Have you ever been minding your own business when suddenly a god appears out of nowhere and asks you to inherit his power? Annoying, right? . . . . . . Hello everyone new author here, I'm writing this for fun so Ill upload whenever I'm free. if you enjoy it good, if you don't enjoy it, have a nice day. Also the cover doesn't belong to me.
My name is Chris Zetrick. I'm just an average guy living a normal life and working a regular job. People who know me might describe me as straightforward and unremarkable. My days mostly consist of heading to work, dealing with routine tasks, and going home.
This morning, however, felt different. When I woke up, I took a bath and nearly slipped, catching myself just in time. After that, I tried to make coffee, but I ended up making a mess in the kitchen. Determined to salvage my morning, I decided to drink a glass of water before heading to work, but I nearly choked on it.
Even though these mishaps were unusual, I shrugged them off. I'm a simple person who prefers to mind my own business. Despite the oddities of the day, I aimed to continue living my life to the fullest, even if it seemed a bit mundane or uneventful.
As I walked to work, I saw an 8-year-old girl running into the middle of the road to retrieve her teddy bear, unaware of the approaching truck. I briefly observed the scene but decided to keep moving towards work, not letting it interfere with my day.
On my way, I encountered the same troubling scene multiple times. First, a 7-year-old girl, then a 6-year-old boy, and finally an elderly woman all ended up in the middle of the road. I wondered why so many people were getting stuck in the road today, but I kept going, not letting it distract me.
Then, out of nowhere, a man—likely a robber—rushed towards me, brandishing a dagger and shouting for people to clear the way. It seemed he had stolen something and was trying to escape. In an instant, I disarmed him with precise and fluid movements, demonstrating my martial arts skills. I had been training in martial arts since I was young. The onlookers clapped, impressed by my quick reflexes, but I continued on my way to work without missing a beat.
I thought all these strange occurrences were just coincidences, a result of a bad day. As I walked, I decided to stop and move to the right. Just then, a thunderbolt struck the exact spot where I had been standing moments before. I looked up at the clear sky, puzzled by the unexpected lightning.
As I continued my journey to work, the environment grew darker and chaotic as a massive meteorite appeared in the sky, causing people to run for their lives. Realizing something was profoundly wrong, I looked up at the sky and shouted, "Why are you playing these games? If you want to talk, just talk." My voice seemed to pierce the chaos. Suddenly, everything froze—time itself appeared to stop. The meteorite, the fleeing crowd, and the noise all halted as if someone had pressed a pause button. Then, a disembodied voice echoed from the sky, saying;
"You are no fun. Why won't you die?"
