Everybody's system

The point of a system is supposed to be to make the user the strongest right? unfortunately for our protagonist this does not seem to be the case, as everybody gets one, and his seems to be garbage. This is my first original work, I got slightly upset at all the system novels that set up a slow gain of power, then let the protagonist become op within 10 chapters, so I decided to write a system novel of my own where the protagonist can't shake the world with power until he earns it. Enjoy!

The early bird gets stomped.

"The worst part about all this..." thought Asher, currently suspended upside down in the ropes of the boxing style ring he and Ken were using to test his abilities "is that every time this happens we lose at least ten minutes of our private hour"

Ken was currently trying to extricate him from the springy ropes without breaking any bones, this process was hindered by the fact that even though every bone in Asher's body seemed to be in a position that should have required them to break to get there, none of them actually had, and now that Ken and Asher were aware of this fact the luck wasn't helping them get him out of his predicament.

Ken eventually gave up with an exasperated sigh and went to the corner of the ring to unlatch the ropes, dumping Asher into an undignified pile at the corner of the ring. this session had been humiliating, painful, and slow, but in spite of that had been surprisingly enlightening.

Asher had found out a few key things, firstly that dextarity was impacted by luck more then any other Stat due to the fact that so many unknown factors dictated what activated it, not only that but most of its disadvantages (such as the inability for reflexes to detect feints) were also countered by luck. the issue with this was that Asher didn't actually want too much dextarity as it was a Stat that did very little outside of making him hard to hit.

a few other things had been found out, like how abandoning control of his limbs and making himself go limp would invariably make even the most lethal of strikes turn into a glancing blow, unfortunately this technique left much to be desired as it typically left him on his back in a position that luck could do very little to prevent the next strike, but it was nice to know he had an "OH s***!" button he could use if he needed to.

Most of the other discoveries had been... less positive, like how Asher had landed a lot of hits (through sheer dumb luck) but Ken's vitality had been high enough and his strength low enough that they had zero effect, though Ken had commented a few times that if his strength were higher those hits could have been brutal.

Asher resolved to figure out exactly how much strength he needed and get that amount, then focus on agility and int, but for now he simply decided all of his remaining Stat points bringing all of his non luck stats to 20 (he left vitality at 15 and deception at 15 to have enough points) and picking up a few skills to try the next day.

rewrote this chapter 3 times cause app kept deleting it, sorry for delay. hope its getting across that Mr protagonist doesn't take himself too seriously, I'm tired of all these arrogant protagonists who constantly make enemies for no reason besides that they can.
