly strong enough to content with the strongest of the sea. People in the bracket of Admirals, Warlords, maybe even Emperors.

But that wasn't all, the Demon Ace pirates also had another freak with conquerors haki.

And now, someone with lightning Logia abilities.

Doflamingo could only hope that these rookies hadn't learnt about armament and observation Haki yet, otherwise, his empire might fall today, or at least be shaken to the point of no return.

Suddenly, Doflamingo realised one more point, why was that face so familiar? The one with lightning abilities?

Ace's smiled while seeing how Doflamingo's face took on so many expression at once. Doflamingo was looking at the direction of JoJo and seemed to try to remember something, so Ace decided to help him out.

"That was the vise-captain of Demon Ace pirates, Hammerfist JoJo Pojo, ever heard of him?" Ace said innocently.

As soon as Doflamingo heard that name his face soured, he knew this name.

A decade ago, JoJo Pojo was creating havoc in grandline. No vice-admirals could stop him. It took an admiral to make him dissapear. But his name hadn't been spoken of for almost a decade, and now he joined a rookie? Worst part is that he not only knows haki, he is proficient in it and he also has conquerors Haki.

Doflamingo realised that he had lost Dressrosa.

"You.... Have just started a war with Kaido the beast, He was the one behind all of this." Doflamingo said, hoping to put terror into the heart of Flame Emperor Ace.

"I know." Ace said nonchalantly as he poked his nose.

Domingo chuckled. "You might now, but it seems like you don't understand." He said as he stepped back.

Ace waited to see what move he would do.

"BIRDCAGE" He spoke as he raised his palm

Towards the sky.

An immense amount of strings shot through his palm towards the sky then it unravelled in the sky, creating an umbrella-like domain of strings that covered the whole Dressrosa.
