First Love Second Chance

Can a love which never even got the chance to start, end at all? Can a love be extremely beautiful but at the same time terribly excruciating? Can a love rend your heart but at the same time heal it just to make it beat stronger the second after? It can. Because Desiree' and River's love, was that kind of love. A love that can't be beared but at the same time it cannot be forgotten nor put aside. A love able to take your breath away and make your heart inflate. Where could a love like that lend? To the sweetest oblivion and terminal withdrawal or to an inexorable happy ending?

Bouquet

Desiree frowned her forehead and squeezed her eyes, she couldn't see anybody there, not even close. how could someone appear there, leave her a rose with a note and disappeare in a matter of an instant?

Her sister called again, harassing her so she reached her even if the last thing she cared about was that silly tradition of picking the bouquet. every other woman there probably waited that moment for the entire cerimony whereas there Desire was, mentally hoping the bouquet wouldn't fall even remotely close to her.

"Did you see anyone walk close to me earlier?"

She asked whispering to her sister who looked at her puzzled. "What?" was the answer.

"Did you see anyone there with me?"

"No, Desiree, did you drink too much? come on, it's catch time, raise your hands." she said gesturing with her head to reach the other girls.

Desiree rolled her eyes and then obeyed her. at the end, it was  still her day so she had to satisfy her desires.

she walked to the group of excited women, who wriggled to raise their hands, they even tiptoed thrusted forward and giggled like teenagers.

"Ready??" the bride screamed before charging and lauching the bouquet.

the bouquet reached a decent high before starting to fall on the crowd of screaming women.

just like destiny wasnt playing his cards already too well, the bouquet began falling exactly on Desiree, just as if she was a magnet attracting it, the poor girl shook her head and tried to move away from the position but the other women were raising their hands to catch it impeding her to budge.

The bouquet hit her head and drastically bounced on the ground.

"Desireee!!!" her sister scolded from afar.

Oh no...

everyone's glared at her.

She shrugged, "I'-I'm sorry, I do not want to marry anytime soon."

Sophia folded her arms and shook her head, "you could have catched it or at least pushed it away."

"Nonono, I would have never risked to touch it at all, what if I really marry then?"

Sophia laughed it off, "I'll take you a glass of sangria."

"You're the first woman on Earth who purposely doesn't catch the bouquet."

She heard a familiar voice behind her.

Was it who she really thought it was?

she turned around.

Riven, standing there, with a bright smile, a tall majestic figure and two deep eyes.

He could have her right there if he jsut wanted.

but she was too proud to admit that to herself.

not after he forgot her.

"I don't plan to marry anytime soon, it would be a bouquet wasted." she replied, shrugging, managing to remain serious and detached enough to pretend she didn't care about him as much as she truly did.

"Are you feeling better? You ran to the bathroom earlier, I was wondering if you're okay."

"I am thanks for asking."

He nodded, staring at her for a second as if he was hesitating whether to say more.

Sophia reached them holding two glasses of sangria, one for herself and the other for her sister.

"Do you want some? I just got one for my sister..." she said when she noticed Riven was there.

"No it's fine, we've got wine to the table, it was some guest's gift and they insisted to open it right away. I shall go."

he walked away, after offering the two sisters a smile.

"He's hot isn't him? and he was talking to you! maybe he's interested!"

Sophia exclaimed, her voice peeked quite loudly.

"Shut up! shhh! he could hear you!"

"Oh, so you agree with me!"

"No, no! I mean, he's kinda good looking but you know me, I don't.."

"I know I know! you're boring! weddings are made to make new couples, and flirt around. Come on, who hadn't had a fling in a wedding day?" She winked.

"Are you drunk?" Desiree shook her head checking her glass, it was already almost empty.

"A bit, but so you shall be, everyone will be drunk as well in a few hours."

'Oh God, the last thing I need is getting myself drunk, so I can scream to the world how mad I am at Riven for breaking my heart and putting me into oblivion.' She thought to herself.

"But before we wont be able to stand up due to the alchol, we have to dance and you will dance with Riven!"

"What?? Are you insane??" Desire widened her eyes and immediately shook her head. No way. Did she lose her mind?

"Come! Come!" She dragged her sister by the hand and walked to Riven who was talking with his brother.

she sticked her feet to the ground and curled her toes to drag in the opposite direction but somehow Sophia managed to win the battle and dragged her few meters afar. yet near enough to the brothers.

"He has a girlfriend!!" she screamed desperately the first plausible excuse that got in her mind.

"Oh.." Sophia mumbled.

Her face morphed in a disappointed facial expression as if she just pictured her plan go into pieces in front of her.

"Excuse me, who has a girlfriend?" Riven stared at the both of them confused.

then he planted his penetrating eyes on Desiree.

"and why are you dragging her? are you two drunk?" Riven added, his gaze stared at Sophia's hand squeezing her sister's hand so much that it turned red.

"If your girlfriend doesn't mind, my sister -" Sophia nudged Desiree shamelessly- "my sister would like a dance."

"What?"

"What?"

Desiree and River asked in chorus before they both looked at each other.

Oh-oh. Things weren't promising well.
