171 Hayley’s Request

All of them were looking at the gift box.

I'm surprised that Dana didn't come running to see the contents of the box, but something seems to be happening between Dana and Dante. She is pouting, and he appears to be lecturing her about something.

As soon as I thought about it, the answer appeared in my head.

'When she was coming home from school she stopped to pet puppies!! I can not believe this betrayal!'

Poor Dana… I think it would have been better if he found out that she was petting a mouse or a hamster.

After hearing him, I decided to trust him that he will not do anything to Dana. With that taken care off, I focused back on the gift box.

Unlike before, when I opened it there were no books inside. The first thing that called my attention was a stripped pink bag with a stylish V and S fused together. Any person would recognize the brand, and the three girl's eyes sparkled and went for it right away. (Please be for Rose!!!).

I'm not sure if it was fate or if the system knew about my problems, but there was a pillow that I grabbed immediately since the girls were focused on the pink bag I took the chance and won the pillow.

Once I won the pillow and noticed that Rose was all smiles because whatever was inside the bag was for her my mood improved by a lot.

I kept taking things out, there were clothes for the girls, cooking stuff and card games, until I found the tickets. Like last time there were four tickets inside of it.

I used the system points tickets first and got a more decent amount than last time, thanks to that my total point got to 551 points. After using it to get the last ticket I will be left with just 50 points, so I'll go to either hunt or do something to get more points.

This time both tickets were for clothing items.

I wasn't sure what to do with them because in the end those always end up giving whatever they want despite who opens them. I gave both tickets to Hope and Hayley for them to try their luck.

Hope didn't wait and used her ticket right away, on her hands a pair of sneakers appeared from nowhere. I noticed that her arms got lower than they should when they received the weight of the sneakers.

"Wow, these are heavy."

I took a closer look at them, but they didn't seem to be reinforced anywhere. The sole seemed to be thicker than the usual.

"Let me see that."

Hope gave me one, and it was a little heavier as if there was something extra inside but nothing that provided extra protection, the additional weight seemed to be in the soles like if there was something inside them.

I looked at Hope, and she was making it the shoe float with her power.

"That's it!"

Hope looked at me for a second before asking.

"What? … I don't like that look."

"You will like it… your new training it's to use those shoes to move around when you are outside the house."

"What? How?"

"They work like the cars, if you manage to make them work you should be able to use them like roller skates, they were created a little before the meteor shower, probably like the MRGR they will not work on their own, so it's on you to learn how to use them."

"Roller skates? That sounds fun."

It might actually work for her as training.

The current technology used for city cars consisted of powerful magnets. This together with the new breakthrough of a specially designed asphalt with a high metallic content made it that the vehicles inside the main cities became a lot more efficient and the streets now need a lot less maintenance. These sneakers were similar to them as they have magnets on the soles with the purpose to float.

I handed the shoe back to Hope and looked at Hayley who was holding a brown leathery jacket with green lines around. I couldn't see anything weird on it despite it being reinforced on some parts. She looked at it for a while and smiled awkwardly.

"I think this is your size."

She said handing it back to me. I looked at it and was indeed the same size as me.

"Great I hope I don't ruin this one."

"Hey at least you are making some advances, you didn't end in the hospital this time."

They laughed a little at G's comment as I tried it on. It fitted me perfectly, I don't know what it was made of, but it was at the same time durable and light, since I'm not familiar with the material it was made of I'm not sure about how much protection it brings.

The last ticket was pretty close to what I wanted, Enhanced Strength(+). I would have preferred Endurance or Stamina, but strength filled a similar idea of what I wanted for G.

Both were going to help his muscles evolve, and this was the place where he stored the energy from his ability, with a larger storage capacity he can stay active more time, and probably would be able to even improve the output of the energy making it even more domineering.

I'm not gonna lie, I'm a little tempted to use it on myself to hit harder, but I still think that G is the best option to get this.

"Hey G, take this."

I pass him the ticket, and he received the prompt from the system.

"You don't have this one right? why you are giving it to me?"

"I'm getting bored of kicking your ass, so I need something more challenging."

"Yeah sure, don't go around snitching me on Rose when you are crying on the floor."

He answered with a cheeky smile.

With that everything on the box was taken care of.

"Now we have to choose who and what ability will we get from the mission reward. Initially, I thought of getting an ability for G, but since he got one from the box, I think we can see other options."

They just nodded.

"I'm not opposed to getting another ability…"

"Yes but since you already got that one we can see if someone else can use this one."

"Can I have it?"

Hayley's voice surprised me, she wasn't one of my first options, but she didn't get any reward from the mission, and she was on it… it seemed right to agree with her. I thought of reflexes or some way for her to focus faster, maybe a mind enhance.

"Are you interested in a power?"

"Since you got an induce courage skill I thought that I might get something like that to counter my aura… even when I control it, non-Esper people get weird around me…"

I should have thought about it… it should be pretty annoying have to control your power every second.

After I got the first two inducement abilities on the shop, there was the option of getting the other ones. Calming Inducement (Sight) was precisely what Hayley wanted, it might not be enough to completely counter her aura, but it should help her a lot.

I looked at the other just to confirm their thoughts out of respect, but we all agreed to give the ticket to her, it might not feel as it was a significant buff in battle, but improving her day to day life was equally important.

'System get me Calming Inducement (Sight).'

After the confirmation, a ticket appeared on my hands, and I passed it to Hayley right away. She received it with small tears in her eyes.

"From what I have seen of your ability I think that there might be other emotions so courage might not be the best for it, so I thought that calming was better."

She nodded.

"Thank you… I'll go use it now."

She stood up and went to her room to use the ticket right away. I looked at Isabella, and before I could ask her to keep an eye on Hayley, she went after her.

"I'll see how she is handling it."

"I'll go use the ticket too."

"Ok, don't die."

G made an inappropriate gesture with his hand to show me his feelings before leaving.

"So that's all right?"

Hope wanted to try her sneakers as soon as possible.

"Yes, I'll get a spin on the roulette to try my luck."

"Good luck then, I'll go out for a minute."

She left right away as she couldn't use them inside the house.

The wheel started to spin again, last time from here I got Time Healing, so it was worth the risk. The Wheel slowly stopped in a weird symbol that gave me shivers.
