130 Out of Her Body

"What do you mean?"

The most surprised of them all was Sigrid.

"The last memory was this moment… it was like she was watching us from that corner, a blonde girl with a ponytail got near to talk to her and then Spencer went to her…"

Sigrid was looking at me with hope on her eyes.

"You can see my sister? What happened to her?"

"It wasn't me the one that saw her, it was my girlfriend Rose, the blonde with a ponytail."

All of them saw me with confusion, waiting for me to explain more.

"She has an exceptional power, it's long and complex to explain it now, but all you need to know about it Rose is that she is here and she has been looking for soul damage on the patients."

Ian seemed to think a little before talking.

"I remember you mentioned your girlfriend coming, but as I didn't saw her, I thought that she was staying in Green Shelter."

"She came with us using her ability. The case of Nadja is not like Conrad… as Robbert already saw, her mind is in a perfect state not destroyed like the others, her problem is that she had an… out of body experience. During the meteor shower, something forced her to create an astral body and leave her physical body. Basically, it's like her soul was separated, that's why she can see all that is happening, her astral body is here, but for some reason, she can't connect back with her body."

"Then Nadja is alive but isolated from her body, and she can't control it? What are we going to do?"

"Rose might have a way to help her, so we are taking Nadja with us."

Sigrid fell on her knees and started crying. All the weight on her was released at that time.

"Thank you…"

"You have nothing to thank me, I evaluated everyone the same."

"Yes, but if you and your girlfriend didn't come in this group no one would have known what was really happening…"

"Who knows, maybe someone else would have noticed, there are a lot of powers to see, there must be someone else that is capable of it." I looked at Dr. Santana that was still dumbfounded of how everything happened.

"Does she really had chances?"

"Yes, if you don't believe me, you can see it for yourself, once you are in Green Shelter."

"It would be nice… but I'm not going to Green Shelter."

It was my turn to be surprised.

"Why?"

"I'm going to stay here with my patients till the end."

I studied her for a while, there was no hesitation or doubts in her eyes.

"Someone needs to take care of them until the end."

"Dr. Sullivan will be here too."

She gave me a wry smile.

"I know, but… I will stay here anyway, there is no real motivation for me to continue. During the event, my husband died, and one week later my son was killed by those beasts… This clinic became my life and kept me busy, but without them here it was already difficult for me to continue. Now that we must leave, I see no point on surviving any longer. I want to reunite with my husband and son."

I could see that it was something that she decided to do a while ago, I couldn't imagine the idea of losing your loved ones.

All I did was nod to her.

"In that case, I wish you the best for you and your patients, it was an honor Dr."

"It was my honor Spencer, you are an amazing man, and I'm sure you are going to do great things in the future."

We shake hands and left that place, Sigrid and Dr. Santana didn't come with us and instead helped with Sigrid's niece transportation.

I went to check on the second floor, the only person left was Javier which was being moved now to the first floor.

On the first floor, Mr. D'Aurora was giving orders, the place was a little chaotic, and everyone was divided into smaller groups. I looked around to see mostly ordinary people, there might be some that would be able to fight, but I wouldn't depend on it. It's going to be difficult to defend so many people on the way.

I went to talk to Mr. D'Aurora, who already noticed me going towards him.

"Finished checking patients?"

"Yes, the only ones that we are missing are Javier Secada and Nadja Lindhal. They are bringing Javier now so we are only missing Nadja and we will be ready to go."

"Nadja? I thought that she didn't have any chances."

"Her situation it's particular, we have a way to help her in Green Shelter."

He nodded, with his head with a slight smile.

"That's good, I met the girl once a year ago, she is a brilliant girl that suffered a lot when her parents died. Instead of drowning on self-pity it became her strength… She wants to be a doctor to save people you know? She said that way she can stop people from feeling what she felt."

"If that's the case then I'm glad that she will come with us, with how the things are if she makes an effort, she will be able to help in the clinic."

"She is still young for that, but learning wouldn't be bad, I have to get thing ready to move as soon as she is here, go prepare your group to leave at sunrise."

"Are the combatants informed about it?"

"Yes, we keep constant communications with them through messengers, they already know that we are leaving soon."

"Ok, I'll go look for the rest of my team and be sure that they are ready."

Before leaving I told the rest of the group to wait for me in the clinic and try to help with the evacuation, I was going to wake up G, and when everything was ready for the evacuation, we will reunite again.

I went outside, I saw that G was sleeping of the footsteps of a nearby building, Emma was next to him wrapped around his jacket, a couple steps away one of the goons sleeping while the other looked around.

I got near G without waking him up, the goon did nothing to stop me.

"Hey G." I didn't talk too loud, to not wake up everyone. G opened his eyes, and as usual looked like s**t in the morning.

"Sleeping comfortably? We are leaving at sunrise so get ready."

He yawned.

"Sure, Sure. Did you do everything you came here for?"

"Yes, almost everything is ready, they are getting ready to evacuate now."

"Ok, I will be ready too."

He yawned again. I turned around and noticed Mikaela coming in my way.

"Spencer! There is a problem."

I turned serious and walked back to the clinic at a fast pace.

"What happened?"

"Dr. Sullivan is making a ruckus because you accepted Nadja and not Conrad, he doesn't want to let them take her to the first floor."

I started to walk faster.

When I got inside, I couldn't see Mr. D'Aurora around, but most people were focusing on the stairs.

I walked that way and found Dr. Sullivan blocking the stairs on the second floor. Nadja was on a stretcher, held by paramedics, Sigrid and Dr. Santana were with them. At Dr. Sullivan's side, there were three more guys dressed as paramedics. Mr. D'Aurora was on the middle trying to calm both parties.

"Mr. Davies explained that they have a way to help Nadja, that's the reason they decided to take her with them."

"Yeah! Sure, that B**ch probably promised them something so they would bring that girl!! How is possible that they can cure her and not Conrad!!"

Dr. Sullivan was entirely out of control. So I stepped up and talked.

"The reason for both comas are different I know someone that can help Nadja, Conrad case is different."

"You!!! Yeah right, why should I believe you?!"

"It's not like I care if you believe me or not, I already made my decision."

I saw that there were more people with him.

"This is just petty revenge on me because I tried to trick you right?"

"No, Conrad has nothing to do with what you do, because of that you are staying here and not coming. Now all of you get out, you are delaying the evacuation, and that means more danger for the people in this place."

"You already condemned Conrad and me. I don't care if you all die with me being eaten by beasts."

"Then this is your revenge…"
