Face Your Mistakes

Delyth; The girl who took her power as a beautiful young lady for granted. The girl who would use her looks to get what she wanted, to be able to get away with things she shouldn't be able to. Sylvie; The girl who took her anger out on the innocent, the girl who didn't stop to appreciate what was giving her fresh air to breathe. Vaan; The boy who was too reckless to see the big picture, too reckless to comprehend the real meaning to not be scared of death, too reckless to care for other's well-being. Solon; The boy who used his intelligence as a weapon. The boy who instead of using his mind to help society, used it for his own gain. Those are all completely different people. But if they were really so different from each other then why were they put together to survive in such a situation? How did they even end up in this place? Stuck in a stupid video game. With a system they were yet to understand. A system that would bring back their worst memories and tell them to face it, a system that would force enemies to become frenemies, a system where the only way out and back to having normal lives is by completing challenges and gaining points. Challenges that seem all too targeted against each of them. Little do they know, they were put in this situation for a reason. What is this reason you may ask? Well that's for me to know, and for you to find out. Each character has done something, taken something for granted, something that they will soon come to realize it's real meaning. Their abilities inside of the game each have a meaning, a meaning that might make sense if they knew what each of their names meant. Accompany these four different teenagers as they try to figure out why they were put in this situation and why they're forced to work together despite the tension between some of them. All you need to know is the one thing they all have in common, the reason they are here in the first place is the first message they saw as realization dawned on them as they entered the game. "You're going to have to Face Your Mistakes if you want to make it out of this game alive."

Normally the intelligent people would use their knowledge for good right? Like becoming an engineer, pilot, ect.

But no, not this guy.

Solon was overlooked at times because not many people knew how he actually was.

Well, if they knew how he really was that would be a different story.

He used his intelligence only to benefit himself, only for him to be able to get the easy way out of situations and he never really knew how to normally solve a problem.

Instead he would always look for a shortcut.

April 18th, Wednesday, 2051.

Solon looked out the window lost in his thoughts.

Silently admiring the flock of birds on someone's rooftop, The way the wind blew and gently caressed the leaves of trees.

He soon stopped getting lost in his train of thought when his wristwatch started making noises, indicating that it was a certain time of the day.

Solon glanced down checking the time.

12:00 P.M.

He had practice.

He quickly got ready as he left his house, plugging in his headphones to listen to music as he walked to his school's gym.

He didn't really go to class much since he was much more advanced than the rest of the kids in his class.

Sometimes he'd only go just for attendance.

But there was one thing that mattered to him when it came to class, and that was the sport he indulged himself in so much.

As Solon arrived, he placed his belongings down as he took off his headphones.

He looked around to see that no one had arrived yet.

He glanced back down at his watch to check the time once more. "I guess I'm early." Solon shrugged as he just started stretching in advance.

Sooner or later, more and more people arrived and entered, some joining Solon in stretching and slight practice before their coach came.

Solon's P.O.V.

After all of the sh*t that coach threw at us I sat down on the ground.

So, apparently there's this random ass school that's going to stay with us for the night and we need to help them train for their upcoming match.

Guess I won't be going home today.

I leaned my head against the wall behind me, slowly closing my eyes as I did so.

I feel like I'm forgetting to do something though.. Probably isn't important anyways-

My eyes immediately flew open once I remembered.

Sh*t.

I checked the time and I sighed in relief as I knew our coach was out on lunch break at this time.

I slowly approached his office making sure no one saw me as I did so.

Silently, I turned the door knob.

I scanned the room for a second making sure no one was there as I was ready to create an excuse right on spot as to why I'm entering the coach's office.

As I was looking around, something caught my eye.

"Oh? I don't remember this being here?" My eyes landed on what seemed to be an old machine? P.C? whatever the hell that thing looked like.

It was odd and quite out of place, but I have to admit..

It was slightly mesmerizing.

I shook my head as I made a beeline towards the desk that stood in the middle of the room.

Laying on that desk though was exactly what I needed.

The coach's laptop.

I slowly opened it as I stared at the lock screen.

Password? hm..

This wasn't here last time.

I tried racking up my brain to figure out what are my possible options for figuring out the password.

As I looked to my left I saw a picture frame.

There in the picture frame was what seemed to be a selfie of both the coach and a puppy.

Upon closer inspection the puppy had a collar that had letters on it.

Those letters spelt out the name 'FluffCake'.

I tried not to laugh as I read that, but quickly I focused once again on my main goal.

He started typing in 'FluffCake' as the password to see if it worked.

[Declined]

Huh? I could've sworn that would work-

Wait.. let me try.

My fingers immediately started typing in my next best guess.

'FluffCake123'.

[Accepted]

There we go.

Immediately I opened a bunch of files trying to figure out where the file that I was looking for was.

-----

Hacking.

Yes, you read that correctly.

Solon was hacking.

Why? you may ask? well it's simple really.

He wanted certain things his way and this was the easiest way to do so.

As Solon finished his dirty work he glanced at the time.

"Oh thank god." Solon sighed in relief. He still had a couple minutes before his coach came back.

So he put everything back in place and walked away..

It was as if he was never there..

Solon's P.O.V

I was standing with my teammates as our coach introduced each one of us to the other team that was going to be staying with us for the night.

There was this one guy though...

He was giving me a weird ass look.

He had this weird crazy look in his eyes when the coach introduced me.

I almost didn't hear what the coach said until I brought myself back to reality.

I was only able to hear the last of coach's sentence when he was introducing me.

"-player in the boy's high school category." Our coach said, proudly.

I didn't hear what was before it, but I smirked either way.

The way he sounded so fond of me gave me slight pride.

We soon ended up heading back to where we were going to stay and sleep for the night.

-

April 19th, Thursday, 2051.

I made sure I didn't fall asleep as I waited for everyone to drift off into dream land first.

Once I was sure everyone was asleep including our coach, I made my move.

I slowly tiptoed out of the room, trying to make the least amount of noise as possible.

As I silently walked down the hallway, I looked around making sure u wasn't being spotted.

I didn't see anyone in my vision so I gave myself the all clear to continue.

I skimmed through all the doors looking to see which one was our coach's office.

It was hard being able to see in the moonlight, besides, the sun was coming up soon so I had to be quick.

Once my eyes laid on the familiar door, I immediately made a beeline towards it.

(Little did Solon know.. Someone was already hot on his tail.)

I walked towards the all too familiar desk once again and slowly sat down.

Opening up the laptop once again, I needed to check if the programs I put on it finished downloading.

As I was in the middle of wrapping up my hacking program that I made, the door to the office slammed open.

Startled I stared upwards, my eyes widening as I realized that it was the same guy from before...

The brunette with green highlights..

-----

Solon looked shocked at the fact that he had been caught red handed.

But it can't be over yet right? He doesn't know what Solon was doing here in the first place so he might get away it.

Solon was barely able to react before the brunette flipped the laptop towards him.

Solon was in shock when he realized what situation he was going to be in if word gets out.

The brunette's eyes dilated as he looked enraged.

"Oh sh*t-" Solon mumbled to himself before he was cut off by the boy lunging himself at him.

I mean, what did that boy expect?

After all, Solon couldn't stay in first place without at least doing a little something...

Solon's P.O.V.

We were in the middle of tackling each other while I was trying to dodge his punches that were aimed recklessly, so it wasn't that hard to predict where his next punch was going to land.

But what happened next... I would've never predicted.

His arm swung backwards as he was trying to gain momentum to land an even stronger punch, but instead, he ended up hitting an object from a top shelf.

In what I think was an attempt to dodge the falling object he threw me on the piece of machinery that had caught my eye earlier.

I, of course wasn't going down without a fight so I grabbed him by the collar of his shirt, dragging him down with me.

As we both collided against the machine a loud noise was heard that rang in my ear in a torturous way.

This ringing was almost unbearable as we both immediately got off each other, both of us more focused on covering our ears from the sound than beating the sh*t outta each other.

As the ringing stopped I opened my eyes as I scanned my surroundings once again.

But this time I was scanning a completely unfamiliar location.

Where the hell was I?

I heard three sounds immediately after I had opened my eyes.

They way I would describe them is as if it was a cannon thud.

I heard a thud immediately after I opened my eyes, a thud a couple seconds later and another one right after that.

Before u could analyse what was making those thuds, something had appeared in front of me.

In large text, something was written in my vision.

"𝚈𝚘𝚞'𝚛𝚎 𝚐𝚘𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚝𝚘 𝚑𝚊𝚟𝚎 𝚝𝚘 𝙁𝙖𝙘𝙚 𝙔𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙈𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙠𝙚𝙨 𝚒𝚏 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚠𝚊𝚗𝚝 𝚝𝚘 𝚖𝚊𝚔𝚎 𝚒𝚝 𝚘𝚞𝚝 𝚘𝚏 𝚝𝚑𝚒𝚜 𝚐𝚊𝚖𝚎 𝚊𝚕𝚒𝚟𝚎."
