Fate's exchange

Vanessa woke up in a completely different body as she flung herself off the bed going to look at herself straight in the mirror. Her eyes widened instantly but her heart rejoiced at what had just occurred. The man's words were completely real and she had doubted it.

She used the palm of her hands to feel her face and to her greatest surprise it was all real. She was in this very body. Her eyes went ahead to look around her and her eyes marveled at the sight before her. She went ahead to look at herself back in the mirror and could clearly see herself in the cristal clear view, she mesmerized at the perfect figure that was now hers.

Dreams do really come true. Vanessa thought as she now ran out of the room running downstairs even though she did not have any idea where she was going she just wanted to explore the majestic house. Was all these finally hers? Just when she had lost all hope for life it felt as if she was finally reborn but she wasn't! One could say she stole the life from someone else but to her it wasn't really stealing.it was pure luck and karma.

She felt like the girl she had exchanged bodies with deserved everything she was facing now and she was the one to know the girl would be facing hell right now. 

Vanessa got downstairs and just there,she saw a lady in the living room. She had her legs crossed as she seemed to be busy on her phone. Vanessa guessed it was the girl's mom but wanted to confirm. If she wanted to pull this off,she had to be careful.

"Mum?" Vanessa called out to Rachel who sat in the living room with her back facing the big TV there. She turned back abruptly as she heard the familiar voice from behind her and immediately she saw who it was, she ran to hug her. As she looked surprised for a second. "Honey! You are finally awake" Vanessa heard the girl's mother say to have her brows narrow down at the lady. Has she been unconscious for some days now?

"I was worried sick about you sweetheart.the doctor had told me he did not know what happened to you but am glad you are okay now. Look, you are walking your feets on the bare floor. Are you sure you are alright?" Rachel asked the girl, thinking it was her daughter as she looked concerned not knowing the person she was actually talking to was not her daughter but a completely different person staying inside the body of her dear daughter, Adriana.

Vanessa swallowed her saliva. She did not want the woman to suspect anything and she would need to choose her words carefully till she figured out a way to learn about the girl she had obtained her body. At the time, she still didn't know if the lady was her supposed mother.

"Mother! I was so scared" Vanessa cried out now going to hug Rachel who hugged her back and patted her back. "You are fine now honey. You had all of us in a frenzy" Rachel added as she consoled her daughter.

On the other side of town. A girl woke up to the blinding lights coming from the window that had no curtains. She laid on a mat as her eyes fluttered open. Her pupils had already started to dilate as she seemed to be in a daze. 

She used the back of her hand to clean the sweat that was dripping down her neck while her eyes surveyed her surroundings and the sight alone was enough to make her pass out again. Why was she in this room? The girl questioned in her mind as she now lazily stood up from the mat. She noticed her weak legs but that was least of her concerns as she quickly headed for the exit door she found. The room wasn't big and it was a very tiny space to which she wanted to quickly get out of.

Why did her mum bring her to such a place? The girl wondered and on opening the door which made weird noises as she opened it, she met with the outside world which welcomed her to a lot of noises.

Where was she? The girl looked around but only found dirty clothed kids playing around. To think of it too, she was also dressed in a ragged outfit. The girl had not noticed it before as she was too busy trying to figure out why she was in such a dirty and unkempt place.

She noticed a kid running her way. He seemed to be around ten years old as he smiled brightly at her standing just in front of her. "Vanessa! You are finally awake, honestly I started to wonder if you were dead. Silly me,you are all good" The girl heard the little boy say and her eyes slightly furrowed at him. What was he saying and why was he calling her Vanessa.

"What do you mean Vanessa,my name is Adriana. Have you seen my mom anywhere? She is tall,curvy hips and red hair" The girl Adriana asked, staring at the little boy as if she would get answers but she saw the boy only look at her confused wondering what the girl was talking about. Had she finally lost her memories because of her illness? The boy questioned in his head, making him shrug his shoulders.

"Have you finally lost it Vanessa? Aiish why am I even talking to you" the boy only said and Adriana could only watch as he left. Why was he calling her Vanessa? She went back inside the room to check if she would find her phone in there but the phone she saw on the small reading table in there was not hers.

She didn't think too much about it though as she grabbed the phone and just when she had brought it to her face so as to turn it on, she saw her reflection on the black screen and she almost screamed throwing the phone on the floor, her hands hanging in mid air.

Her eyes widened with what she had just seen. That was a completely different person and not her! Adriana's head immediately started spinning as she shakily picked the phone up from the floor.she closed her eyes before turning on the phone and immediately swiped to camera.

She took deep breaths in and out before looking at herself in the camera only to see some else's face. Again, she threw the phone on the floor and by now it would have had a crack on the screen. Adriana's breath hastened not knowing what was going on.

Her eyes weren't playing tricks on her, were they? It was another person's face she had seen there!
