Chaos at Firm 2

"Alright everyone, get back to work," Mr Hamon announced to the workers.

After arriving at the Isabel firm, everyone began discussing their past works which they were doing before coming here.

"Yeah yeah," a man replied and rolled his eyes. Garry Martin was another tailor who went through the same crisis as Mr Hamon. He was older than Mr Hamon and was short-tempered.

Averet noticed his arrogant behaviour. He brushed it off not wanting to ruin the peaceful environment and have a grudge against his co-worker.

He went towards his desk and checked the day's target, while others positioned themselves on their respective sewing machines. Taking out a parchment, he quilled something and pinned it on the notice board and returned to everyone.

"Today's task has been displayed on the notice board. Please go through it and try to accomplish it as soon as possible," he said loudly.

Everyone nodded in agreement, except for Mr Martin. He put his little finger into his ears and dug in, clearly displaying his lack of interest in Hamon's words.

This vexing behaviour of Mr Martin irked Hamon. He was trying to remain patient from the very beginning when Garry had joined the firm. But today he decided to have a one to one talk as he couldn't control it anymore.

"Mr Martin, please stop ruining the friendly environment of the firm, with your disrespectful behaviour. If you aren't interested in working with us, you can leave," he said as humbly as he could.

"Eh? You stop bossing around," Garry said arrogantly.

"Mr Martin please,"

"Yeah yeah," Garry replied in the usual boredom tone making Averett lose his temper.

"Stop behaving like a jerk, Garry. Be a man and say it on my face. What's the matter with you?" He asked with a stern face. His words indicated how annoyed he was with his behaviour.

Everyone stopped their work and looked perplexed at both of them. They were clear that if Mr Martin retorts now, it will turn the firm into a battlefield, which he surely will.

"What's the matter with me?" As expected Garry began. "What's the matter with you? I was more successful in the line of clothing business way before you arrived. I have more experience than you. You should learn how to speak with seniors," he raged.

"You might be more experienced than me but the princess appointed me as head of the firm. Besides this, let me inform you I have always been respectful to you," Averet didn't step back either. He raised his voice as well.

"If the queen had approached me first I would have been the head of the firm. An experienced person is always more valuable in business rather than a newly entered rookie," he said mockingly, making Averet lose all his patience.

"Stop using your old age to achieve a position. We all know that proficiency matters, not the experience."

"You want to see my proficiency, eh? As your wish then." Garry stood up and raised his sleeves provoking Averet for a fight. He stormed towards him and held his collars in rage.

Averet didn't step back either. Soon the two of them ended up in a rough fight, tearing each other's shirts like animals. They two started yelling and shouting at each other. Few people tried to stop them but the two being their previous employers, scolded them, so they stepped back feeling helpless.

Everyone was so engrossed in the fight that they didn't hear the sound of the carriage.

Evelyn was confused about what was happening inside the firm for them to shout like this. As soon as she entered, she saw Mr Hamon and Mr Martian quarrelling with each other. She was astounded by their behaviour.

"What a bunch of friendly employees you have gathered, Eve," Earl remarked. His tone was depicting sarcasm in it. "Well Evelyn, I reckon you to be strict this time or else they will take your words leniently."

Evelyn understood what he was implying. This wasn't the first time they were fighting. But at least last time they didn't end up physical.

"STOP!" She screamed at the top of her lungs.

Averet and Garry stopped moving as soon as they heard her voice. They looked in the direction of the sound and found a pair of furious eyes glaring at them. They quickly retreated and stood silently waiting for her to speak.

"I thought everyone would get help by working together," She began, "But I was wrong. The main motive of the firm was to help each other and grow together. I feel sad to say that it's completely ruined by a few people here." She looked at Mr Hamon and Mr Martin, the most senior and experienced members of the firm with an unbelievable look.

They both looked down at the floor being embarrassed by their behaviour. They both had realised their mistakes but being inflated in their ego, didn't apologize.

Evelyn patiently waited for one of them to take a step forward keeping their ego away. Seeing no movement in front of her, she continued, "I guess I will have to take a tough call now. All the employees here are informed that the firm is closed and you all can get back into your previous works."

The announcement shocked each and everyone present there. Earl looked at her in shock at her sudden decision.

"Today's wages will be provided to you all and you don't have to worry about it. And if anyone you have to accuse, then blame yourselves. Right, Mr Hamon and Mr Martin?"

With that, she stormed out of the firm without waiting for a reply. Earl too followed her leaving the people dumbfounded in the firm.
