Chapter 10

Malibu beach, California.

Lester was supposed to go to a beach resort in Malibu but he changed his mind. That might not be safe for him, also, he misses the simplicity of the plain ocean. He remembers how good he was at swimming and fishing.

So before they went to Malibu, Mr. Johnson asked one of his friends who had a vacation house in Malibu that they will rent for two days instead. After all, no one lives there.

Some of the plan changed as well, it was Zeke who drove the car instead of Aubrey but his silence was deafening.

Lester glanced at the rearview mirror and he accidentally met Zeke's gaze. He could not understand the sudden pounding of his heart. He swallowed a lump in his throat.

Despite the anger and discomfort he felt towards him, Lester still noticed the strangeness in his eyes.

‘Is he wearing contact lenses? Are his eyes really silver or am I hallucinating?’ Lester could not help but think about it.
