His intimidating aura
(Aiden's POV)
The very first thing I did when I returned back to my territoy was hold a serious meeting with my most trusted wolves. Things were happening around that urgently needed my attention, even if I didn't want to. For years, I've ruled my werewolves, watched other alpha misuse their authority over other weak packs with a weak alpha. Unfortunately, my pack was also one of those weak ones without a stable alpha
Years ago my father had ruled with an iron fist, although he had some alphas from other packs who opposed his way of ruling his own pack. But to be the best and to be respected and seen as a true leader one had to stand up and do what was necessary, and I did what I had to do to solidify my legacy however they were things which were out of our hands and nature had a hand in everything, the moon goddess herself was said to have had the final say in everything, but I scoffed at such predictions. To me, I made the rules, I decided the fate of everyone who was under me which was why I took care of those lousy alphas who thought I, a 26 years old alpha, wouldn't rule them all. When my father died of a strange illness, I was considered too young to step up, despite being the next in line to be the alpha. It was funny how they thought I wouldn't be able to carry out what was necessary for my pack's well-being; however, I proved them wrong when I ripped each of them into shreds mercilessly feeding them to my wolved and that was how I handled my matter. Anyone below me had to stay below me, or they died by my hands, they called me ruthless, and I was glad to bathe in their scorn because I preferred being feared than liked
"Alpha...the situation is worsening... I don't think you will find whom you seek...what...what if the prophecy is all a lie"I listened as my most trusted wolves voiced out their opinion, I sat in my chair playing with a small locket in my hand. It wasn't mine but I found it attractive as I turned it around focusing on it rather than on the words being said, there was a certain ancient prophecy lurking in the shadows, the one which had kept me awake at night and the one responsible for my omega hunt every full moon. like they said the moon goddess had blessed each werewolf with rare abilities each one in their own way, either high ranking or lower and I hunted for something special. Something which I needed for something important and for years I've been doing my search and selection
"The elders are talking...they don't think it's necessary to get more omegas which they think… Are polluting our pack...they requested if you could concentrate more on finding your mate and the Luna of our pack"another one lamented, and I shifted my eyes from the gold locket in my hand which appeared a little rusty then to my Beta and Zeta. My most trusted wolves, who knew my operation more than anyone. I was a secretive alpha, I did my operation undetected, which shocked most elderly werewolves who had been there throughout the existence. Old shrewd werewolves who i immediately stripped them of their tittles when my father died because I didn't find them worthy of my time. They knew I had better things to do now than to focus on finding a mate
"If they don't like my way of doing things...then ask them to leave my pack"I replied sternly as my eyes narrowed into slits, I was aware who was against me and who was on my side and I didn't care because I was a one-man army. I could handle any danger single-handedly, and I required no protection or hid behind warriors. I was thirsty for power and until I achieved my goal anyone who dared to go against me paid with their lives. Upon hearing my reply, both Connor my Beta and Ethan my Zeta looked at me with wide eyes, even so I didn't care.
"Come on bro...aren't you tired of your subjects calling you a tyrant alpha... I can't walk a step and woo the women like I want to because...they are afraid of me"while the two people who believed they were my friends feared me, my little brother who had been busy looking at books on the shelves suddenly returned to his seat and dropped and like always I shifted away knowing full well I only had one problem and that was, keeping my little brother in control
"I gave you a simple task to do...is it done?" I simply ignored his foolish complaints, I knew how childish he was,, but he was useful to me and my goal to reach the top. Not only that, but I glared at him, and the way he was moving his chair back proved that he didn't do anything I ordered him to. He was my brother,, but I made the rules, and he had to follow just like the rest of my subjects. To me, there was no family I wasn't so sentimental or showed any mercy
"Well...bro...listen... I tried getting close, but I was attacked okay... I can't fight those black wolves alone...why don't we send Connor"he lamented nervously and pointed towards my beta and like cowards they were, Connor too moved back and pointed at Ethan
"No way man...this was your task... I... I can't do it"Ethan too refused, shaking his head in denial and I sat there watching ad the three kept on arguing about who was to go ahead and enter the forest of the ancient ones. Not only that, but I knew the task was difficult, and I was the only one to get what I wanted but for now, I had new things to handle and hearing them arguing like little pups made my blood boil however something happened that made me stop as I froze in place and stopped playing with the locket in my hand and fixed my eyes at the wooden door to the private study room which everyone other than my beta, zeta and little brother or anyone I trusted were forbidden from coming to. Not only that, but I clarified it for everyone to stay away because I hated noise more than anything but now there was an intruder on the way, and before I could rise to my feet and leave the room, the door flew open which was not just a surprise to me but to the three men arguing as they stopped at once and shifted their gaze towards the person standing by the door looking at us as if she were lost or anything. My eyes immediately turned dark fixing them on the little female who dared intrude, my hand clenched in a tight fist automatically as anger boiled within me, and she seemed surprised
"What do you want...who let you come here!?"it was Connor who asked angrily as he rose to his feet and the three men stood in front of me and lined up, hiding me from sight, the female hesitated before she could answer. I sensed how she was trying hard to see me, but the tall wolves shielding me made it impossible for her
"Talk!'' Ethan shouted and like always his voice was intimidating and could scare anyone, his aura was quite interesting, as a male wolf he was perfect as my loyal soldier so was my beta. I stayed quietly as I sat there waiting for the little female to state her business why she was in my presence without my permission and it was twice a crime and the consequences were to be beheaded immediately and judging by her lower rank, I was to issue her execution immediately
"I...well... I…"she stammered to say, and I knew she feared my wolves. Who wouldn't be when they were hungry to devour and destroy. I could feel, taste and sense the little one's fear, the delicious taste of her fear was like a drop of water which clenched the thirst of the beast in me as it stirred, not many got wolf's attention
"She's one of those lousy...maids my brother gets from the horrible swamps...a latest addition...her scent is different... what should we with her"my little brother said with disdain to his voice. It turned out that my little brother hated omegas more than anything, and I knew what he was getting at and like the alpha I was, I leaned back to the chair as my eyes closed for a while. They were expecting me to issue an execution for the little female omega,, but I raised my hand and waved them off. It came as a complete shock to them as they turned their attention to me, the shock in their eyes went a long way and I knew it never happened every time. In fact I never spared anyone who dared to show their face without been summoned and just now I made a little shocker of a life time
"Let her go"I slowly said and rose to my feet. The three men moved out of the way and the female was shocked too. I could see that glimmer in her eyes seeing me. She was bad at hiding her expressions and I could see through anyone without much difficulty and i saw how she was amused at seeing me, I walked to the door but stopped right before i would walk past her, the little female didn't tear her gaze from me as her true sapphire eyes shone with admiration and when I stood in front of her, she was about to drop to her knees just from my aura, I saw how much she was sweating and gasping for air. She was trembling and was to collapse any time if I stayed there any longer but she averted her eyes from my intense gaze and like the alpha I was, I glanced back at the shocked men then walked past the female and I knew she was affected by my aura. She was quite an interesting female I must say. She lasted long in my presence without passing out but I wasn't interested as I went my way leaving my wolves to deal with the issue.
