Time shard

Chris knew that even though the God of Time was withholding some things from him, he was right about one thing:

any mortal in a shoe wouldn't hesitate to get this power. There was even a part of him that wondered if he should just go with it.

The part of him that spent time watching anime and movies, and reading all kinds of comics and manga. He never thought he would experience something like this in his life. He had always read about the journeys of main characters, their adventures, and longed for something similar. So that part of him was also happy.

Although Chris was happy, it barely showed on his face. It took a very observant person to notice that he was in a very good mood. He looked at the God of Time and noticed that he was busy writing something on a piece of paper. Chris spoke to the God,

"What are you doing ? I've already accepted your proposal. Aren't you going to grant me the abilities, or am I supposed to sign a contract?" He said this while looking at the paper the God was writing on.

The God stopped writing, looked up at Chris as if he had just noticed him, and said, "Oh, you're done? I've already granted you the ability while we were busy with your monologue." He said this while avoiding Chris's eyes and looking back at the paper as if it were gold. Hearing this, Chris was speechless.

Deciding not to dwell on it, Chris regained his composure and asked a question that had been bugging him. "Am I the first person you've done this for? Because I don't think I'm the first, right?"

The God, who was very happy for the change of discussion, answered Chris, "No, you are actually not the first person." Chris then asked, "What happened to the others? Where are they?"

The God stopped what he was doing and said, "Oh, them," then added, quoting a line from Princess Peach in the Mario movie, "They are not important!" He said this while raising his fist.

Before Chris could say anything, he continued, "But what you need to know is that the power of time is grouped into tiers. I'm not going to tell you how many because you will find out yourself."

The God continued, "Although I told you that you are going to inherit my power, this doesn't mean that you are just going to inherit everything at once.

There are two reasons for this. The first is that knowing your personality, I know that you wouldn't like something like that." Chris nodded in agreement.

The God continued, "And the second thing, right now you're in tier one. Even having tier one of my ability will cause someone to explode, then implode on themselves."

Hearing this, Chris looked at him with surprise.

"Explode?"

Chris shouted, looking at the God as if he wanted an answer. But the God just ignored him, not bothering to answer.

"But that's now in the past. Each of these tiers has abilities you will have to unlock. Some of these abilities have their own sub-abilities."

Although Chris had many questions, he knew that this shameless God was avoiding him like ultra instinct Goku. Ignoring this, he decided to ask,

"So how am I going to get these abilities? Are they just going to come to me naturally, or do I have to do something?" The God, not looking at Chris, replied, "I'm glad you asked this. The way to get these abilities is to accumulate time shards."

Chris looked at him, confused. "Time shards?" he asked.

The God answered, " Long story short, Each universe or world that exists has a major plot line or some sub-stories that exist within that world or universe. Playing a part in those storylines will give you time shards. Although just existing in the world or universe will give you time shards, the amount you get this way will be very small compared to the amount you get from participating in plots or subplots."

Then the God looked at Chris and asked, "So do you understand?"

Chris answered, "Of course I do. What you're generally telling me to do is to put myself into trouble, and I'll get these time shards."

The God replied, "Yeah, you're right. But I don't know why you call it trouble. Well, whatever, the important thing is that you get it. The more time shards you get, the more powerful you become, and the more time shards you have, the closer you'll be to breaking into the next tier."

Chris responded, "That's good, but how am I going to track all this? I recall a system is really good for these kinds of things."

The God cheerfully said, "That's easy, I'm giving you that." The God realized that after saying this, Chris was looking at him very strangely.

"What?" Chris asked.

The God answered, "Even looking at you with my eyes dodging your gaze, while you were monologuing."

Chris had never seen such a shameless God before.

The God, trying to dispel the awkward atmosphere, coughed and said, "This system is very good for you because normally I'll be very busy with a lot of things to do and won't be able to answer all the questions you'll ask me. But this system will help you answer some of the questions you need to know."

Then the God said, "Would you look at the time? It's time for you to start going. I really wish I could continue talking with you, but we have to stop for now. I have something important to do." He then handed Chris the piece of paper he had been scribbling on.

Chris interrupted the God,

"Wait, wait, wait, you haven't told me where the first world I'm going to go to is."

The God replied, "Don't worry, you'll find out." After saying this, a portal opened behind Chris, and he was sucked into it.
