The Men

They started walking towards the police station and like he said, Jordan had to stop and put Taylor down a few times. But eventually they got to the police station and sat her down in the chair at the desk. Kaline found a first aid kit and her and Leo treated the wounds she had.

"How much longer do you think she's gonna be asleep?" Kaline asked.

"Shouldn't be that long."

"Not long at all."

Leo and Kaline looked at the girl and saw she was starting to wake up.

"Wh-where am I? Where is he?"

"Where is who?" Leo asked.

"That man that was attack— Leo?"

"Hey Taylor."

"What are you-what happen-how'd you find me?"

"We heard you screaming for help and ran to help you. What was that you were saying about man?"

"Yeah this guy wearing sunglasses came at me and, tried to bite me."

"WHAT?"

"That is just gross." Jordan stated.

"Are you okay?" Leo asked.

"Yeah he knocked me out when I started screaming."

"Okay this is getting way too weird." said Kaline, "People are asleep everywhere, we're somehow immune to whatever's happening, and now there are men in shades with sharp fangs attacking and trying to bite people."

"You think there are more of them?" Taylor asked.

Kaline looked up and froze for a second before she said, "Look outside."

They turned around to see a large group of men all wearing dark shades. They were all pacing in front of the station, like they were guarding it in a way.

"Please tell me one of you locked the door."

"Everyone grab a gun." Jordan ordered.

"What? I couldn't shoot anybody!" Taylor claimed.

"We have to be ready for anything. We just need to keep them from hurting us."

"We don't really have any other options."

"I'm gonna go lock the door."

"I'll go with you."

Kaline and Jordan quietly started to walk to the door trying to lock it before the men saw them. When they got by the door Jordan locked it while Kaline had her gun ready to shoot. But as soon as the lock made a click, the men turned toward them.

"Jordan, get ready."

Jordan loaded the gun and kept his finger on the trigger.

"Leo, Taylor, get ready."

"I don't know if I can do this."

"Just hide and have your guns ready."

When Kaline looked back she saw one of the men walk in front of the others, it seemed like he was in charge. He had dark black hair, peach colored skin, and was wearing dark shades like all the others. He smiled and she saw his pearl white teeth, with the sharpest fangs she had ever seen.

"Jordan I've got a bad feeling about this."

"Just get ready to shoot Kaline."

Kaline rose her gun and aimed at one of the men next to the one in front. But when she pulled the trigger, she fell back a little bit. When she looked up she saw the man holding the bullet in his hand with a devilish smile on his face.

"Jordan what are we gonna do?"

Jordan was silent until they heard a loud bang that made the men turn around. Jordan quickly shot one of the men in the back and he fell to the ground. The men turned and glared at them.

"Jordan—"

"Just have your gun ready."

But suddenly the lead man became a blur and in a second he crashed through the window and had Kaline in the air holding her by the neck.

"Put her down!"

The man ignored him and stared into her eyes as he had his hand tightly wrapped around her neck.

"Did you really think you were gonna get away with that?" he asked.

"Come on put her down!"

Jordan shoots but the man caught the bullet and crushed it in

his hand.

Kaline struggled to speak but soon managed to say, "You... won't... kill me."

"I can snap your neck like a twig."

"But... you know there's something... about us. That's... why we're still alive... isn't it?"

Suddenly he bit her on the neck but she didn't scream or even jump because she didn't feel anything. He pulled back and he looked confused for a second.

"There must be something about those glasses..." she thought.

Kaline grabbed the glasses off of him and he immediately fell asleep.

"Oh my god it worked!"

"LEO, TAYLOR!"

The men started to run toward them and they were both pushed into the wall and fell to the ground. Some men stood over them with smiles on their faces.

Suddenly Leo and Taylor came out with their guns aimed at the men.

"Get away from them!"

"Please just leave us alone we don't wanna hurt anyone."

The men started to laugh and Leo sighed before he shot and killed one of the men in what seemed like a millisecond. As the men fell, he had a surprised look on his face. The man that was standing next to him clenched his fist as tears slid down his face.

"Go away."

"... We'll be back."

The men disappeared and Leo and Taylor sighed in relief as the others got up.

"How did you do that?"

"Sorry it took a little bit. I manufactured the gun so it could shoot faster. Thank god it actually worked."

"I'm glad I closed my eyes for that."

"Sorry Taylor, but I don't think we would've made it out otherwise."

"Yeah probably, thanks for saving us."

"Yeah thanks man."

"Thanks Leo."

Suddenly Kaline gasped, "Guys people are waking up!" when the others turned around they saw people starting to wake up and get off the ground.
