Chapter2-: The Proposal

"C-c-r-r-i-i-n-n-g-g," my alarm blared through my room, I quickly got off bed only to see I was terribly late it was 8:30a.m. and I had to submit my proposal at 10a.m. My office was a half an hour drive from my home but New York's traffic would make it a solid forty-five minutes.

Without wasting any time i quickly tan to the shower, brushed my teeth and washed my body real quick. It took only fifteen minutes, then I opened my closet, I needed to look confident today so I decided on a dark red blouse and black pencil skirt, gave my face a little touch up of makeup and left my hair in a loose ponytail.

I went to the kitchen and made by go to breakfast a peanut butter and jelly sandwich along with some coffee and quickly finished my breakfast and came down to my car, the I drove to my office.

I managed to recah the office by 9:40 a.m. I parked my car and was about to enter my office when Bella tapped on my shoulder." Good morning Bella" I smiled and wished her, to which she raised her eyebrows and said,"Why at eyou being so formal today? Anyways did you complete the proposal " I smiled and nodded, she smiled and said excitedly," Great I am sure your proposal will be on board". I thanked her and asked her "What excuse did you make?" She brought a evil smile on her face and said,"I emailed Marie yesterday and wrote that I had a terrible fever headache and she excused me, but made sure I showed her medicla certificates, you know my mother is a doctor so I got my alibi" she winked, I laughed at her reaction and we took the elevator to our departments and after some more chats and gossips we quickly got to our departments."

"All the department officers are requested to submit their proposals to Miss Marie. I repeat all the department officers are requested to submit their proposals to Miss Marie." the intercom informed.

I took my proposal pendrive and the detailed file and walked towards Marie's office, there was a queue of all the officers who took their turn to demonstrate her their proposal. I was scrolling through my social media while standing in the queue, when Bill came out of the office very confident, he smiled proudly and said "I am sure I will get this proposal accepted". Bill was very infamous for his cocky attitude and boastfull nature, he had rich parents to back him up and for some odd reason he always tried to defeat me in every possible way. Bill approached me and asked "Miss Hill what useless proposal did you prepare?" I remained calm, smiled at him and asked " Bill did you get a promotion?" He looked at me confused and said" No, Why?" I smirked and said,"Because the last time I checked we are at the same position in the office, and our chief and clients decides whose proposals are useless and whose are usefull."

Before he could say anything back, I walked inside Marie's cabin without turning back.

Marie smiled at me and said," Good morning Miss Hill, please demonstrate your presentation."

I took a deep breath and started," As we know the virus which attacked the system of Knights and co. is of very slow speed and the data cannot be accessed until the complete transfer takes place, so I made a new software which would increase the speed of the data transfer and the entire data will get destroyed after the complete transfer takes place. This way the hacker can neither access the data nor will the systems be affected. For additional protection we will install our anti virus software to prevent other attacks" I handed her my file and the software pendrive and informed,"this file has all the details and this is my software."

Marie seemed interested and asked me,"What about the data? If the whole data is getting transferred how will you retrieve it?"

I replied her," As you said they have backups of the data, so there must not be any problem aslo I will try to make a copy of the remaining data before inserting the virus"

Marie nodded and said," The proposal was very thoughtful, I will discuss with the chief and let you know his decision" I mumbled a quick "Thankyou " and left the office.

I returned to my cabin when my mother called me.
