Then the medal was placed around his neck. "Thank you sir." He said, bowing politely.

The principal was all smiles. He guided Hao Yu to stand beside him and they were taken numerous pictures by the photographers.

Next, was a customary handshake with the other winners of the marathon and Hao Yu didn't want to do it but he had no choice for when he raised his head, he saw Xu Kaiwen already heading towards him.

"Hao Yu!" He called, grinning from ear to ear. "Congratulations. That was incredible."

Hao Yu smiled nervously as he shakily extended his hand. "Thank you. You were incredible too."

All he wanted was to hightail it out of there and find a peaceful place to arrange his meeting with the deities that brought him back.

"But not as incredible as you." Xu Kaiwen said, shaking Hao Yu's hand. "I mean, you were like lightening. I was busy trying to run past Wei Long when you just zipped past us to the finish line. It was amazing. How did you even do that?"

The problem was, Hao Yu didn't know either. Feeling uncomfortable, he tried to retract his hand but Xu Kaiwen only held him tighter and even moved closer.

Hao Yu wondered what was happening and how was Xu Kaiwen so much taller than him. He had to raise his head a bit to look at his face. Hao Yu could remember being the same height as Xu Kaiwen in his former life. He wanted to scream. Now he wasn't just an Omega but had decreased in height too?!

"You're a very talented Omega, Hao Yu." Xu Kaiwen said. "Do you have an Alpha?"

Hao Yu was dumbstruck. Did he have an Alpha? What sort of question was that?

The first person that came to his mind was Wei Long and he shook his head, wanting to rid the thought away. What Alpha? He had no Alpha and he would never have one!

Xu Kaiwen took it as Hao Yu saying no. He felt relieved and smiled. "That's great. I am also single. I do not have an Omega. Would you consider being my Omega?"

Hao Yu felt his head spinning. Was Xu Kaiwen, a man he considered his brother, asking him out???

"I-I....I..." He stuttered, unable to form a sentence. How to reject?! How to reject?!

Xu Kaiwen noticed that Hao Yu was having a hard time answering so he said. "I'm sorry for asking you something like that out of the blue. You're just so beautiful and talented that I couldn't help myself. I always said I won't be in a relationship until I graduate college but you, Hao Yu has made me change my mind. I would be a fool if I let you go." He then released Hao Yu's hand and backed away, giving him some space.

Hao Yu was finally able to breathe. He blinked, gazing at Xu Kaiwen, an Alpha he had once bathed with in the general showers of their school gym. An Alpha he had compared sizes with. An Alpha that had admired models in 18+ magazines with him.

It was the same Alpha, his buddy, that was asking him out and speaking so nicely? He, who knew Xu Kaiwen's pervy character, wanted to vomit!

"Please consider me to be your Alpha, Hao Yu." Xu Kaiwen said. "I will treat you right, cherish you and love you immensely. You do not have to give me an answer right away but please, do think about it. I will see you again in one week."

With that, Xu Kaiwen walked away, leaving him dazed.

He suddenly heard a burst of laughter coming beside him. He turned to see Chen Jie laughing so hard. "Oh my God, did you see your face when Xu Kaiwen asked you out! Hahahaha. You looked like you had seen a ghost. Then your face went different shades of green hahahaha!"

Hao Yu's face went dark. How would his face not turn different shades of green? A t

person he considered his brother wanted to be in a relationship with him. Still, he was annoyed that Chen Jie was laughing.

"Stop laughing." He huffed. "It's not funny."

But Chen Jie found it really funny. A lot of people had asked Hao Yu out but Hao Yu had always rejected them nicely. His reaction to Xu Kaiwen just now was quite funny.

A few other contestants came up to Hao Yu, shaking his hand and congratulating him.

Hao Yu was still weirded out by everything but Chan Jie was quite pleased. He draped an arm over Hao Yu's shoulder casually. "Our Hao Yu is amazing isn't he?" He said to them, grinning proudly as they were taking pictures. Some Alpha females and males even gifted Hao Yu flowers and chocolates. Some gave him love letters. They had all formed a small mountain on the table beside them.

"Quite courageous too. Going against so many Alphas like us." One of them replied.

Standing so close to Chen Jie, Hao Yu suddenly realised that Chen Jie was also taller than him!

He and Chen Jie used to be the same height! He wanted to cry. What the hell was wrong with the world? It wasn't enough that they changed his gender but they made his best buds taller than him. It really wasn't fair.

"Congratulations, Hao Yu." He suddenly heard a familiar voice say.

Hao Yu's heart shook tremendously and it began to beat faster and harder. His hand went to his chest as he winced in pain. Fuck. It was him again. How did he allow Wei Long to have such a strong hold on him?

His head was already lowered so he could only see Wei Long's trousers and clean black sneakers. He could recognise those sneakers. They were a gift from Wei Long's mother.

Wei Long's parents got divorced when he was five years old. His father won custody and Wei Long was only allowed to see his mother twice a month. The sneakers were a gift from her and Wei Long treasured them so much that he wore them everyday.

Hao Yu felt extremely sad when he remembered that he had burned them out of spite when he had a fight with Wei Long. At that time, he didn't even know how important they were to Wei Long. That action of his further solidified Wei Long's hatred for him.

"What do you want?" Chen Jie asked, hiding Hao Yu behind him.
