Chapter 18 The party ended

Naomi felt a bit relieved after hearing that it was a regular dream because she too had heard a lot about a succubus and their ability to manipulate and feed on the human mind in order to play their dirty tricks on them. A piece of recent news that was trending at the moment was that a man who had been given a life sentence started to scream that it was the succubus who told him to tie up his wife and two children and burn them. The priest was called to pray for his soul and he screamed in terror as if the priest himself was the succubus knowing that they can enter any human as their host and dwell in them for as long as possible. She asked that after the party he tells more about the dream and went back to enjoying the party. Brie wondered why he lied and why the woman looked so surprised that her son dreamt. She thought it was normal to dream for humans but didn't think much of it. She decided to patiently wait for them to finish their party. She felt as if she was getting weaker and weaker.

In about an hour, the whole party had finally come to an end and all the guests that had arrived were going back home. Naomi was happy. She enjoyed her day. She escorted all the guests and asked for a complete search of the whole house to make sure that there was no one hiding or no food that was not from the kitchen or no property of any guests in the building . She loved her privacy and took her safety seriously. Once she had her rounds and was sure that she is alone with her son at home, she went straight to the locket hanging on Dazeliel's door and observed it. She realized that it was hanging away from the door a bit and concluded that it must have fallen and the culprit placed it back to avoid suspicion so she went to her room and picked up a bottle of glue. She attached the pendant to Dazeliel's door securing it in order to prevent such occurrences it was a protective object and it prevented spirits and non-human entities from invading thoughts or dreams. Ever since she hanged it on Dazeliel's door, not once did she hear him talk of having a dream or a nightmare so she had total belief that it worked.

After she went to the hall where Dazeliel was seated . He told her about the girl he employed and how he thought Sam needed some assistance since he is old. Sam who had known Dazeliel since he was small felt proud of him for being kind and thoughtful but Naomi was not in favor of the situation saying that he would be attracted to this girl. Dazeliel explains that he thought she would be of great help and Sam was in his favor so Naomi glared at both of them in an angry way and walked away ''I don't know what to do with you both'' she said while climbing the stairs.
