I had nothing. Well, I had two rings with question marks. Lydia told me, "I've never heard of someone starting with no skills and a level of 1. You must have been skipping out on training." She laughed for a while before collecting herself. "Arthur I know how hard you work, still I have no answer for how your system has started you out from nothing." I told her it was probably something to do with my lost memories and that I had nothing to go on before I became a guard apprentice. I walked out of her office with a mostly happy stride. Even if my level was low I could always raise it.
After getting dinner and sitting next to Tate I pulled up my system and showed him, he began to make fun of me and my low level. "Skilless" was my new nickname to Tate. Not long after Mark and Eva came to look at my screen. They looked at me like my dog had just died. I appreciated their sympathy but I wasn't upset in the slightest. I showed James my system afterwards and he showed keen interest with my rings. "Usually you can see the equipment you've got on unless it's Divine. If you have two of them, you could leave now and have more money than half of Myriad's noble family's." I knew the rings were probably a gift from god and it would make sense that they were Divine pieces. I asked James, "how do I find out what the rings are capable of?" He answered, "you would need someone with the analysis skill to analyze and use the 'skill reinforcement technique'. The closest capable person from here is in the Capital of the Zephyr continent, Fyro. Fyro is about a month away on carriage from here in Myriad City." I told him, "sounds like I'm just gonna be curious for a while. I don't have the funds for a 2 month round trip." He congratulated me on unlocking my system before I took my leave.
I had one last person to show my system to, but I decided to take a shower first. I thought about my new life and what I would experience outside of the training grounds and city patrols. I was starting to get excited. After washing up I went to the dorm and showed George my screen. He tried to comfort me but after telling him I was honestly fine with everything he left me alone. I went to sleep wondering what new adventures awaited me. I'd probably have to hold off on beast hunting until I raised my level though. The fact I had a level was what I was hoping for anyway.
