A Special Day

Today was a special day.

Kaalsuo felt the need to groove with excitement as his oldest brother Churnol apparently was gonna visit the house to spend time with his family.

He was an infant so he couldn't actually dance but that didn't matter, he just wanted to groove.

According to stories and rumors of both his family's and the local villages, Churnol was a prodigy at magic.

Every once and while back when Churnol practiced his magic and still lived in the village, enormous streaks of thunder and lightning as they said would become an everyday occurrence to the villagers.

The night under the Churnol practicing his magic would've become daytime from the constant bright lights of his magic.

He later went to a magic academy. Kaalsuo didn't know what kind of magic academy it was, he just knew he studied there.

Kaalsuo knew that some of the info he had gathered was exaggerated due to the fact the village apparently had hardly ever saw actual magic besides the everyday magic they use to do chores.

Nonetheless, he wanted to see real magic in action as he would imagine magic to be like the ones inside the novels and comic he had read back on Earth.

So how did Kaalsuo know that Churnol would visit on this spectacular specific day?

Well, his mother Chyrsea had told him firsthand.

— The Afternoon —

Kaalsuo was waiting patiently, every second that passed by, his excitements and expectations didn't deplete.

It only increased by the seconds and he knew that his brother would come home by the fact his mother never lied to him before and also why would she lie to an infant anyways.

Chrysea lifted Kaalsuo up and went outside within a rush.

Suddenly, the earth began violently shaking like an earthquake and stopped a split second later.

The ground bursted and someone had emerged from the hole that was in front the house.

In his expectations, he perceived Churnol as a caring and loving big brother that helped around the house while still maintaining a good relationship with his family.

But it was quite the contrary, what Kaalsuo thought Churnol to be was actually a kid that seemed to just be two or three years older than Zwischez.

He was wearing an all white bright robe with a crest that resembled a tsunami on where the heart was. His hair was a very dark shade of purple which was uncommon to even all of the local villages around here.

The eyes were of the same color and the body of Churnol wasn't buffed nor was it skinny either. It was just your ordinary child's body.

Kaalsuo was surprised and soon began becoming disappointed by the turns of events. He did know that he shouldn't judge the book by it's cover but sadly, he was the type to judge the book by it's cover.

'Who the hell is that? Is that actually Churnol?' Kaalsuo expressed his disapproval.

Kaalsuo ranted here about how young prodigies still had the mentality of a child and questioned about the legitimacy of Churnol but we'll push aside this useless ranting and focus on the rest.

"Mom!" Churnol shouted in excitement. He couldn't visit his family so often from the tons of assignments he had in the academy.

"Churnol! Oh how I've missed you, you were gone for almost three months setting a new record of absence. I believe your previous record was a month." Chrysea said and hugged Churnol.

Churnol lowered his head in shame but he knew he couldn't do anything about the incidental record.

He yearned for the embrace of his family whenever he was exhausted from the dozens of assignment he needed to finish.

The only word he could say in response to his mother's words was "Sorry."

"Oh stop being too sentimental about it, I know that whatevers at the academy is very important to you." Chyrsea replied without realising the way she phrased her reply seemed really sarcastic.

Churnol misunderstood his mother's reply as a sarcastic one which lead him to feel even more guilty about himself.

Chyrsea noticed that her son had an even sadder face than before and realised her mistake but it had already been done.

The most she could do now is to just show him his new little brother.

"Forget what I said earlier, wanna see your lil' brother?" Upon those words, Churnol seemed to feel slightly more better than before and nodded.

Chyrsea had a streak of relief at Churnol's reaction and finally showed him his brother.

Now back to Kaalsuo,

Kaalsuo was still debating with himself about why the hell Churnol was a kid.

His mind was divided into factions that opposed Churnol, factions that supported Churnol and others that didn't know why the hell they are debating.

A part of him debated that the fact he was in a fantasy world, anything could and will happen just like the example right in front of his eyes.

The other parts of himself argued that Churnol was a literal kid and didn't deserve his magical talents.

A smallest but loudest of the parts basically told the all the other parts to shut the hell up and accept reality.

Also, he was becoming rather childish and there only had to be two reasons,

either the prolonged period of inhabiting the body of an infant had altered the mind of Kaalsuo or he was just being an envious dickhead.

A council was formed inside of Kaalsuo's mind to settle this dispute with a fair, civilized manner.

The parts of himself was a sphere that was of different colour and sat at a long meeting table with a green and red button in front of the parts.

"Now, we shall now officially settle this dispute democratically and fairly. Any objections?" A white sphere announced.

The spheres couldn't raise their hands as they of course were spheres so that resorted to jumping as an alternative.

Nobody jumped except for a brown shit coloured sphere that would randomly jump for no reasons whatsoever.

They ignored the shit sphere and the dispute was going to be settled by democratically voting whether to choose between reason #1 or reason #2 with the green and red buttons.

The council lasted a couple of microseconds but it felt like months inside the imaginary council. The spheres thought very carefully on their choice.

A few microseconds passed by and all of the council but one had decided their vote. It was 49 to 49.

The lone cyan sphere was actually the smallest that said the others to shut up and thought very carefully on their vote.

But in reality, the sphere actually didn't thought very thoroughly. In fact, it didn't even care about the council.

The cyan sphere then shouted, "Fuck it! Both of the reasons are correct. We're being envious and also what reason #1 told us about!" and slammed both the green and red buttons.

All of the council members were shocked and surprised to witness that event but it was too late.

The moment the final vote was passed, the imaginary council disintegrated in an instant.

It was after the incredibly short council that Kaalsuo realised,

He was a dickhead.

——————

After that revelation, his self esteem had cracked into several shards but it was his fault in the first place.

Shortly afterwards, Kaalsuo heard a footsteps that seemed to be headed to his directions.

He presumed a possibility that it could be Churnol so before Churnol could even see him, Kaalsuo had already spitted on his childish self, dropkicked it and last but not least, throw it into the incinerator.

His presumption was absolutely correct as Churnol was now within a metre's range.

Kaalsuo was examining the body proportions of his big brother as he did have an idea that the bodies of people had to do something with magic.

Churnol on the other hand didn't know how to react to his youngest brother. His brother had the appearance of an ordinary baby, nothing too special.

Of course, the only thing that was special about the baby was that some dude somehow reincarnated as that baby Churnol was currently looking at but he obviously didn't know that.

"Hi! Er.. What's his name again?" Churnol asked as he either wasn't told about his brother's name or he forgot. Chyrsea sighed and told Churnol the baby's name.

"Anyways, hi Kaalsuo! I'm your awesome handsome big brother and I'm excited to meet you." Churnol was joking by the fact he didn't have any narcissistic tendencies. He also raised his voice at the exaggerated part to hint that he was joking.

Kaalsuo unfortunately didn't get the joke at all and an image of Churnol came up his mind depicting Churnol as those generic manhua harem protagonists.

Kaalsuo couldn't care less though as he still just wanted to see his brother's magic in action.

Churnol had a talent in reading the expressions of people so he used that talent to his advantage to read his little brother. He didn't know what to do with Kaalsuo so he figured that could just read Kaalsuo's expression to see what he wanted.

Churnol didn't expect to read Kaalsuo's expression but he did it anyways and examined his little brother's expression so thoroughly it looked like his eyes were some kind of barcode scanner that scanned all of Kaalsuo's face.

As he expected, he couldn't read his expression. It might've been the fact that he was trying to read an infant's face which would've been very unpredictable unlike a child's face that clearly showed that they wanted something.

Although he couldn't read the expressions of his little brother, he still had a trick up his sleeves and finally showed off his magical powers. Countless of light blue-ish lights suddenly began popping out of thin air and combined to resemble a large feline with antlers.

Churnol then looked towards Kaalsuo to see his reaction to the show he had created. Kaalsuo was still unreadable but surprisingly, his eyes were sparkling from excitement.

Churnol smiled to those pure innocent eyes and he asked his mother if he could bring Kaalsuo outside for a while to show him something.

Chrysea nodded and brought Kaalsuo outside to spectate what Churnol was about to do.

Churnol then began chanting some strange words and in an instant, streaks of colorful flashes of lightning appeared gracefully moving about.

Although the stunt was already magnificent, Churnol felt like it wasn't enough and conjured six white flames that moved in a circular motion which encircled Churnol.

He flicked his fingers and the flames quickly bursted into all the colours in the rainbow creating a violent colorful dome around him.

It wasn't very good at combat as it was too flashy but it was perfect for occasions where it was just a show, not might.
