38 The Expedition VI

Zagan in his wildest dreams, never thought of the fact that, of all the relationships he could have with this man, its was going be this type of relationship. Was he really speaking with his future self or is it that this man was just playing a mind game with him.

"It'll take sometime for you to be able to digest this... It might take you some months to be able to assimulate. The main reason for this expedition is because the man with the cross placed upside down has also gone back in time to relive the past and change the future but if you are able to scale through, you'll not only be saving the both of us but the entire world."

"This is a destructive force Zagan, and it will stop at nothing to get you on his side. You must handle this task with extreme care."

Then, he stood up and dusted the dirt off his trouser. "Do not forget your health in the process."

Zagan looked too confused to say anything. He simply stared at his future self in amusement. Can his life get any harder? Why couldn't he just be switch with his future self? He's just a weakling whereas, his future self was so strong and awesome. How on earth was he going to accomplish such a task in his current state?

"I believe in you. You can do this." his future self then leaned in and whispered, "for Leah."

After he said that, he stood straight and waited for an expression he was sure of receiving. Zagan felt courage all of a sudden and this time around, he wanted to do it himself and not hope for it to be another man's job. Seeing the look on Zagan's face, the future Zagan felt reassured.

"You need to go back now. Staying here for too long would have a ripple effect on your journey back." Zagan nodded with a smile forgetting all about his brown teeth which he had long protected. When he realized this, he immediately placed his hands over his mouth then looked everywhere apart from future Zagan's point of sight.

Future Zagan chuckled "You don't need to hide them. I'm you and those were my teeth as well."

They both laughed happily then Zagan asked. "Where's the Lady I came here with? We should head back together."

"She went back but I can help you get back to your world." Future Zagan shrugged.

"Oh! I didn't even get to ask her name." Zagan looked sad. That woman saved him but he didn't even get to say goodbye.

"She had to head back for some important work but she gave me this"

Future Zagan passed a paper to Zagan.

"Open it when you get back. Don't forget all we discussed." Future Zagan scattered Zagan's hair and smiled playfully.

"Its time. I'll send you back." He then began a seal formation and Zagan's body began to turn transparent. Future zagan waved when the seal was complete and Zagan waved back. In no time, he faded completely.

Future Zagan stood there for a while staring at the spot where his past self sat. He was lost in thought and wondered if his past self would be strong enough to face the evil that was to come. There was very little he could do and now, all he could do is hope that whatever it is that his past self possessed would be enough to fight off this impending darkness.

"He's a smart boy you know?" A voice came from behind him startling him. It was the lady from before.

The lady inched closer to him and whispered in a gentle charming voice, "Just like you."

Zagan's lips curled upwards and his brow rose. He held her by her waist and pulled her closer so that there was no space between the two of them. "My punisher." Now that he put it that way, it didn't sound bad at all in fact, it sounded alluring.

"You should rest. Its not wise for you to stay under the sun for too long if not, bringing Zagan here might be in vain." He persuaded. "Ever since Razel ...."

Before he could complete his statement, the lady placed her hand over his lips "It's okay... Zagan, I'm fine. Nothing's going to happen to me okay... Besides, you promised not to mention that incident so let's just stick to that."
