Chapter 10 - You were just human

"So, what do you three think about the rate of success of the plan?" Felix asked them as he turned to the three.

"I think we have a fair chance with all of these Servants." Mash said to him.

"I don't know. I will just follow my Master." Medusa said to him.

"What about you, Medea?" Felix asked the third one.

"...Why do you trust me?" Medea asked after staying silent for some time.

"I thought I told you that?" Felix said to her.

"But still. Why do you trust me? I could easily betray you for my own gain." Medea said to him.

"I will admit that I am a bit skeptical about it. But I do know about your legend." Felix said to her as she stiffened up.

'Of course he knows about it.' Medea thought to herself a bit bitterly.

"I know that you were a princess who was made to fall in love with someone you hadn't even known due to the Gods. You did many sins in your travels with him, killed your family, became an outcast. And then as if to insult all the things you had done for him, he married a princess to become a part of royalty which caused you to kill him alongside the princess and the others before you went away from the eyes of the people." Felix said as the three Servants looked at him.

"And what do you think?" Medea asked him as she looked at him.

"I think that you were an innocent person who had her life changed due to the choices and whims of the Gods. A good person turned evil due to her own circumstances." Felix said to her as her eyes widened under her hood.

"You think I'm innocent?" Medea asked him.

"I can't say that. Your emotions and life were controlled by the Gods and you did a lot of bad things due to it. That won't change no matter what." Felix said to her.

Medea grit her teeth a bit in response.

"But, I cannot fault you for that. Not fully at the least. You loved Jason and wanted to do your best for him. Even if what you did was due to the Gods, you did love him, and I know that people are able to do many things for the people they love." Felix said as he looked at her.

"What are you saying then?" Medea asked as Mash and Medusa looked at him.

In response Felix smiled at her, a gentle smile which took Medea back.

"I'm just saying that, it was normal. You actions was something a normal person would do, you were a girl who wanted to help her love. You were just human." Felix said with a smile.

Those were simple words, he can't deny that, but he knew that he believed it. No matter how many crimes she had done, she was still a human in the end.

And of course, to Medea those weren't simple words. She had been called many names by the people of Greece after she had come to her senses. Absolute evil, Witch of Betrayal, Worst Woman of Greece, Hero Betrayer, Betrayer of the Gods. But never has anyone ever called her a human after that. Not since the Argonauts. So his words made a profound impact on her.

So much so that a tear fell down her left eye which surprised her and the rest as they saw it. She immediately wiped it from her face and stood straight.

"I-Is that so. Fine then. That's good enough for me." Medea said acting like it never happened.

Felix blinked at her actions before realising what she was doing.

"Alright then. Thank you for the help Medea." Felix said with a smile which caused her to blush a bit.

'Maybe he isn't as bad as I thought.' Medea thought to herself as she looked at him.

Mash and Medusa looked at their interaction as they stayed silent.

Time skip

"You're gonna take that?" Olga asked Felix as he smiled at her.

"There's no problem is it?" Felix said as he has a Howa Type 89 in his hands.

"Do you think a modern gun can help you in a servant fight?" Cu asked him as he looked at the Master.

"Well, maybe against a Servant it won't do much. But against that... I think it's pretty effective." Felix said as he pointed to the skeletons coming towards them.

Who were then lighted up by him with bullets infused with his mana which made quick work of them.

"Yep. Works just fine." Felix said with a smile.

"Well, if the kid is okay with it. I'm fine with it. Just let me fight that Archer like we planned." Cu said to them with a smile.

"Fine by me. We have three Servants with us so we have a chance, right?" Olga said as she looked at them.

"I say we have a good chance of winning." Roman said to them with a smile.

"Great. Let's go." Felix said as he dual wielded two Howa Type 89's.

"I think he's crazy." Olga whispered to Mash who looked at the director.

They then went to the cave where they met Archer who Cu immediately engaged as it let the others enter the cave and reach the innermost section where the Holy Grail is.

"I guess that's the Holy Grail?" Felix asked as he looked at the mass of energy.

"Yeah, and that's probably..." Olga said as she noticed a dark Servant.

The Servants stiffened when they saw the enemy Servant as Felix raised his guns and used reinforcement on them and infused the bullets with mana as he pointed them at the Saber class Servant.

'It feels really oppressive to stand in her presence.' Felix thought to himself as he felt a pressure on him.

"So you have come here to challenge me." Saber Artoria Alter said to them without her visor.

"Yeah. We have come to fix this singularity." Felix said to her after gathering his wits.

"But do you have the will and strength necessary to do that? I will judge that." Artoria Alter said as she looked at Mash.

"You have that shield. Can it stand against my sword." Artoria Alter said as her aura flared.

The group got ready to fight as Olga, Medea and Felix stood behind Mash and Medusa as they got into a fighting stance.

"Sorry your majesty. I'm a guy from the modern world so please don't mind the disrespect of me using guns." Felix said as he pointed both guns at her.

"They won't do much anyway." Saber said to him.

"I agree. But they will annoy you." Felix said as he shot her.

The bullets hit her and exploded but they weren't that strong but they did annoy her. He used reinforcement on the bullets with his mana and shot them and one bullet managed to make a cut across her right cheek surprising her. She touched it with her hand and looked at the bit of blood on her metal glove.

"Interesting." Artoria Alter said before she looked at the group.

"Attack!" Felix shouted as he shot her as the bullets at them.

Medusa shot forward while Medea created various magic circles and shot beams of magic at the king. In response, Artoria Alter flared her aura and shot forward and met with Medusa as they locked blades cracking the floor as the battle began.
