Round 2

The sounds of thick, gooey liquid moving can be heard. There's a bubbling coming from this black tar-like substance. Suddenly a head pops out of the pool.

...

What... is... happening?

I got myself out of the weird black liquid I was in, catching my breath. Due to the shock I didn't really notice but... I am not a human anymore.

I looked at my body, taking in the view. I was just a slug-looking thing. As I was thinking about what I was now, I saw blue light reflecting off of my body. I looked up, only to find a screen in front of me.

It read:

I don't understand any of this.

I stared at the screen in front of me for a few minute, and so far I'm pretty sure that I'm not imagining this. I'm a Level 1, Slug Demon. I can move pretty fast despite being a slug, so I guess the numbers I have on here aren't super bad.

After realizing what situation I'm in, I started moving. I slid around for a while, until I heard other things moving. I moved towards the area that it was coming from, and found there was around a dozen other slugs like me, gathered in one area. I moved towards them, and they all seemed to be very calm, and I joined amongst them. I was using my Inspect skill on all of the slugs around me, trying to learn more about what was happening.

Woah, I leveled up? That's so cool! What should I assign my stat points to? I wonder if intelligence means magic or something? I'll put 2 into strength, 2 into agility, and 1 into intelligence.

I don't feel any difference at all... Oh well.

It was at that moment that the slugs around me started to move, there wasn't any form of communication to be had, since no one had a mouth. But we walked for around an hour until we finally stopped at some other place. Not that there was any "place" that existed around here. As far as you could see, it was a white rough marble looking material. Other than the occasional hill or rock formation, it was just flat land.

When we stopped, a slug walked- well, slid- up, stopping a little over a foot away from me. It looked at me, and then furrowed its face, and then a flame appeared in front of it. This shocked me, because I didn't know this was a thing yet. I inspected it using my skill:

After inspecting it, a weird feeling rushed into my head. It felt as if my intelligence was reacting to the flame floating in front of me.

The slug finally stopped the flame, and had a smug look on its face. It was kind of cute, but I was busy thinking about what I had just saw.

With a simple glance at that spell, I learned how to use it. Is this what happens if your intelligence is high enough for magic? Does that mean I can learn even more skills?

After finishing that thought, before I could think of anything else I heard a loud noise. It sounded like something slammed into a rock. I wiggled over, and when I was finally there, I saw a slug nearly three times the size of me. It had killed one of the other slugs, and was attack another one. When I used my inspect skill on it, it said:

It was level 5!? Not only that, but it killed another 3 slugs that tried to attack it at once and got to level 6. The three that charged at the slug had no skills or even arms to defend themselves.

I decided that I needed to try something now, because if I didn't then I would be killed. I knew that my flame spell wouldn't be enough to kill the murderous slug, so I gambled and tried to manipulate the mana on top of that.

I'll use that then! I thought while charging up the fireball. When I shot it off, it pierced straight through the head of the giant slug.
