19 19: Orientation Final Four: Battle Two II

"Everyone understand the plan?" I asked as Nigel lead us out to the arena.

"It's not advance radial gene diffusion Chase, even a toddler could understand this plan." Iris replied then shook her head and groaned. "This better work."

"That all depends on you Tri-clops." I said.

"I know." Iris groaned. Jane patted Iris on the shoulder and gave her a soft smile.

"Everything will be alright." Jane said.

Our group walked out into the arena which now looked vastly different. A lot of the tall walls and pillars were utterly destroyed or toppled. There were deep gouges and large scorch marks all over the arena.

We'd been in our ready room for almost a hour and had no idea what had happened in the other matches. But judging by the look of things there were some pretty intense battles going on.

"We got this!" I whispered to the girls.

Nigel lead us to the center of the arena where the other team and their guide were already waiting. The three guys on the team were already staring at me with contempt. The girls and I lined up next to Nigel and looked up to where the dean and Baset were seated.

"Students of Andromeda! I present to you the finalists if the first heat!" Dean Baxter announced. "In team one: Jane Yearwood, Iris Stone, and Chase Kingston. In team two: Kyle Samuelsson, Adam Tittle, and Ranjesh Gupta!"

"Team one has certainly surprised everyone tonight! Specifically Chase Kingston! who'd have thought he'd make it to through the first fight!" Baset said.

"Bitch!" I said, switching to English.

"I wonder who'll come out on top! Will it be the suspected team two who had a masterful last match worthy of nobles! Or will team one con their way to victory?" Baset asked. Nigel and the other guide quickly left the arena.

"Let the match begin!" Dean Baxter announced.

Jane and Iris immediately jumped into action. Jane cast two defensive sigils and before the other team could react they were surrounded on all sides by walls of ice. Iris took this opportunity to run and cast a utility sigil on herself. Her skin turned transparent and her clothes translucent as she disappeared around the a half fallen pillar.

"Bone-Lasher!" I yelled.

"Jingles!" Jane called out. Crystalline structures shot of our farm crystals and landed beside us. Bone-lasher and Jingles roared their eyes locked on the ice box that our opponents were in.

I saw three crystalline structures fly up into the sky from within the box and land outside it. Two titans and a thrad emerged then immediately started to break down the closest ice wall.

"Bone pick a titan! I'll get the thrad!" I ordered then charged up a lightning bolt. Bone-lasher charged in and pounced on the back I'd the closest titan, using its claws to tear into its shoulders and lower back while biting at its neck.

The other titan turned to help the first but Jingles tackled it before it could grab Bone-lasher and knocked it away from the ice box. The thrad tried to help the titan that Bone-lasher was assaulting but I quickly made it realize that it needed to focus on me.

I threw my lightning bolt and hit the thrad square in the back. It fell to its knees, jerking and shaking. Shaking off the pain the thrad stood and roared then charged at me. I quickly jumped out of the way and charged another bolt.

"Bone, end it quick!" I said then threw the volt. This one too struck the thrad making while it was mid-charge. It went limp and crashed into a pillar. The pillar toppled and landed on top of the thrad with a loud wet crunch. It only took a quick glance to realize that it was dead, the pillar had fallen on its head.

'One down!" I thought hopefully then started to turn to check on Bone-lasher. A wave of exhaustion hit me and I fell to my knees. 'I used too much mana again!'

"Chase!" Jane exclaimed as she ran over to check on me.

"I'm tapped out." I said.

"Can you stand?" Jane asked. Before I could answer one of the Titans let our a pained cry. Jane and I both turned to see the titan that Bone-lasher was fighting was forced down to one knee. Bone-lasher had jumped off its back and was circling it searching for a moment to take the killing strike.

The titan that Jingle was fighting was in worse shape. It was bleeding profusely from several deep gashes and claws marks all over its body. It's right arm was hanging on by a by a single muscle fiber, even if Jingles didn't kill it there's no way it was surviving after this fight.

Jane casts a offensive sigil and two icicles formed in front of her hands and both shot at the titan that Jingles was fighting. The icicles pierced the titan through its back and came out through its chest. The titan was killed instantly and its corpse fell limp to the ground.

Seeing it was alone the remaining titan tried to jump to its feet and break a ice wall but the second it turned its back on Bone-lasher it rushed the titan using its back as a springboard to launch itself onto the wall. Bone twisted its body in midair so it was facing the titan as it landed on the ice then immediately launched itself at the titan clamping its jaws on the Titans throat.

Bone-lasher ripped the titan's throat out and pounced off its corpse before it fell to the ground.

<Strongest!>

Bone-lasher's pride in taking out the titan tickled me. I smiled as Bone-lasher happily ate the titan meat.

"Iris should be just about done right?" I asked Jane as I stood up. The ice box suddenly liquefied and our three opponents stood in front of us soaked and looking pissed.

"You're all dead!" Adam yelled and stared casting a offensive sigil.

"No your evos are dead and unless you want to spend the rest of the night puking and regretting your life choices I'd surrender." I said.

"Fuck you! Peasant!" Ranjesh yelled. His farm crystal started to glow as a crystalline structure formed.

Jane cast a offensive sigil and the sand rose in front of us making a wall. Adam shot a lighting bolt which was diffused by the sand.

"What the fuck is that?" Ranjesh yelled. As Jane's sand wall fell I saw a small creature bolt around Ranjesh, he was no longer trying to summon another evo and instead swinging his arms around trying to hit the creature. He suddenly tensed up and collapsed on the ground. The creature then targeted Adam.

I smirked as Jane and I watched Adam and Kyle try to swat away the creature. Iris suddenly materialized behind Kyle; her utility spell deactivated making her visible again; and roudhouse kicked Kyle in the head. He was knocked out before he even hit the ground. Adam fell too, he was tensed up like Ranjesh had a second ago.

"Kyle Samuelsson, Adam Tittle, and Ranjesh Gupta: knock out!" Dean Baxter announced. "We have the first winning team. Jane Yearwood, Iris Stone, And Chase Kingston!"

"FUCK YEAH!" I roared in English pulled Jane into a hug.

"HEY! HANDS OFF LETCH!" Iris roared and rushed over.

"We won!" I yelled switching back to universal standard. I placed Jane down like Iris demanded.

"Iris we won!" Jane laughed and hugged Iris.

"I Know but he doesn't have hug on you like that Lady Jane." Iris scowled at me. The small evo that attacked and knocked put our opponents hovered over Iris and landed on her head.

It was a hivdrix. A small but creepy little evo. They were the combination of a hummingbird and a wasp. From the head down to the feet it had a regular hummingbird body save larger than normal wasp wings where it's wings should be. It's tail feathers was replaced with a pink slender stinger that I knew was prehensile.

I looked up at Baset with the biggest shit eating grin on my face. I couldn't see her all that well but I could just imagine the repressed anger she was feeling and trying not to show at that moment. I had the feeling thus wasn't the end of it but at that moment I was gorgeous to enjoy my team's win.
