Jake Frank was cackling as he ran out of his jail cell. He was being undone as a person and becoming a thing. He felt every jittering nanobot that made up his being, yet he had lost most of the sensations he had as a human. He pulled his pants forward with his thumb. There was nothing there except a dark pelvic bone. There was no pleasure to be had in his form. He had permanently lost his humanity and, with it, all the joy that comes with it.
