Chapter 20. For family.

Warning Robin doesn't really join his crew, read to the end of the chapter. Input this notice here because I did say earlier than Naminis the only one from the straw hats to join Demon Ace Pirates. This fact doesn't change.

Bonney asked her questions, but sadly the sand reptile didn't know the whereabouts of her father.

Nico Robin was forced to willingly join the Demon Ace Pirates and after that they hurried to the capital to find a tomb.

It took a few days but they finally found the entrance to it and inside they found what they were after, a big stone with ancient text on it.

Nico Robin wrote down everything and then before they escaped they got surrounded by the royal guards.

Ace stopped his crew from taking action and then they were taken to the king for judgement.

Ace explained that they were the ones to defeat Crocodile and explained what the reptile's evil plans were.

The king tried his best to confirm whether the Demon Ace Pirates spoke the truth but by the time the royal guards arrived in rainbase, Crocodile was long gone and so was most of his subordinates.

Most of the city was destroyed but the people had luckily survived as they escaped the city before the fight broke out.

They found some evidence to support the claims of Demon Ace Pirates and even a few low level subordinates whom all admitted the truth.

In the end, the king, Nefertari Cobra released them. The crew hurried to town to refill everything they needed while Ace stayed back, he wanted to speak to the king, alone.

"My King, we can't leave you alone with this pirate!" One of the royal guards refused to leave.

"Enough! Stay just outside the doors, I'll call for help if he tries something!" For some reason, the king's gut told him that he could trust Ace.

The guards unwillingly all went outside the king's hall and only Ace and the king were left alone, at least to the king's knowledge.

Ace noticed a young teenager hiding in the room secretly listening in, but he couldn't care any less as he knew that it was the princess.

"What information did you want to relay to me?" The king asked curiously.

"Before that, the information I have... Is complicated, you can't ask me how I got it, in all honestly, if you believe me or not is up to you, but I do recommend that you take heed to it." Ace warned.

The king frowned, and after a second of thinking he nodded.

"It's about the relationship between your lineage and world government!" Ace said making the king stand up in surpsie.

He had since long time ago had his suspicions and worries, but he couldn't find any information on what he was seeking.

"Yes, your ancestor that disappeared 800 years ago... She was a D... And the promise between the royal families were broken... IM sits on the throne!" Ace spoke. Each sentence was like a shot to the king's heart as he fell back on his throne.

He didn't speak for a full minute trying to figure out how feasible the story was, in the end he simply acknowledged Ace's words with a nod.

"Then why tell me this?" The king asked.

"To warn you, I've seen that you're a good king, just as your ancestor was a good queen... Good people often get themselves in trouble..." Ace said

"Are you telling me to not act? Not get myself in trouble?" The king pondered.

"Indeed, soon an ancient prophecy will be fulfilled... It will take about another 5 to 10 years befor it can be fulfilled. I'm hoping that you won't try to involve yourself with the world government more than you need to. Because you'll be an important ally in the..." Before Ace could continue the king cut him off.

"How do you know that I'll be an ally?"

Ace chuckled.

"Because Nefertari D. Lili's ally, Joyboy will soon return and fight her enemies, isn't it obvious whose side you'll be on" Ace said.

Normally, most people wouldn't understand much of his words, but the king wasn't most people. He stood up in surprise with wide eyes. He was somewhat aware of the prophecy that had been secretly told by his ancestors.

"H-how certain are you of his return" the king asked, he could barely contain himself.

"He has already returned, sadly, at this moment he isn't aware of it himself." Ace said with another chuckle.

The king sat down again, he felt like his views and been turned totally upside down.

By the time he came back to his senses he noticed that Ace was gone.

One week later, in the middle of the sea, The black Pearl was sailing.

"CAPTAIN! WE'VE GOT NEW BOUNTIES!" Yennow shouted happily as he gathered everyone around!

"Hahaha I've gotten 70,000,000 berries! A raise by 50,000,000, ITS ALL THANKS TO MY MIGHTY YELLOW AFRO!" Yennow shouted happily.

"TSK, only 65,000,000? I'm even lower than Yennow?!" Spikewards wasn't happy as he used to be slightly more wanted than Yennow.

"EEEH WE'VE BOTH GOT 130,000,000!" Both Uroge and Scratchmen Apoo shouted simultaneously.

"N-n-no way... 40,000,000 berries... But I barely did anything..." Nami whispered with a pale face.

"Humph, those blind dogs only gave me 65,000,000?!" Gaga said dissatisfied.

"WHAT ABOUT ME THEN, WHY IS IT ONLY 29,000,000 STILL?!!!" Ronaldino Ranaldo cried out gaining the attention of everyone.

"Huh, you're right... PFFFAHAHHAHA YOURS DIDN'T CHANGE AT ALL!" Spikewards cried out.

"WAHAHHA LOSER!" Ace cried out laughing.

"NEVER SEEN ANYTHIN' LIKE IT APAPAPAAPA!" Apoo laughed as well.

As they were all laughing, someone was reading books a little further away from them, seing how they interacted with eachother, she couldn't help but to laugh herself.

"Wait a second... What's captain's bounty?" Ronaldo said, dying to change the subject as he felt embarrassed.

"Eh, huh, ermm it's.... It's... 300,000,000!!!?" Yennow shouted in surprise

Both Nami and Apoo suddenly felt like they had red laser dots on their foreheads.

How many powerful bounty hunters and marines would come after them now?.....

"Don't worry about it, the stronger they come, the better!" Ace tried to relieve Nami and Apoo of their worries as he saw them very worried.

Nami looked at her captain's face, for a second she felt like killing him but seing how he was so innocently trying to relieve her worries, she felt even more hopeless.

"I'm dead... So dead..." She whispered as she walked back to her room.

Ace noticed that Robin stood by the railings and seemed out of it, so he walked towards her.

"What's wrong?"

"... I can't go with you." She said.

"..."

"Thank you, you showed me what it means to have nakama, but this isn't my place." Nico Robin said, but this time she had a genuine smile on her face.

"Well truth to be told, I already knew that." Ace finally chuckled, gaining a raised eyebrow from her.

"I would love to continue sailing with you... But I have have one more thing to finish before I can sail with... Nakama."

"I won't pry, but take heed to my advice." Ace said seriously.

"?"

In about three years, a rookie pirate will start sailing. He is kind hearted and will become a force to be reckoned with." Ace said.

She looked sceptical.

"Go finish all your personal stuff, then find him and sail under him." Ace said.

"Who is he, and why him?" She finally asked. She was originally escaping from this lovely ship because there were things she had to take care of, and because she was worried that if the world government came to know the the devil child and a Gol D. Sailed together, they would bring down the world to kill all of them. She didn't dare to bring this fate to Demon Ace Pirates.

"Because he's kind, but also foolish. But he will become the next pirate king." Ace said.

This time, Robin straightened her back as she heard those words, she wasn't a fool.

The world government? No, it's wasn't just them, if Ace's words are true, that upcoming pirate would make enemies with all of the world.

"I know you don't want to join us because you're afraid of inflicting harm on us, and I could tell you that it really doesn't matter since I will fight the world government soon anyways... But, Monkey D. Luffy, Captain of the Straw hat pirates is what you need, and you're what they will need." Ace smiled.

"I see." She had never heard those names, she would have to keep an eye open for them.

"Just promise to give him a chance if your paths cross." Ace said.

"... I promise."

"Good, you can take this boat and return to Arabasta and leave from there, but you should hurry as Marines are on their way.

She nodded before moving on.

Truthfully, she was sceptical about what she heard, and even conflicted as she wanted to join Ace... But maybe, maybe she would find her family with this Monkey D. Luffy.
