Exorcist in America

"Father Yorks, may I ask what is meant by scientific exorcism?" A large group of priests in divine robes at the bottom stared at the man on top of the high platform, their eyes fiery as they asked. Listening to the task released in his ears, the corners of Yorks' mouth rose slightly, and "What do you mean by scientific exorcism? My answer is that we have to utilize the characteristics of modern technology in conjunction with our traditional exorcism methods to exorcise demons ......" "We all know that the evil spirit hates our recitation of the Bible, so we can record our recitation and play it out through audio, tormenting it every day and making it physically ill ......" "The evil spirit hates holy water and holy water will cause it as much damage as fire, if it doesn't come out and does its little tricks to disgust people every day, then we can ask the homeowner's permission to use the showerhead to sweep through the house and irritate it every day, of course this will require a lot of holy water, so roll it up ...... " "If an evil spirit or demonic being descends, we'll just blast it to death with a gun, if the gun doesn't work, then a cannon, if the cannon doesn't work, then a nuke, if the nuke doesn't work, then just wait for it to die ......" "......" Perverts, witches, magic, vampires, werewolves, demons, killers, the main one is a scientific [physical] exorcism ...... ----------------------- It's 1 chapter per day at 1 p.m. (Arizona) in every novel I upload. 3 daily chapters in each novel on patreon! p@treon.com/INNIT ----------------------- DISCLAIMER The story belongs entirely to the original author.

Chapter 182: A New Incident

Knowing only about the incident and the deaths, but not the process or the reasons, Jeffrey had to combine the available information with meticulous reasoning to find a lead and direction.

Currently, Jeffrey personally visited the morgue in the basement to inspect the scene. Just one night had passed, and the corridors were sprayed with blood, with a body at the main entrance impaled by a fire axe.

As he walked through the scene, he found police officers lying in pools of blood.

He couldn't imagine what these people had gone through before dying, but his attention immediately focused on the unidentified female corpse.

The scene was chaotic, showing signs of a bloody struggle and even suicides, similar to the Brulo family case.

Conventional reasoning seemed powerless in these bizarre cases, leading Jeffrey to consider supernatural causes.

"Chief!"

A police officer, with a grave expression, approached and handed him a report about the scene.

Jeffrey took it without a glance, his eyes fixed on the trail of blood leading from the main entrance. He recalled his previous theory about the Brulo family trying to escape from somewhere familiar.

Following the blood trail, Jeffrey asked a question.

The officer responded, "It's still here, Chief."

Hearing this, Jeffrey quickened his pace, heading straight to the autopsy room.

Upon entering, he was surprised to find the unidentified female corpse in perfect condition, lying on the autopsy table.

Jeffrey frowned, scanning the room.

All the tools around appeared untouched, as if the body had just been placed there.

This was very unusual.

Jeffrey turned to Beck, who also seemed puzzled, suggesting they had reached the same conclusion.

The main purpose of bringing the corpse here was to determine the cause and nature of death.

To ascertain whether it was suicide or homicide, estimate the time of death, and provide possible clues and evidence for the investigation.

Logically, given the urgency and his orders, the state of the female corpse should have been mid-autopsy, not untouched.

"Did you check the cameras?" Jeffrey asked an officer.

The officer's face was grim: "We did, but there's something very strange, Chief."

Jeffrey glanced at him.

"We're missing last night's footage," the officer said, puzzled.

Jeffrey wasn't surprised. He continued to stare at the silently lying corpse.

"Beck, it looks like we were right."

Beck nodded. "Should we inform the Father?"

"Yes, that's best. Let's not do anything for now," Jeffrey said expressionlessly.

"Secure the scene, touch nothing, and wait for the Father."

"Got it," Beck said, patting the bewildered officer beside him.

"Come with me."

After leaving the autopsy room,

"Yes, Chief!" the officer hurriedly followed Beck.

For a moment, Jeffrey was alone, scanning the area before slowly backing away.

Outside, the officers saluted as Jeffrey pulled out his phone in a quieter area.

His only way to contact the Father was by phone.

Unbeknownst to Jeffrey, as he left the autopsy room, the unidentified woman's finger twitched slightly.

"..."

"Dawn breaks, hope awakens."

"We call upon Your holy name, our hearts aligned with Yours."

"Wherever we go, You are with us."

"..."

The song played from every speaker in the car, and York relaxed his grip on the accelerator, enjoying the moment.

It had to be said, Howard Martin's people did an excellent job with the modifications.

Even the speakers were top-notch, enhancing his experience. Expensive things always had their reasons.

Because of this, York eased off the accelerator again, prolonging his enjoyment.

For him, going to the church was akin to going to work. He had always treated being a Father as a profession.

As the song's tempo increased, York smiled.

"Procrastination is human nature."

He had already applied double buffs to all the accumulated weapons. His tasks for the day were the routine ones and writing a report.

As long as today wasn't over, there was still time.

Old man Gabe might complain, though.

"Still, as long as I finish the report before today ends, it's all good."

York kept his expression steady, turning the car towards Pluto Church, but his speed gradually decreased.

The next song was more upbeat than the previous, somewhat religious one.

York reclined his seat, ready to enjoy the ride to the church.

But just as the song reached its climax, he sensed his phone vibrating.

Seeing the caller ID, York had a hunch.

"Jeffrey? Another supernatural case?"

After several interactions, York had figured out Jeffrey's by-the-book personality. The man wouldn't call unless it was important.

York paused the music and picked up the phone with one hand while steering.

"Hello?"

The steady voice reached Jeffrey, who was starting to clear the morgue. Relieved, he asked cautiously,

"Father, are you at Pluto Church?"

York, not one for beating around the bush, responded, "No, just tell me what's going on."

Sensing the implication, Jeffrey recalled the eerie unidentified female corpse, gripped his phone tighter, and said gravely, "Father, I might have encountered another supernatural case. I'm not sure, can you come and take a look?"

Just as expected...

York squinted his eyes, "Address."

Jeffrey quickly gave the morgue's address and heard the phone hang up.

Stowing his phone, Jeffrey took a deep breath, turned, and walked out to wait for the Father.

Before leaving, he ordered all officials to leave the scene.

As the last person left,

In the autopsy room, the unidentified woman's right foot twitched slightly again.

Simultaneously, all the monitors in the surveillance room flickered to static.

"..."

When Jeffrey learned of this, he was already outside, waiting for the Father, feeling a mix of tension, relief, and ease.

He was nervous about the increasingly bizarre turn of events but relieved that the Father seemed to be in the city and on his way.

"Good thing everyone's been evacuated," Jeffrey thought.
