Chapter 14: Titanoboa

Asher quickly runs towards Chronos who looks like he's dying and immediately uses his healing skill.

"Cure! Cure!" Asher continues to chant the same spell over and over again. "Hey,wake up man!" Asher pats Chronos on the face repeatedly to make him wakes up.

"Huh, what happened?" Chronos' face looked around with a confuse expression.

"Chronos, it's a good thing you're awake." Asher breathed a sigh of relief and wiped off his sweat.

Chronos stands up again and suddenly the monstrous creature starts spitting out purple fireballs and aiming at one of the players who is near it. The player's scream is heard very loudly and slowly his body is covered in black energy and begins to attack other players brutally.

Asher's eyeballs wide for a moment and his face looking a little tense. "What happened to him?"

"I feel like the vomit from this snake made him lose control of himself and start attacking other players." Chronos slowly pointed his sword forward. "We have to be careful with that player's attacks, his movements are so fast that we...."

A small dagger quickly shoots out of nowhere towards Asher, shocking him and leaving his body stiff and unable to move. Fortunately, Chronos quickly blocks the dagger which almost hits Asher's face using his sword.

"Thanks, Chronos." Asher breathes a sigh of relief. "If you don't help me, I will dead right now."

"Be careful of your surroundings, friend." Asher swung his sword forward again. ""Damn! He seems attacking a magician-type player." Chronos instantly launched using his dash skill and starts attacking the player quickly.

'Cling! Cling!"

Every Chronos strike and the strikes from black magic can easily avoided by the possessing player.

On the other side, other players are trying to attack the giant snake using their swords, but the snake can resist every attack from the sword magic players.

The large snake moves its tail, which is quite long and large, then hits several magic sword class players so severely until the screams of other players fill the entire room.

"Oh my!" Asher quickly cast his healing abilities and tried to save some of the players from dying from the huge snake attack. "Damn it! How can we defeat this big snake?" Asher furrows his brows as he continued using his skills and treating the injured players. "We're all going to die if we don't something."

Asher racks up his brain and tries to figure out a way to defeat the big snake. He looks at Chronos who still fights against the demon-possessed player. Suddenly Asher notices transparent lump with dense black smoke inside on the giant snake's back.

"Wait, is it possible the lump is the source of the power for this creatures?"

Suddenly "purify" abilities appear in his skill column. He feels even more certain now this big snake has been possessed by a dark spirit and the source of the power is that lump. Asher tries to use the purifying ability but can't use it now.

[Purify]: The ability possessed by white mages to purify evil spirits. (This ability will activate if the host is already in a weakened or dying state). (An ability that does not always exist).

Mana cost: depends on the host, the stronger the host the more mana is used.

Asher slowly stands up and shouts in a loud voice. "We can defeat this snake by attacking that point!" Asher's index finger pointed at the large lump on the snake. "When it's dying, I can use my purify skill because i'm the only one white magic here, but I need all of your help."

Asher's eyes moves slowly as he looks at the remaining players. He hopes his words will be heard by all the remaining players and not be considered as a joke.

"You heard right! Give it your all!" Shouts Chronos who finally managed to defeat the possessed player. "Everyone, move forward!"

All players mobilized their abilities. The black mages used their magic and throws fireballs which disturbs the snake's vision then all the sword magic classes together use their dash skills and slashing the body of the big snake.

"Eat this monster!" Asher points his staff and uses his laser light skill making the big snake immediately lie on the ground.

"Ash, now use the purify skill!" Chronos shouts loud enough to fill the entire room.

"Purify!

Asher points his staff upwards and suddenly the air around him feels so different. A light green glow emanates at his feet and a beam of light shoots out from his staff straight to the snake's lump. However, Asher starts to feel his body experiencing a significant loss of mana which makes his hand grip slowly weaken.

"Argh! I should be able to!"

Asher continues to force his body until the black lump slowly disintegrated and the large snake struggles in pain. Chronos and the other sword magicians use their skills and finally managed to kill the snake to death.

'Congratulations, you managed to kill the Mid-boss: Titanoboa'

'Exp gained 1500'

'You have obtained, 1x Persea's energy stone, and 1x Titanoboa fangs. 1x snake skin'

Shouts of victory can be heard filling the entire room, making the players cheer with excitement. All of sudden, the Persea energy stone emits a bright light and a small blue fairy suddenly appeares in front of them.

"Thank you, players, thank you!" Persea smiles widely and sheds tears. "I'm so grateful to be able to get my powers back."

'You have completed the mission: Persea's power.

'Earned 1500 Exp.'

'You have earned 500 gold coins, 2x fairy shoes, 3x bombs.'

'Persea joins the party'

However, soon the shaking starts and slowly pieces of rock are falling from above.

"Oh my God! This cave is going to collapse!" Shouted one of the players.

All the rest of the players feel an overwhelming panic and the shaking gets more and more pronounced until it blocks the way out of the cave.

"What should we do now!" Shouts one of the black magic player. "We're going to die! We're going to die!"

"No, we will not die here!" Persea flies around them and starts using her spell. "All of you, gather around!"

Slowly a water puddle appears from the ground to the shock of all the remaining players, but strangely the it emits a light so bright that all the players close their eyes.

"Teleport!"

As Persea cast her spell and suddenly all the people inside the circle instantly teleport back to the entrance of Altaria village.
