105 Scorched Forest
A group of five people was moving carefully along an empty street.
A beautiful woman would stop from time to time to survey her surroundings using her clairvoyance ability. While everyone waited for her to finish, an average looking guy at the back of the group suddenly asked.
"Don't you guys this guys think this is too quiet?"
This took everyone by surprise and turned to face the fifth guy in fighting stances.
"Stan?? You were in the party too??"
Scott looked at Stan with a clearly surprised face trying to remember the reunion from before.
"You know that I walked with you for 10 blocks already… and we had this conversation when we were about to leave the base… of course, I'm part of the group."
After being told that the group remembered that he had joined the group and he was one of the five original members.
The group composed by Johanna, Stan, and Scott. The fourth member was Frederick a blue-eyed blonde with an athletic complexion, he was also one of the rare people who had more than one ability, enhanced hearing, and agility.
The fifth was supposed to be Spencer, but due to him being bitten by a snake and being unconscious, they had to look for a replacement for him. The girl's name was Inés, she had tan skin black hair and brown eyes. After the meteor shower thanks to her ability she was one of the main scouts, she could use optic camouflage how most people called it.
"Can you keep talking or something? We would forget that you are here otherwise…" Inés asked.
"If you want to hear my beautiful voice all the time, you can just ask for it, but I have to disappoint you because I already have someone in my heart."
Frederick just followed his talking to not forget that he was there.
"Who is this time? is Johanna getting another confession?"
"Johanna ?? Nah…"
"Then who is it?"
"Hayley…" Frederick started to think about who he knew with that name, but it was Inés that one that figured out.
"The Ice Queen From the new guy's group?"
"Ice Queen?"
"Most people call her like that. Apparently, she doesn't talk too much with people, always have an aloof aura around her, and she can control ice or something like that right?"
"I have never noticed that aura you talk about when I saw her, she seemed a normal girl, but she does control ice…"
"I think that the mind guy Ian had a crush on her too right?" Johanna mentioned that.
Scott remembered what he heard before.
"Yeah, I remember that I heard that he even tried to manipulate her mind to make her come to Green Shelter earlier."
"And it didn't work?" Inés was surprised that something was capable of blocking Ian's control. Ian was known in Green Shelter because he was one of the stronger telepaths they had.
"Spencer noticed it and stopped it."
Inés spoke up again.
"That guy sound really interesting… I want to meet him."
"Wait he has a crush on Hayley too?" Stan was too surprised to react before and sizing up his competition.
"I hear that he has it since high school or something, but at that time she was Spencer's girlfriend."
Scott frown.
"What so good about the guy?? He comes here takes our supplies without even joining officially, and on the second day, get's bitten? He is a fraud, I don't trust him."
Johanna smiled.
"You may not like him but the guy is smart enough to understand what was happening before even Dr. Harting noticed it, and thanks to his intel we have an idea about the identity of the third party behind the kidnaps. Also, I heard that he was fighting half a dozen evolved snakes, and the one that managed to bite him was one that came back to life."
"That has to be a lie."
"Well, that's what Gabriel and Leon said it happened."
"Shhht!! "
Frederick made everyone stop talking and closed his eyes focusing on his hearing, he could listen to hooves coming their way.
"Goats about half dozen of them." As Johanna saw Frederick expression, she used her power to confirm a flock of goats coming this way.
Under Frederick command, they all moved inside a building to hide. They were in a scouting mission and even if most of them knew how to fight, that was no their main strength and it was not their mission, so hiding was the best option.
They all waited for the flock to pass. Inés was looking outside the window to be sure that everything was alright.
"I didn't expect to see goats in this area, they usually wander around the east of the city."
"Me either, and we haven't seen a single reptile… Just a couple of days ago this area was filled with snakes, and lizards, I haven't seen too many rats either. It's odd" Answered Scott.
"Maybe Spencer killed all of them before he got bitten." Inés said with a smile teasing Scott.
"They already left keep moving." Before Scott got time to get mad at Inés, Frederick gave the new orders.
Frederick and Johanna both confirmed that the flock already left the area and they could start moving again, they had yet to cover some distance to arrive at a place near Ramsey's condo.
They continued to move south while talking about Spencer's group, completely unaware of the pair of eyes that were looking from the sky.

I was in the middle of a forest, running in a certain direction I couldn't stop moving or they would catch up to me.
I was being followed by fire snakes that were burning the forest, and as the trees burn more and more snakes appeared and chase after me… I have to escape from them and only have one direction I could, I hope I find a river, a lake or something to protect myself from the fire.
All I had that could work as a weapon was a simple stick that I pick up when I first noticed the fire snakes spreading the fire, but as soon as I hit a snake that tried to jump on me it caught fire, and I had to let it go.

Time Distortion?
Nothing was working. Al I could do was try my best to avoid when a snake jumped on me, but more and more snakes appeared.
The fire was catching the trees on my sides, and I could feel the heat getting nearer. I tried to run faster, but I was getting tired, the smoke started to burn on my lungs, and it was getting more and more difficult to breathe as the time passes.
I slowed down I couldn't keep the speed, the snakes were about to reach me.
The trees in front started to burn too, and I was completely surrounded, the burning trees created more fire snakes, leaving me no place to go.
All I had left to do was facing the fire snakes, but I knew that it was meaningless I could hurt them.
As I was about to lose hope, a white light spread from the trees in the front, when they got surrounded by the white light they stopped burning and a second later only the black trees were behind.
A little white bunny moved around spreading the white light extinguishing the fire around me.
The snakes ran away toward the part of the forest that was still burning.
And after a few moments, all that was left behind was a scorched forest, a bunny jumping around, and a beautiful blond girl with a ponytail and tears on her eyes.
I felt beaten and tired, but the white light coming from the girl had an effect on me too, my lungs stopped burning, and I could breathe normally again.
She ran towards me and hugged me while crying. Her hug had a recovery effect on it which made me tighten the embrace.
"I'm sorry…I'm sorry…"
I didn't get why she was apologizing, but I knew that Rose had just saved my life. I didn't like her feeling guilty, so I had to shut her lips with mine, we kissed for what felt like hours.
"Thank you." I said to her when we finally separated.
She looked back at me still with tears in her eyes and complex emotions. I understood that she had to go now, to the real world. She knew that too, so looked at her bunny.
"Lucy take care of him."
The little white bunny jumped on my shoulder while Rose faded away.
Once Rose left I looked around me only to found a grey and black landscape and just the spot where Rose and I hug had some green grass on it.
As soon as Rose left some of the fire Snakes appeared, but Lucy's presence made them stay away, lurking in the shadows…
I just closed my eyes waiting for the nightmare to end.
