Chapter 16 – Magic Land
Jake looked at Jon with an angry look, it seems Jon don't trust him enough, so he spies on him. Jake was really pissed.
"Are you spying on me now, Jon I didn't do anything bad to you, I helped your family and I thought that where are friends. Is this how you treat a friend?"
Jake angrily spoke to Jon. Jon stepped on his boundaries, so he needs an explanation. He didn't care about the Magic seed or the farm they are like the sand he can get them any time, but he was thinking about his mother now, so he was angry.
"Calm down Jake, it's not what you are thinking." Said Jon is trying to calm Jake.
"Sighs… Jake this world is big and has a lot of things normal people don't need to know, it needs to stay like that, so people can live peacefully. What you did in your farm triggered something that made unnecessary people look in your direction. Some people tried to investigate your farm, but they have been blocked by me."
When Jake planted the seed, many people felt the change and tried to investigate the source of it. Jon already knew where Jake farm was, so he sent people to protect the farm and kill anyone who wants to dig anything about the farm.
Jake was taking back, WTF, where in the world am I. Jake thought he was in a backward medieval world and he is going to make easy money and build his empire safe and sound, his worst fear is been obstruct by some nobles or the king, but he didn't expect this.
"Jon what are you saying, what do you mean by people shouldn't know, am I going be killed or is something going to happen to my mother"
Jake was worried about himself he just worried about his mother, she is innocent. She only now how makes people comfortable around her, and he doesn't want to lose her.
"Jake there are some matters that you don't need to know, your life will not be the same if you knew about it so don't worry, I will protect you just don't do anything stupid thing without telling me."
Jon was loose for words. This stupid brat did something stupid and he needs to cover for him now.
"Jon, you will have to tell me then, how I am going to know what is good and what is stupid before having any information. I have you here so am not scared of anything thing but maybe I can help you instead. I am maybe a young man, but this young man own half of your restaurant"
Jake really wants to know, Jon seems like a strong person who can command people and know a lot of secrets
Jon was hesitating to tell Jake. From the first-time meeting Jake until this moment, Jake kept surprising Jon every time but still, some topics don't need to be said.
"Jake this is a book that summarizes everything you want to know, if you want to read it, first you need to tell me from where you got the IceBlue Flower"
Jake heard the question and looked at Jon, so the magical seed flower name is an IceBlue floor, the name really fits.
"First let me read the book and after that, I will tell you what you want to hear," said Jake put his hand out to get the book.
Jon shakes his head and hand the book to Jake
Well, let's see what answer he will give me after reading if I don't like it you are not going to rest until you die. Jon was thinking.
The name of the book is The Unheard Life. It was an old book, black cover with some splits here and there. The smell of ink come from the book when Jake opened it, he starts reading.
This world has two continents, the Mortal Land and the Magic Land. The Magic Land was named because it was surrounded with Magic forest and everything that grow in the magic land is falling under the magic category, like magic fruits, vegetables and herbs. All the animals that live there have magic in them, that does not mean that they are strong or blow fire, it just means their body is stronger than normal animals. In the Magic land people are not as strong as you think, but what is scary about them is their weapons. They invent and modify their weapons with magic crystals. Magic crystal is mined from the crystal mines that scattered around the land.
The Mortal land is the land that common people live in. They live their life without anyone interfere with them unless some evil people came from the magic land tried to make experiment then the Magic Council send people to hunt him down. The Mortal Land is protected by the Magic Council for the common people to live a normal life. The mortal land has kingdoms and empires. There are wars and famine, so it's just a normal world.
After reading the book Jake mind was not scared somehow, he was happy because it's not like what he was thinking. People with a superpower that kill people with a punch or if they fart by mistake a kill a bunch of people. They just people with more knowledge and have a normal body. It's like back on earth people with guns are scary. There are a lot of magic seeds, then the food must be better in the magic land. Jake was excited.
"Jon after reading this book, I have two questions for you. The first question are you the person who is sent by the Council to protect this kingdom. My second question is, did you catch the person who is behind what happens to the farms in the kingdom and what are you going to do to fix it."
Jake asked those questions after he understands the whole picture, of course, you need to read more books and learn more information but, that's what he got from the book, it seems Jon is an important person more than I anticipated.
Jon was taking back by Jake calmness, he didn't expect Jake to handle it well.
"I have been assigned here a long time ago by the Council, no one knows what my real identity is except you and the King, even Donna do not know. I work in the king's palace as an advisor. When the magic activity starts to spread. The magic sensor sensed it, I went and stopped it, but it was too late. The kingdom became droughts. After delivering the evil person who did it, I asked the council to send some expert to find a solution. The expert kept experimenting, but nothing worked, they fixed a little bit of the damage. Then you showed up, tasty ingredient, a working farm and now you have the IceBlue Flower, so I demand some answers as well."
