Their Story

"I don't understand," Lucy said in shock.

Makarov didn't want Natsu to touch her in case their magic clashed, so he gently took off the hood of her head. The girl had the same hair color as Natsu. Her hair was very long, and she had it up in a high ponytail, but it still passed her hips.

"Nala, you're here," Natsu said with a faint smile.

Two soldiers from the magic council entered the guild and walked up the stairs, then pulled Natsu away from Nala.

"Natsu Dragneel wizard of the Fairy Tail guild, you have two options. Your first is for you to be taken to and held in the council's amenities. Your second option is for this girl to reside in that room. Those are the only choices you and your sister are not allowed to stay together. You two must be separated."

"Who sent you?" Makarov asked.

"Jellal, sir."

"Jellal?" Erza said.

"Jellal is one of the very few people who know of Natsu and Nala, and he is correct. Natsu and Nala must not be under the same roof, at least not yet," Makarov explained.

"I'll go," Natsu told them.

"You're kidding," Grey said.

"She's bearly been around people, plus you guys could train her," Natsu explained.

"Are you stupid?"

"Are you questioning me?"

Natsu and Grey started bickering; they were about to start throwing punches, but Nala said, "I'm going."

"Oh my God, she spoke!" Happy whispered to Carla and Lilly.

"What are you talking about? We dreamed of being members here. You should try it and meet my friends," Natsu told her.

Nala walked down the stairs and faced her brother, "who said I want to meet them? We're not even supposed to have friends," then flicked his forehead.

Nala left with the soldiers, and Natsu kept his head down.

"What did she mean by not supposed to have friends?" Wendy wondered.

"Master can tell you; he knows our story," Natsu said as he started to walk out.

Happy followed Natsu, but his friend stopped him and was told to stay in the guild.

After Natsu left, everyone looked at Makarov, waiting to tell them everything.

"Fine, fine, everyone, take a seat. This is a long story."

A beautiful woman with light pink hair was making a sweater while sitting in her living room with her husband playing outside with their 5-year-old son. The woman stood up and opened a window and gently shouted over, "Natsu, it's time for lunch!"

Natsu and his father ran inside and straight for the kitchen; they sat at the table and ate.

"Did Nala eat?" Joseph asked.

"She still can't keep anything down," Alura said with a worried voice.

"I leave for another search tomorrow. I heard of a wizard who can heal any sickness," Joseph told his wife as he held her.

"Is that possible?" Natsu asked.

"All we can do is pray," Alura told her son.

Natsu was lying on his bed tossing and turning, not being able to sleep, so he got up and went to his sister's room. He quietly and slowly opened the door and walked over to her bed. Nala was sleeping under her covers and was shivering so much that her bed shook with her. Natsu went back to his room and took his blankets, then ran back to Nala; he put his blankets on top of her, hoping it would warm her up, but it didn't, but it did make her shiver less, so he was happy that he helped a little. Not wanting her to be alone, he sat on the floor leaning against the bed and fell asleep.

The following day Joseph was preparing to leave on his trip. Natsu ran over to him and begged for his father to bring him along.

"You need to stay here and protect your sister and your mother," he told his son.

"I want to help Nala too. All I do is sit and watch her slowly die!"

"NATSU! Your sister is not dying!"

"Yes, she is. You can't hide it from me; I've known the second she got sick!"

"He's old enough to understand her situation, Alura," Joseph said as he stood up.

"Please, dad, let me go with you, please."

Joseph and Alura looked at each other and decided he could go.
