2.9 Secret Lover

"Who are you?"

"Fufufu, I am your lover that you didn't know existed."

Kali stared at the woman that was in front of her. She was a slim young woman, with long blonde hair tied up into a ponytail, and red eyes.

"Lucy?" Kali muttered. "No, she doesn't have red eyes. Who could you possibly be? This is my first time meeting you."

"Fufufu, are you sure about that? Did you forget the time when you stole a glance at me?" the woman said with a grin.

"Ah." Kali recalled when she saw a person with blonde hair back at the palace. It turns out, it was the woman in front of her. "Now I remember."

"Good, good. Although I don't know how you look, judging by your voice, you must be extremely cuuuuuute! I'll accept you as my lover!" the woman squealed.

"No thanks. I'll be leaving now." Kali said. But before she could leave, she was blocked by the girl.

"How rude! After everything I did to save you, this is how you repay me?"

"I don't have memories of being saved, especially from a person like you. I'd be ashamed of myself."

"Such vulgar sentences! I didn't know you were into things like that! But as your future lover, I must accept all of you. Come! We can 'play' together!"

"Hmm, should I kill you?"

"Please don't! You'll be put under surveillance forever if you do!"

Kali was confused, she asked, "What do you mean by surveillance?"

The woman sighed and said, "I was going to answer that but you decided to start a play. Anyway! Down the hallway, there were several skilled guards that were going to watch you until you left. "

"I see, then you brought me into this room for no reason."

"What? Clearly I saved you?!"

"I could've just killed all of the guards."

"I hate to break it to you, but violence is not the answer." the woman said heroically which caused Kali to cringe.

"Are you done? I'll stay here, so could you please stop this act of yours?"

"It's not an act…but sure! Let's have a seat on the bed and introduce each other!"

***

"I said on the bed, so why are you sitting across the room?" the woman asked.

"Sorry, for some strange reason, my mind rejects the idea of sitting anywhere close to you." Kali replied.

"Oh, that can't be helped. I'm Asuna! Asuna Shinozaki! It's a pleasure to meet you!"

"I'm Kiya, just Kiya. Nice to meet you too."

"Kiya…what a lovely name." Asuna muttered before composing herself. "Anyway, I came to discuss some things with you."

"Huh? You were looking for me?" Kali asked.

"Well, I saw a glimpse of what was happening with poor Quinn. So I decided I wanted to ask you some things. You seem strong and a very knowledgeable person."

"Flattery won't get you anywhere, ask away."

"Do you believe in the existence of dragons?"

"I do."

"I see. On July 7th, X777. All the dragons disappeared, do you know why they did?"

This question caused Kali to widen her eyes in surprise. Several questions came to her mind, but the first one was…

"How do you know of that event?"

"So it seems you have knowledge of what happened, I'm glad I was able to find you."

"Answer my question."

"I know of that event because I'm a Dragon Slayer. I'm sure there are others that you met that are the same as me."

Kali was left speechless, her mind was running at three hundred miles an hour. She thought she knew every Dragon Slayer there was in this world, but the harsh truth hit her. There were more Dragon Slayers that existed and she had no knowledge about them.

"Also." Asuna said. "I'm looking for the guild by the name of Fairy Tail. I heard that there's a Dragon Slayer there by the name of Salamander."

At this point, Kali didn't intend to hide anything from Asuna. She had gathered enough information, moreover, if she did go to Fairy Tail. It would benefit them a lot.

"You're correct. In Fairy Tail, there is another Dragon Slayer that goes by the name of Salamander. Do you wish to go there?" Kali asked.

Asuna shook her head and said, "No, I don't want to go there yet. Though I'm glad that the information I found is confirmed."

"Oh? What if I'm spewing nonsense? I could be lying to you right now."

"I don't think you're that type of person, after all, you stayed here despite everything I did to you."

"I see, your observation is something worthy of praise. It seems despite your immaturity, it seems you still have some common sense in your brain."

"Are you complimenting or insulting me?!"

"Perhaps both."

"Ehhhhh?"

"Anyway, with your information confirmed. What are you going to do?"

"I'll most likely wait until I settle matters with the royal family first. The princess most likely still needs me, it's been dangerous this past week."

"Is that so?"

"Un, citizens have said that they've seen strange movements around a forest. Like the trees moving or something."

Instantly, Kali knew what she was talking about.

"Tell the citizens not to worry about it, whatever is inside the forest doesn't mean any harm." Kali said reassuringly.

"How do you know that?"

"I've been in contact with them and they really do mean no harm. Just mind your own business and they'll mind their own business."

"Once again, I'm glad that I met you. Your knowledge is limitless."

"Also, what business did you have with the princess? Do you perhaps have ties with the royal family?"

"It's nothing like that. I'm the princess's private bodyguard, but despite that, my status isn't that high." Asuna said with a bitter smile.

"As expected, it seems status still means a lot to the king, huh? This city kingdom really is corrupted to its core."

"I don't think you should be saying that, especially in the palace."

Kali shrugged and said, "It's not like they'll hear me or anything. If that's everything, then I'll be leaving."

"Wait!"

"Hmm?"

"Will you…show me your appearance?"

"No, I won't."

"Ah, I expected that was going to be your answer."

"Don't worry, you'll find out one day. And when you do, you'll most likely want to fight me."

"Huh?"

With that said, Kali got up, and closed the door behind her. She yawned and started heading towards her room while knocking the guards out.

"Ah, it seems I forgot to ask what type of Dragon Slayer she was."
