Chapter 67: Awareness…

~Silva POV~

[August 21, X784]

Whew…

Finishing up my workouts for the day completing my usual daily mission to earn +3 stats as per usual on the screen I took a glance over the new items I got from my previous mission with Lucy.

The Rare Suit is a skintight armor with a gem in the middle along with a mole-like look and a dark-colored cloth whose gradient would range from black to light grey- depending on the lightning just about as large as a poncho.

But they are extremely useful depending on the situation at hand.

<Observe>.

----

Item: Rare Suit

Rarity Item: A

Type: Armor

Description: Rare Suit is a Shingu that was created four hundred years ago by the Emperor of that time in an attempt to create weapons that could surpass the Teigu. It takes the form of a suit of armor that makes diving into the Earth comparable to <Diver> Magic.

-Soil Extraction: The Rare Suit's ability is soil manipulation. It is unable to create soil out of nothing but can manipulate the preexisting soil around it. Its biggest advantage is burrowing underground, which can be used to surprise attack foes unaware; however, using it puts a great strain on the user's body unless they are at peak human level.

Item: Shroud of Shadows

Rarity Item: A

Type: Magic Cloth

Description: The Shen Gong Wu are powerful magical artifacts created 1500 years ago by the Xiaolin Grand Master Dashi as a means to combat the powerful dark magic of the evil Witch but are lost to time in their disclosed locations. To activate the Shen Gong Wu magical properties the user must call or think of the name of the artifact they possess.

-Invisibility: When activated, it allows the user to make themself or any objects invisible, to a degree. If the thing was too large, the Shroud would only cover what it could.

-Expanding: The shroud has the capacity to expand to a degree. If the user is attacked while using the Shroud the effects will make the user visible.

----

Feeling happy obtaining the items I kept the Shroud around my body acting like a cape as it expanded to how I wanted it enough to create a small hood in the process.

*Wisssh*

Twirling it around I couldn't help but smile at the job well done looking at the new look to help my image better.

Neat.

*Woosh*

That was when Mavis entered through as usual with a light blush on her face I raised an eyebrow at her as she explained, "Let me tell you this Silva… that Lucy girl has some interesting taste in underwear. I felt like going through her clothing to see how she works but…"

Then she shakes her head drawing her attention directed towards me about the progress of my own Magic progress, "Speaking of which… how goes your channeling the spirit of your body into the flow of nature going?"

Blinking a bit I checked my skill progress of using my <Courage>, <Mana Expel>, and <Mana Manipulation> going so far.

Skill List.

----

<Mana Manipulation> (Active) Lv.60/100 Exp: 0.0%

MP Cost: Varies

Description: Magical entities can control mana. They can harness this type of energy from not only their own selves but also the ambiance, since everything that exists possesses vitality, as aforesaid. Rare users can create new mana from nothing. Allowing the user to manipulate their own mana, lets the user gain better control of their mana, allowing them to use it for whatever purpose they need, once skilled enough to manipulate.

<Expel Mana> (Active) Lv.40/100 Exp: 0.4%

MP Cost: Any/Min.

Description: A training exercise used by Mages/Wizards that allows them to expel Mana into the air to know how much Mana is needed to activate their Magic Power to activate their spells or Holder Magic Tools.

-Every level of 25, 50, 75, and 99 reduce MP Costs by 5% each.

<Courage> (Active/Passive) Lv.38/100 Exp: 0.0%

MP Cost: Varies

Description: The Manifestation of the Mana within a skill that is an extremely rare internal type of <Mana Burst>. When Active it acts to internally store Mana within the Gate improving the user control by connecting one with the flow of nature. When passive the user will experience an increase of stats performance.

-Passively increases STR, AGI, VIT, INT, and SEN by 9.5%. Increases by 0.25% per LV.

----

Seeing my progress, I blinked surprised at my control level as Mavis gave me a look over moving around me as I began to use <Courage> and <Mana Manipulation> with a grin on her face.

*Shiii*

Focusing more on my Magic Power connecting through the flow of nature the connection this time feels more…

Content and clean…

Snapping my thoughts was Mavis as she grinned happily clasping her hands together as she talked to me happily, "Good! Very good! It's brief but I felt the connection… the connection of the physical spirit of your life force. The flow of nature just briefly connected… You need to focus a bit more. I don't know by how much maybe next month or a few weeks, but I can tell you getting there."

My eyes widen at Mavis's claims asking in a bit of a hopeful tone grasping at straws, "Wait really? No kidding around?"

She smiled with a definite nod followed by a set of instructions as she instructed me what to do next pointing her finger at her head, "Yes. According to my own research growth of observing given enough time you'll be able to convert your Ethernano into Magic Power. Hopefully by next month or two will see the results."

Nodding happily at that I can't wait!

Like Mavis-sensei said only a few weeks or a month or two before I can use Magic.

I can't wait.

But since I'm nearing the appointed time, I think it's about time I got started on creating some projectile-based skills.

I mean my weapons have been great hell even I rely on them a lot during big fights like my Ricochet Shield and Mastema to handle threats.

Holding onto Hrunting though I can always rely on my weapons to pull me out of close-range battle but long-range?

I grimaced recalling the fight against that French guy Earth Caster that while Mastema was useful in long-range confrontation it wastes my Stamina using it rather than Magic.

One thing that my Teigu's benefit is that I don't rely on my MP bar but on stamina which I can use a lot of thanks to my <Peak VIT> skill. But that won't always be the go-to with these Teigus unlike Hrunting, Shroud of Shadows, and Lostvayne.

Then it's time for the age-old classic training montage to begin!

It's about time I got to work around creating some skills.

Standing up and readying myself to grind Mavis stared at me with a knowing look on her face responding to me in a curious tone, "I know that look on your face, Silva. You are planning on training again I see. Do you plan to train near Magnolia Town to continue your focus or Mt. Hakobe?"

This time I shook my head as I replied getting Mavis curious about my next destination I would head towards next, "No. I prefer the usual training spot like last time you are tutoring me on how to use my Magic Power. And who knows when my spirit finally connects, I'll be able to finally form my innate Magic. Hopefully…"

Her eyes wandered in amusement as she seemed to enjoy my next adventure of furthering my growth, "Oh? Sounds like fun to me! And I won't miss out on anything this time around!! That Galuna Island was a bust, and I missed the Guild War too. This time your trusty guide and sensei will be around!"

She beamed with starry figures around her with a smug smile on her face as I couldn't help but chuckle lightly about her mood.

Packing my things into my <Lost Realm> it was time for another trip of the grind and another series of fun to venture through the world.

/////

*Shiii*

Ahh…

The fresh smell of the East Forest flowers and the wind brushed my face as I saw the area of the clearing around me being so clear, "Ahh… the fresh open air is certainly great. Touch the grass and whatnot."

Stretching my limbs as I activate Lostvayne to create 6 clones as we all know what to do with Mavis taking focus on our interactions, "Alright boys you know what to do. One pair would do our usual Magic control, another pair would expel ethernano for grasping, one would do meditation, and the last clone would be busy with swordsmanship!"

We all did our salutes one pair began to control their mana control, while another was expelling mana and the last one was focusing on meditation while using <Courage> to better connect our spirit to the flow of nature.

This is one of the training practices I do when I need to grind out my skills.

And I'll be the one focusing on my skills as I begin to get used to the hang of my blades while keeping watch as Mavis comes towards me as my clones are busy, "Whoa… this will certainly take some time getting used to. And when were you going to tell me about this Silva? I feel shocked and betrayed!"

I merely rolled my eyes at being overdramatic as one of my clones began to talk to Mavis explaining the abilities of Lostvayne while I had Hrunting by my side just in case something happened.

I mean training Magic is good and all but most importantly I need skills that will surpass against my enemies soon.

Hmm…

I just need to focus on what I can do at hand before assuming things…

Just focus on all I can do and hone it to perfection.

And I have been ignoring my training for a while now concentrating on my Mana since I obtained it never really put any training into it unlike my <Cyrokinesis>.

I think it's time to change that little fact.

Focusing on meditation I try to picture myself trying to obtain my Magic again.

Whew…

Here I go.

~Mavis POV~

[August 26, X784]

5 days have come and gone with Silva's training progressing with each step of the way. He has been someone who works hard to achieve the kind of level he wants to grasp.

It's inspiring in a way.

The more he focuses on other subjects the more he will be distracted. In honestly, I say he should focus on one thing at a time but with his Magic Sword creating weaker versions holding a fraction of his power I held my ghostly tongue.

The growth rate from all of them is staggering yet unbelievable at the same time. Each clone of his is growing more and more each time doing one task even with breaks as to not overly exhaust his mind it's scary even.

His natural talent for growing is unfadable which makes me stump at how fast his progressing in his skills. For example, his swordsmanship with the Mugetsu-Style after viewing it a few times is astounding as is scary.

*Brrr*

To be able to produce fire from his swings alone gesturing from my estimates of previous users could only be able to reach this feat around the prime of their lifetime being 40 or 35 years of age unless highly talented.

He beat that record in a mere few months. His talent and growth are unlike anything I have ever seen before, and it doesn't help that God helped him be limitless.

It does beg the question did this godly figure predict his growth to be out of this world blessing him with limitless potential that remains untapped?

He doesn't have big Magic Power compared to most mages out there, but his growth is what makes up for it being stronger.

Although despite his clones properly controlling his Magic Power, I can certainly see Silva is up to something with the complicated expression shown on his face.

Sensing his inner magic within as a spirit I closed my eyes to see what's the issue. Frowning observing his actions within the flow of nature as he feels lost.

His close I'm sure but he needs a guiding hand. No, a push more like it.

I might help but it's frowned upon to do that method. I'll consider it if his having trouble finding the way.

But it seems like his concentrating hard for now.

Hopefully, it doesn't come down to forcibly awakening his Magic Power since that cost more lives to know in history learning the hard way only 10% are capable of magic while trial and error the 90% have their spirit destroyed in the process.

Well either way this training for him seems to be going swimmingly wheel along with his Magic Power Control being able to multitask like that.

How curious his future going to be hmm…

But…

I get the distinct feeling that despite trying to unlock his spirit I get the sense his own mental barriers are what's causing him to not access his full potential.

Magic needs to relate to the flow of nature which is essential but also another factor equally important to finding a connection...

Faith.

Having faith in one's own ability.

If one doesn't have faith in their own ability won't have faith in their Magic Power to be unlocked and remain locked for that's what he believes it to be.

He might need to change his way of thinking first but I need to examine Silva more to find out if that's what's causing him to fail.

I can't imagine someone like him not having faith in himself despite how far he would go for his own guildmates…

There must be something I'm missing I haven't accounted for…

I need to observe and examine him more to confirm my suspicions that his mental thoughts are blocking his faith but I won't know till I observe him some more just to be certain.
