Exodus: Infinity 》Connected《

Thirty years from now, humans finally turn their attention into space. At the dawn of a new century, 2100 A.D, Earth's atmosphere is near inhabitable. Orbital colonies are created. It is too late now to emphasize natural energy. With the exhaustion of their natural resources, deep space mining companies started to wander off further away from the system. This became a form of example. Even with the speed of light, interstellar travel is too slow. Not until the perfection of Suspended Animation solved the issue. After the war with the Dominion. The first colonists were sent into the system of Sarys. Approximately three hundred years away. After thirty years, it was deemed successful. Powerful syndicates and the world government started their own projects; The Exodus. Not wanting to be left behind. People volunteered to the progress. At year 2228, the last Hive Ship left an Orbital Colony, carrying the last human presence in the Solar System, giving Earth a chance of rejuvenation. The introduction of Blink, a signal that can reach any Vults(Receiver) without any millisecond pass, gave humans the ability to communicate with other fleets no matter the distance. It was a leap in human technology that will deem other alien races inferior. Companies started to advertise a new system of VR to entertain people while in Suspended Animation. *Disclaimer: Cover's not mine!*

Clusters of asteroid exploded like fireworks in the distance as the battleships cannon constantly roared, arousing the people who had recently got out from their pods into cheers.

Screens and holograms presented hosts from different companies, announcing the celebration of the fleet's successful voyage for 67 years. Fighter-craft pilots were getting ready to give the people a show.

Jikein and the Tereni crew stopped their activity for a moment to watch the announcement. Jikein stood on a platform, overlooking the rows of drop carrier-crafts. He stared unblinkingly at the huge projected screen 50 feet above them.

A message suddenly appeared on his left eye, direct order from the prince himself.

>>Your presence is required!<<

Without any seconds delayed, he left the bay and headed straight to a transport, disposable only by an authorized personnel like him.

Nowadays, devices are ballistically controlled by mind but can be controlled manually. Jikein, upon entering the vehicle didn't need to go to the control panel but only needed to synchronize with the craft. He only exerted his will and the vehicle came into life, sending a message to the control room for take off.

With laser guided flight path, the transport shoot out into the open space.

>>Destination?<<

"Rygorant private quarters."

As the transport passed other gigantic ships, the Mundane, in the middle of them all came into view. She was beautiful, like a whale in the night sky. Her tail composed mainly of thrusters, while her mid section had extended further aside with tube-like chambers.

The transport whizzed into sonic speed, passing the particle thrusters of the mother ship that were almost a kilometer long. The transport suspended on a corner of the ship and sent an authorization code. A part of the force field covering the ship disengaged, then a hole appeared on the hull, enough for the transport to enter.

Lasers guided the transport as it landed on the private port. Jikein nonchalantly stepped outside and stared at the walls blinking with in built neuro-link devices.

"If it isn't the prodigy." A young man leaning on a wall, dressed in a Rygorant Officer coat, greeted and teased him at the same time. "Come. The prince wants to send us on a mission." He parted with the wall and stepped on a Glover. Jikein complied without a word and did the same on another Glover that instantly appeared beside him.

The Glovers led them away into halls until they came to a turn that led them into a glass walled tube-way.

"Welcome to the core... Civilization." The young man who greeted Jikein announced as he gestured at the sight that entered their view.

100 meters below the tube-way, earth covered with grasses and trees, even weeds--parted by white slabs of pathways, and dotted with people. There were also lighted platforms for actors and singers to perform their concerts. There were even hubs to provide people temporary shelters so they'll feel at home while awake.

On a platform, a famous girl sung into her audience until she looked up and saw two figures sliding across the tube way with their glovers. She immediately stopped singing and pointed at their direction. "Hey you! Come down here!"

"Tch." The young man who is actually called Ender E. sped up his Glover upon hearing her remark, eager to get out of sight.

"I see you're making friends, Ender." Jikein also sped up his Glover and kept up with him.

"She's not my friend." Ender responded as they left the tube-way into a dimly lit hall, leaving the girl protesting after getting snubbed by one of the infamous Rygorant Agents.

"That's good then." Said Jikein, "It means she's your girlfriend."

"Jikein, we're not kids anymore. You can't tease me by accusing me, baselessly." Ender retorted with a sniff.

"Is that so?" Jikein had a smug on his face, satisfied at the reaction.

Ender could only grit his teeth as they pressed on. They discarded their Glover when they entered a hall with a blue carpet. Traces of advance technology were nowhere to be found. Oil lamps, paintings and headdresses adorned the white painted wall.

They casually entered a double oak door into an oval shaped room, with agents about their age standing guard on every corner. In the middle of them all is a tall blonde man with his back facing them. The blonde was gazing at the crystalized transparent window, giving a view of the dark space and countless dot of stars.

"Space. Finally..." The Prince spread his arms in an all encompassing gesture. "Out here. We are one race. One flag." Although he emitted a brilliant aura earlier, this aura instantly turned violent for a brief moment, "Unfortunately, we are species of Chaos. We are not even half way to our new home and we're already waging war against others."

"Fufufu." A red haired young agent stifled a laughter in the corner.

"It's funny, isn't it?" The Prince swiveled around with an amused smile, leaning on his well polished wooden desk.

Ender found this as an opportunity to explain the details to Jikein. "Colony fleet, LD 2217-D and HL 2219-O decided to purge an alien fauna capable of space travel. Since we are the closest to these fleets, the council sent a message to High Prince Erik to consider sending representatives for the Syndicate."
