There's no questioning why people wouldn't practice magic. However, there was a man who reincarnated in that said world and unfortunately for him, he had little to no talent in magic. That was when he knew, he didn't need magic after all. “If I can't use magic, I'll just use my knowledge of guns to make up for it!” He said, not knowing what was to come in the future. --- If you want to be quick, you can skip to Chapter 8. Meeting Someone

Right after Kaalsuo met his talented older brother, Churnol went back to the academy on the same day due to his accumulated assignment which he didn't want to pile up and eventually become a huge burden.

For Churnol, meeting his younger brother felt rather delightful as he always somewhat wanted to become a cool older brother to his younger siblings thus he tried his best to entertain Kaalsuo.

In addition to that, he had already grown fond of Kaalsuo and when the time had finally come for him to leave, he was slightly upset at it but it is what it is.

On the other hand, Kaalsuo didn't know to react to Churnol's arrival. At first, he was hyped and when he found out Churnol was merely two years older than Zwischez, he immediately denounced that thought and only looked forward to his brother's magic.

Although Kaalsuo had already figured out that he was indeed an envious dickhead, he still couldn't give up his pride of being a civilised and mature member of the homo sapiens species which is alone; very ironic.

Still, Kaalsuo did look forward to Churnol's future visits only because he wanted to witness more of his brother's amazing magic.

Nine months had passed by since then.

Nothing much had happened during those nine months. In fact, it would be more suitable to just straight up say nothing.

More interesting things had happened in a month than nine whole months. During those nine months, the most entertaining thing Kaalsuo could and would possibly do was what infants were best at.

Besides crying, that of course would've been sleeping. Due to infants requiring much more of their time to sleep than the average adult, this would also apply to Kaalsuo and add the fact he had no responsibilities; for first time since he was a kid back on Earth, he could finally sleep to his heart's content.

Also, he somewhat abused this which lead him to gradually develop a slothful trait which would make him naturally tired for no particular reasons. Whenever he had the chance to sleep, he would immediately take that opportunity.

Nonetheless, Kaalsuo finally accomplished a great achievement since his birth. He was moved by invisible tears as he finally accomplished one life goal people have been ignoring.

That very life goal was of course, crawling. The moment he realised he could finally crawl, he was overjoyed with the thought of finally roaming around wherever he can without being bound to the shackles of immobilisation or in other words, his crib and his utterly pathetic legs until that moment.

Of course, there was still one obstacle that Kaalsuo couldn't pass over and that was his mother, Chrysea. He could crawl wherever he wanted but it had to be where she wanted as well which meant Kaalsuo really didn't have much freedom to begin with.

'Impossible. I'm touching grass?' Kaalsuo exclaimed in confusion while crawling on the razor sharp blades of grass, slightly scratching the skin of Kaalsuo.

Chrysea watched Kaalsuo from afar as she just sat down on the old trunk of a tree. Of course, she knew that Kaalsuo wouldn't cry on the sharp blade of grass because she indirectly caused Kaalsuo to slip out out of his crib and suffered a life threating injury which was a little bump on his head.

At the sound of a mysterious impact, her instincts immediately notified her about the disturbance and rushed into the house to see Kaalsuo on the floor. However, he wasn't even crying. In fact, it seemed like he didn't feel any pain to begin with.

Truth be told, Kaalsuo felt like crying during that period of utter pain. It was like falling head first into concrete. Nonetheless, he desperately held in the pain to roam around the house undetected from his mother's grasp.

It was an improvised plan to embark upon an exploration of the house he was residing in. He wasn't planning to do it at first but since he was on the ground, he did it anyways.

Unfortunately for him, his exploration plan was immediately detected and broken as he was again confined to the cage that was his crib. He didn't hold any grudges as he was already feeling tired for no reason at all and proceeded to do just that.

All of a sudden, her mother stood up from the trunk and called upon Kaalsuo to come back to her arms.

"Hell nah, I'm not letting you disrupt my first exploration into the unknown." Kaalsuo rebelled and with all his might, used his entire strength of his arms and legs to propel himself further away from the grasp of his mother.

Too bad his mother caught up with him under a second merely through walking. It seemed that Kaalsuo was again defeated by his mother.

"Hey! Zwischez! We're going to his house now! Wanna come?" Chrysea shouted as loud as she could and within less than ten seconds, Zwischez immediately sprinted to his mother's direction.

"What the.." Kaalsuo was shocked at the speed Zwischez suddenly sprinted. He assumed that the house that they were heading must be exciting and fun judging from Zwischez's immediate response.

Kaalsuo turned to his attention, looking at Zwischez's expression on his face and guess what, it seemed that he was incredibly excited to head there which indirectly lighten up Kaalsuo's mood.

"If Zwischez's excited, I'd be excited as well." Kaalsuo thought.

——————————————————————————————

"Woah, Zwischez wasn't kidding huh." Kaalsuo said with little sparkles on his eyes. He still had some tiny doubts on the house he was heading but now that he was there, he felt like a child again. Probably because he was currently a child.

It was a huge medieval watchtower with a huge telescope on the top of it. The roof shingles were painted of a dark yet saturated ocean blue color and all the shingles one way or another, had a differentiated random color of blue on it. Some were extremely bright and some were as dark as a black hole.

The watchtower's surroundings were outstandingly dark as shadows from the enormously high trees overshadowed the tower, creating a nearly endless darkness around the watchtower.

Thus; Shrubs, bushes, flowers and other kinds of small plants couldn't grow on those conditions so the only things that were on the ground were fungus and mushrooms. However, those funguses weren't normal as it naturally emitted all kinds of colored light which made the forest gleam with incredible lights. It was so mesmerising that you didn't even need to get high to see all these kinds of colors.

It looked like a paradise of eternal darkness with scattered lights of mushrooms illuminating the land.

"If it weren't for this young weak body, I would've long wandered around this place. Just looking at this beautiful landscape."

Chrysea then knocked on the door of the watchtower. It seemed that door hadn't been opened for a while due to the dust and cobwebs accumulated on the door.

"Hello~ Are you still here?" Chrysea called for the person living inside this watchtower. For Kaalsuo, although the surroundings of the watchtower was indeed beautiful, he still wasn't sure if the person his mother called to still lived in this watchtower due to the condition it's in.

The watchtower had multiple holes in it possibly because of the result of abandonment. There was also an abundance of moss growing up the side of some of the walls and in addition to that, multiple insects unknown to Kaalsuo were crawling on the side of the wall.

It appeared that watchtower had a massive problem of pests which slightly disgusted Kaalsuo. Insects in Kaalsuo's mind, were completely intolerable for him and would do anything to make them extinct if possible.

Either that or the person residing in the watchtower was ultimately lazy as a sloth.

Chyrsea's patience slowly but steadily diminished by the minutes which lead her to shout out "Hey! Are you still ali- Oh."

The door to the watchtower had opened a bit to let light into the watchtower and in the opening, there was a man which seemed to be in his late 50s. He had a long bushy beard up the way down to his chest and his hair was messy and untidy as if his hair was untidy for decades. There were huge black bags under his eyes and his face were slightly dry and wrinkled. Clearly, he wasn't taking care of his skincare very much.

The attire he was wearing was an dusty old robe stereotypical for wizards from those childhood books of magic or sorcery. The robe was also covered in some sort of black ash or leftovers from quite possibly some good ol' magic experiments. Of course, those were just Kaalsuo's assumption.

Also, the robe had no color whatsoever which indicated that he might've worn this robe for a bit too long.

The old man then glanced at everyone including Kaalsuo and responded "So? What are you waiting for? Go on, make yourselves at home."

Everyone with the exception of the man snapped back into reality and hurriedly headed inside the watchtower.

The moment Kaalsuo went inside the tower, he felt like he finally found his first love. The tower was amazingly bigger in the inside with countless of fully occupied bookshelves at the sides of the walls. There was also a tall wide spiral stairway which headed to both the countless bookshelves and perhaps the telescope from earlier.

Moreover, there was a desk filled to the brim with paper of strange markings and stacks upon stacks of various books. On one of the books which happened to be open, there were multiple kinds of weird shapes and circles. Some of the shapes looked as if it came straight out of a satantic ritual.

"So what brings you this hellhole?" The man asked as to why Chrysea had came here with her two children all of a sudden. It seemed that this man probably didn't like company.

"Well. I'm leaving these kids to your care meanwhile I'm going on a trip to-"

"Huh?" Kaalsuo was confused. He suddenly couldn't hear what the adults were discussing about. He then inwardly cursed for his ear's sudden malfunction.

Kaalsuo then glanced at Zwischez and was even more confused to see him trying to hear what they were talking about.

Zwischez even tried to put his hands by the side of his ears just to hear them but judging by his dumb expression at that moment, albeit both Zwischez and Kaalsuo couldn't hear anything at that moment.

To add to the confusion, it wasn't just the conversation that they couldn't hear. Practically everything around them, they couldn't hear. For a split second, Kaalsuo ultimately thought he and Zwischez were going deaf but that changed when things slowly became normal again.

"That was rather strange." Kaalsuo thought but instantly shrugged it off. Although he missed the chance of looking at the expressions of the adults due to his slight panic, he presumed that it must've just been some dirty talk about some suspicious questionable things which they might've had to censor for the kids.

However, that still wasn't a problem as there was still one problem Kaalsuo was facing.

His mother was leaving Kaalsuo and his brother to this dirty old man's care which was an absolute no for Kaalsuo. The reason for Kaalsuo's rejection of the old man was that he was clearly lazy. From the overgrowth of moss on the wall, the shitty robe he was wearing to the endless stacks of books, it was definitely obvious that he was a 100 percent sure that the man was lazy as hell.

"Alrighty. Kids, he will be looking after you in place of me as I'm going somewhere. Don't be jerks okay?" Chrysea informed Kaalsuo and Zwischez.

"Okay, mom!" Zwischez enthusiastically said with a huge genuine smile on his face. It was so genuine that even Kaalsuo was surprised.

"Maybe this old man isn't so bad after all" Kaalsuo thought.

"Bye, kids!" Chrysea said as she put Kaalsuo on the ground and headed out of the tower.

Kaalsuo was now free from the grasp of his mother but unfortunately for him, there was another obstacle blocking his way to complete freedom.

"Might as well be obedient for now" Kaalsuo thought as he hesitantly resisted the lingering urge to explore.
