Gus was awake

Gus, who was sleeping in a European-style bed, woke up and opened his eyes. The maid who was taking care of him immediately rushed to inform Arnold. Arnold then went straight to Walter's chamber to report that Gus was awake. As he stood in front of Walter's room, he knocked a few times before entering. Walter, who was busy with his daily paperwork, looked up at Arnold and asked, "What happened? Why are you coming like that? Is there a problem?"

Arnold bowed his head and said, "Sorry, my lord, for my sudden interruption, but Gus, who has been unconscious for some time, has just woken up. A maid who was assigned to take care of him informed me about his condition." Upon hearing this, Walter's mood lightened a little.

Hearing that Gus was awake from his unconscious state, Walter stood up from the table, saying, "Alright, lead me to Gus's room." As he said that, he opened the door and entered the hallway to go to Gus's room. Midway, Flora, who had heard from the maid that Gus was awake, immediately rushed to meet him. On the way, Flora and Walter met.

Seeing her grandfather, Flora greeted him, saying, "Hello, Grandfather. Good morning. Where are you going?"

Walter responded, "Oh, Flora, I am visiting Gus. He has woken up from his coma. Did you not receive the information?"

Flora replied, "Yes, Grandfather, I did. A maid came and told me that Gus was awake, so I am going to visit him." As she said that, Walter looked at Arnold and said, "Shall we talk on the way to Gus's room? It seems like you want to ask some questions."

Flora, who heard that, immediately said, "Yes, let's move." Then the two of them moved toward Gus's room.

As they walked, Flora asked about the battle Walter had with Leon. "So, Grandfather, why did you fight with Leon like that? You broke all his bones. You know he was my savior. Why did you treat him like that?"

Hearing this, Walter felt like a lightning-struck tree. His heart ached to hear his granddaughter scold him for going hard on Leon. But he was also jealous. She had made a contract with Leon, who was a nobody she barely knew. It was not acceptable for Walter. He could see his granddaughter falling for Leon, and he would not accept that. He wanted his granddaughter to marry a person with the greatest strength, someone who could defeat him in a sword fight. But he did not want to make his granddaughter unhappy. He had accepted Levi for his granddaughter, but Levi had betrayed her. If Leon turned out to be the same as Levi, he could not make the same mistake again. However, he also wanted to make Leon strong enough to stand by Flora against any enemies. That was why he had agreed to help Leon become a complete god.

Walter, responding to Flora, said, "Don't worry, my granddaughter. He is fine. I think I heard the report from Arnold that he is recovering at a fast pace. There are no life-threatening injuries on his body. He is completely fine, trust me." As he said that, he showed a confident smile on his face. Then Flora and Walter reached Gus's room door. Arnold knocked a few times, and a voice came from inside, saying, "Come in, the door is open."

As they entered the room, they saw Gus, who had been in a coma for a few days, now sitting up in bed. A maid was feeding him some food. As Walter and Flora entered the room, Gus immediately looked at them and said, "How are you, Sister and Grandfather?" He spoke in a low voice because he didn't have the energy to speak louder.

Seeing Gus awake and speaking, Flora and Walter hurried to his side, their faces filled with concern and relief. They began to ask him how he was doing and what had happened to make him the puppet of Levi.

Gus, his voice still weak, started to explain, "I received a quest to defeat a high-rank wolf. I gathered some friends, and we went to the forest to defeat the monster." He paused, taking a deep breath as the effort of speaking drained his limited energy.

Walter placed a reassuring hand on Gus's shoulder. "Take your time, Gus. We are here for you."

Gus nodded slightly and continued, "We were deep in the forest, tracking the wolf. Everything was going as planned until Levi showed up. At first, we thought he was there to help us. He claimed he had valuable information about the wolf's lair. We trusted him." Gus's voice wavered, his eyes reflecting the betrayal he felt.

Flora, holding Gus's hand, asked softly, "What happened then, Gus?"

Gus closed his eyes for a moment, gathering his thoughts. "Levi led us to a part of the forest we had never seen before. It was dark, the air was thick with a strange energy. Suddenly, he turned on us. He used some sort of magic to bind us, rendering us helpless. I tried to fight back, but he was too strong. He laughed, saying he had been waiting for this moment to use us as pawns in his scheme."
