The specter's form flickered like a wisp of smoke before solidifying into a new shape, that of an imposing figure in the robes of the Council. Its eyes, still ethereal, bore into each member of the group.

"You have come in search of knowledge and power," the specter said, "but the Council's wisdom is not easily attained. Each of you must face a challenge to prove your worthiness."

Lyra squared her shoulders and asked, "What kind of challenges do we face?"

The specter's lips curved in a spectral semblance of a smile. "These challenges will test your inner strength, your wisdom, your courage, and your unity. If you succeed, you will earn the right to continue your quest."

Victor nodded in understanding, recognizing the gravity of the moment. "We accept your challenge."
