Chapter 13. Funny guys

Ace noticed that the laughing man had long arms with two joints in them instead of one, which made Ace curious about the person. He also wore a pink gown and orange headphones.

"What do you want!" Urouge shouted at the man as if he knew him.

"Urouge, to think that you would sail under someone else's flag, APAPAPA!" He laughed.

"Tsk, Apoo you bastard, do you want to fight again!" Urouge seemed easily annoyed by the fellow he called Apoo, yet he was still smiling.

"Hmph, I don't fight juniors, I'm not shameless like you!" Apoo said, as if he was stronger than Ace and didn't want to bully him, yet it was Apoo that choose to keep a distance between their groups.

"Are you a musician?" Ace asked, curious about the fellow.

"APAPAPA, yes, I ate the Tone-Tone No mi!" He said proudly as his arm turned into a saxophone. Apoo started playing his hand saxophone.

Nami, Urouge, Spikeward and Yannow all frowmed at the weirdo, But Ace could see that Apoo was just very happy about music.

"How about you join my crew as the musician?" Ace asked with a kind smile.

"APAPAPA, I don't want to sail with the strongest crew!" Apoo said in a mock tone.

It seemed like Apoo had heard their earlier exclamation of dreams.

"Is that so?" Ace said with a smile before he took off, hurrying towards Apoo and his goons.

Ace was very fast, but it seemed like Apoo was no slacker himself as he reacted and started running away. Yet he couldn't run more than 5 meters before he felt a punch to the back of his head.

Apoo fell unconscious.

As for Apoo's goons, they only saw Ace flash towards them and their captain run away, the next second they heard a smack and Ace stood behind them with their unconscious Captain in his arm.

Ace noticed that Apoo seemed cowardly, and that was why he lost so fast, had Apoo fought head on, he might have lasted a while longer.

In fact, Ace felt by Apoo's haki that he might be slightly stronger than even Urouge.

"From now on, I've taken you as my crew members!" Ace said to the two goons.

"You can't do this!" The blonde female goon said

"I'm a pirate, taking things is what I'm good at!" Ace responded.

"We aren't things!" The Fatty goon beside her said.

But Ace ignored them as he threw their former captain at them and started walking back to his group.

The two goons looked at each other helplessly and followed Ace while carrying their former captain.

They knew that Apoo was very strong but even more cowardly.

"This might actually be a good thing now that I think about it?" The fatty whispered to the blonde female goon.

"You're right!" she answered.

The two had only joined Apoo because they lost to him. At first they were happy to follow a stronger captain but they soon noticed how Apoo always kept a distance between himself and others, avoided stronger opponents and fighting weaker ones.

It's not that Apoo was spineless, more like he didn't take unnecessary risks.

After all he had once protected them against a strong Marine, they had only survived because of luck, but they knew he had his heart in the right.... Or at least close to the right place.

"So what's your names?" Nami asked exaperated as the goons joined them.

"I'm Gaga!" The blonde female said.

"And I'm Ronaldino Ronaldo!" the fatty with a mustache said.

"And this is Scratchmen Apoo"

They all introduced themselves to eachother.

Ace was very happy, he had gained 2 capable crew members with lots of potential and four goons with good potential.

His haki was so advanced that he could feel the evil and good nature and intention of others, he could also feel if they had potential to have strong Haki.

That's why he was so happy right now as both Urouge and Apoo had lots of potential, enough to stand on the upper echelons of the sea.

"So who is the vice captain?" Spikewards asked.

They all stilled at this, after all, vice-captain was the second in command. They looked at each other waiting for the reveal.

"He hasn't joined the crew yet." Ace said as he continued to walk.

"Haa, then let's hurry and get him captain!" Gaga said, she had realised that her new captain likes to trick people into his crew and kidnap them, so she got excited to see that happen to others.

As they walked throughout the island, exploring the culture, they spoke to eachother and got to know one and other.

Apoo had woken up long time ago but he was to ashamed so he kept pretending to be asleep as he got carried around.

"So what's everyone's bounty?" Nami asked as she realised how she was surrounded by wanted pirates.

"I have 50,000,000 berries on my head!" Urouge said with pride, he was only recently became a pirate after all.

"25,000,000 berries!" Spikeward said

"34,500,000" Gaga said.

"29,000,000" Ronaldino Ronaldo said.

"20,000,000" Yennow said sheepishly, thinking he had the lowest bounty.

"Our captain has 130,000,000 berries." Urouge said with admiration.

"cough cough" The sleeping Apoo coughed as if they had forgotten to introduce his bounty, but he was still "asleep"

"Oh right Apoo has 85,000,000 Berri's on his head!" Gaga said.

It took a second for everyone to realise that Apoo had just coughed.

"SMACK!" Urouge slapped Apoo's face

"Bastard don't pretend to sleep!"

"I WAS ASLEEP UNTIL YOU SLAPPED ME!" Apoo lied.

"WANNA FIGHT YA BASTARD," Urouge shouted angrily.

"BRAWNS BUT NO BRAINS, LET ME SHOW YOU HOW TO FIGHT WITH MUSIC!" Apoo shouted equally angry.

"SMACK"

"SMACK".

Nami smacked both with her Iron Rod.

"Oh right, navigator-chan, what's your bounty?" Suddenly spikewards asked, making everyone look at her.

"Erm, about that..." She said cutely. she hadn't received her bounty yet and for some reason she got shy because of that.

Ace just smiled as he listened to their antics.

"Ahhh I can't wait to slap Kaido's face!" Ace suddenly proclaimed as he felt good about his new crew members, sadly, when they heard his words, they didn't feel as good.

All of them halted.

Ace felt that they stopped so he turned around and saw that they all looked at him weirdly.

"Ah don't worry guys, it's because I admire his strength, that's why I want to slap his face and steal his daughter." Ace said, relieving their worries, sadly it didn't relieve anything.

"HOW IS THAT SHOWING ADMIRATION ARE YOU TRYING TO KILL US!!??" Nami finally released her anger.

She felt like her captain sometimes did things just so she would get rubbed the wrong way.

"Hold on, where is Apoo?" Ace finally asked, making both Gaga and Ronaldino Ronaldo sigh in exaperation.

"He is very cowardly... as soon as he heard you say Kaido he already ran away..." Gaga sighed.

"Hahahaha what a coward indeed, this means that I'm stronger and braver than him!" Urouge laughed.

"WHAT STRONGER? I'M JUST PREPEARIG TO BACK YOU GUYS UP IF NEEDED!" Apoo shouted angrily from behind a corner, he finally felt the situation safe enough to reveal himself after he looked around to make sure there was no Emperor around.

"Ah what a weird crew I have!" Ace said happily. He felt like, the weirder the nakama, the bigger the potential.

'You're the weirdest one!' Nami thought as she rolled her eyes at him.
